I actually prefer using the Shredder VII or Tungsten VII ammo myself with the HMWA.

It gives something like 35% or 40% extra damage.

I really liked the ammo upgrades in ME1. To bad the designers made an extremely crappy design decision by removing them and making a few of them skills in ME2 which was incredibly dumb.

Only problem with using some of the weapons they put into mass effect is the glitch they put in on purpose to stop pirated copies, only problem is it sometimes affects people who have legitimately purchased the game as well. (Glitch causes overheated weapons to not lose heat so you lose them until you reload your game)

Yeah, I get this video is old and bad quality and all, but everyone knows about this.

The Spectre shotgun 10 with Explosive Rounds 10 with a Scram Rail 10 with a Kinetic Coil 10. I used this against the Rogue V.I. on Luna. It's Weapons Force often will send enemies you NEED to kill through walls or into bottomless pits, though, so I only use it in Riot enemy scenarios.

The Anti-Thorian grenades (which it took me a while to find out works on Thorian Creepers, as well) is better though.

You can also get an "Infinite Ammo" Assault Rifle if you use the Breaker (or HMWAR) 10, with a Frictionless Materials 10. (along with Kinetic Coil or Combat Scanner 10, and Snowblind or Inferno Rounds 10.)

The Frictionless Materials will cool down the gun before it can get a chance to heat up, resulting in a gun that never overheats, resulting in "Infinite Ammo." The Breaker works best, although it's weaker, because it has the longest Shots Before Overheating rating.

lol i use that one on sniper rifles with heat dampening. usually i have wrex and the turian equipped with that setup because I'm a vanguard but it works very well i got through hardcore using that. fun seeing the enemies just fly everywhere un-expectantly

I can only remember it was Specter sniper (I think) with explosive round. Use to blow everything up.

explosive rounds, nice, but u need heat dampening and a gun with 3 upgrade slot to use its fully potential. If u get good upgrades and high level u can shoot it with no overheating.

Regardless of other upgrades you will overheat after a single shot on the sniper rifles and shotguns. +500% heat means that it needs to be able to fire 6 times before overheating to be able to fire it once without overheating. Its not possible using frictionless material, so I end up using scrams, or hyper rail if im bored, because its the same one shot. Its awesome though using lift with an adept and then launching the enemy into the ceiling dieing.

with the assult rifle, complete dampness is a waste for the rifle's ability that reduces heat by 50% i think, which doesnt build alot of heat for the rifle considering it doesnt build a lot of heat up anyways, so Id go with 2 rail extensions with chemical rounds because chemical round halt regeneration and rail extensions increase dmg plus the addition power upgrade its effective

the explosive rounds? Well you should switch to Shredder/Tungsten Mark VII then because Explosive only does 28% more damage to an enemy. Tungsten does 40% more damage to Synthetics (robots) While shredder does the same to organics. Aka they do more damage without overheating your sniper rifle after one shot.

Shredder Rounds and Tungsten Rounds do more damage than explosive rounds >_>. One does 40% more damage to synthetics while the other does 40% more damage to Organics While explosive only does 25% more damage while overheating a weapon. Plus the shotgun sucks on this game. Mark X Spectre pistol with Master Marksmen does the most damage in the game. Mark x Spectre Assault rifle is second. Though I guess master assassination would be the best I don't count that seeing as it is slow.

The assualt rifle does the Dmg per Bullet it shoots 3x faster than The pistol, therefore doing alot more damage

Nope. Master Marksman increases the shooting rate as well. Plus unlike overkill the damage greatly increases. Overkill just makes the rifle shoot faster. Increase fire rate as well as increased damage means that the pistol does the most damage. This has been proven quite a bit in the game and on the official forums.

@halospartan3399 in the later levels you can randomly get given geth assault rifles for killing geth. You can equip and use any gun with any class but only the soldier can use them all proficiently, so unless you gave your adept the assault rifle bonus talent he or she won't be very good at using it compared to the pistol.

My lvl 60 Adept is a beast I can use his powers indefinitely therefore I can own any enemy...especially that I can damage enemies while in stasis, then after stasis wears off then I just use lift...rinse and repeat.

On my level 45 soldier, second playthrough, I have a HMWA VII, 336DMG, and uses two Frictionless Materials VIII, meaning 40% Heat Dampening + 10% Extra Damage. I can fire that forever, it never overheats. I use whatever Ammo I need, when I need it.

Now, y'see, I enjoy being an invincible soldier. Get good armor, pick the Shot Trooper specialization and max out Immunity and you pretty much can't die. Combine that with HMWA X with 2 Frictionless Materials and you become a walking tank.

Infiltrator (or Sniper as it's named in the US version i guess) with Bonus Talent LIFT is pretty much the best all-rounder there can be. Not only he's good with Electronics (more Shields) and Decryption (both for to unlock crashed Probes and Lockers etc.), but with Spectre X weaponry he's deadly as heck. And the LIFT talent is a must-have, for Krogan's and charging Geth are easily destroyed that way (charging enemy + Lift = their own movement propels them over the "borders" of the game = Death)

You unlock Spectre weapons by earning 1 million credits. If it's your first time playing, you would think 1 million credits is tough to get, but if you sell all your unessential gear (gear that you don't use), you can easily max out the number of credits you can earn that the game allows (which is 9 999 999 credits). Wait until you're at a high level (eg. Level 50) and you can buy LEVEL 10 (max level) Spectre weapons.

soldier's the funnest one to play, cos you get all the weapons, but vanguard is probably the second best, shotguns and biotic throws. id go for either of those two, soldier if you just wanna play the game through easily have fun, vanguard if you want to do that but have powers aswell.

Shepard is alive in the second game. They have stated as such. However, if you play the game 'wrong', you can cause Shepard to die, permanently. Check out the Mass Effect 2 site for proof. Also, as for upgrades, he probably has the HE rounds for the increased explosive radius and weapon force- you can hear his gun overheating constantly.
