Can someone please comment on the smell that these snakes exert? They don't stink right? It's just their leanings? So if I was to clean their habitat they smell odourless again?
@TheKevinTrinh snakes themselves have little if any odor. but a dirty snake habitat doesn't smell very good, and as you can imagine, snake poo isn't the best smelling thing in the world either.
@Moon3Heart3 Yes I will be getting one soon. They do do well with children. They get about 3-6ft. in length.Just make sure you meet the care requirments and there a perfect beginner snake.
are those snakes all fully grown or fairly young coz they look pretty small, or are they just small breed? i have no real experience with snakes so i dno
i just want to ask, my corn snake has bit me a few times and when i examined it half way healed i itched it and i still hirt, it felt like there were needles in the bit marks, so i want to know if i pull my snake off to fast would i have ripped some teeth out? i don't want to hurt him next time he does this if it is true.
@DarkStardustDragon74 u want a 4 month old 20 gallon or 10 gallon or for ur 30 gallon tank do this get a divider and make it 20 gallon or 10 cuz then u dnt have to kee[ buying new cages
I got a snow corn snake (like the one in the video) last week and she is awesome. She has a very sweet temperment and never even thinks about escaping. She turns into a little monster after she eats though.
I Love snakes! I have a Eastern Garter, Common Garter, and Albino Corn Snake!!!!! They are so frikin cute!! And Corn Snakes ARE NOT flighty at all........
@adrian17066 Yeah, because there could'nt POSSIBLY be other snakes out there with red black and yellow color patterns right? Check it out, google "Corral Snake", and "Milk Snake", then compare the locations of the colored bands. You'll notice that they look different.
@NapFloridian Corns are much better for bigginers as they dont tend to bite and dont mind bieng handled but they also grow between 4ft to 5ft2 and occasonaly 6ft
ball pythons are the best first snake they are COMPLETLY harmless and the only thing they would to if u piss them off is a quick bite they have no teeth and the least they can do is squeeze a bit but they are easy to care for all u need is a tank that the snake has plenty of space in so if its 7 inches long you could use a 16 tank or something getting a little bigger the bigger the snake and a hiding spot to cool off and a little thing of water to keep it humid inside
Do they have small pythons or bows? Because I want one I can keep on my neck when I go to the park, but that inst too big that I might accidentally get someone chocked to death or myself.
@nightmarenet It sounds to me like you want a snake simply for show. Not a good idea, that's a lifetime commitment you're making for a few hours of attention.
@sixxuglykingdom no actually my park is close to my house an no one goes their, i was making a joke, but my actual concern is getting chocked accidentally. Thanks for not answering my question, and I have a turtle, a really big dog, and two mini lops (rabbits)
@nightmarenet I wonder why you intend to take a snake to a park to begin with? Snakes don't belong in parks. Think about how your comment sounds. For one, you never put any type of constrictor around your neck, even as babies. Two, the fact that you don't know if "they have" (as if snakes are a product to be made in a factory) small pythons and boas shows you've not done much research. I'd be more than glad to help you if you didn't come off as uneducated.
@sixxuglykingdom obviously I am uneducated thats why i was asking. Why would I take a snake too the park? Because it doesn't belong in parks? It doesn't belong in a glass box either. It would be my pet so I could do as I please with it as long I take good care of it. Stop show boating , and of course they are not products, but then again why do people try to find small dogs, or small pets at all? Small parrots and larger parrots?
@nightmarenet Here, let me pick apart your comment so you can see where my train of thought was. One, you mentioned wanting a smaller snake so that you could put it around your neck and take it to the park. Generally you take a dog to a park, not a snake. The neck is where you wrap a snake when you want it to be seen. Two, you mention someone else potentially getting choked, which suggests you expect people to inquire about it and want to touch it and put it around their throat. Again, that
@nightmarenet leads to the idea that you intend to show your snake off to the public. Which, that's all fine and dandy on its own, but paired with you asking a very rudimentary question about the sizes of different snakes AND mentioning putting it around your and other people's necks, sounds a lot like someone wanting something a living creature for the "cool" factor of it. Do you see where I'm coming from now?
Those pythons are really cool until they get over 3 ft. The longer they get the harder they are to handle. Hmmm,, seems like i've heard that before. lolz.
@Ogureks A snake needs to be able to stretch out in its full length it the terrarium. That means that for your terrarium, you'll need to find a snake that has a maximum length of 45 cm. The only snakes that size that i can think some of the Typhlopidae snakes, and I'm not sure how good they are as pets. But have a look around the internet, hopefully you'll find something :)
@theyongabrothers2 i live in charlotte nc and when i was 12 i went to an exotic pet store to get one and they said no because i was to young so i would say yes you are to young to get one with out an adult with you and if you do get one i would go with a corn snake cause that is the 1st snake i got and now i have about 5 snakes, and only buy from a breeder or an exotic pet store NOT petspart, petco, or any other commercial chain store.hope that helps.
@theyongabrothers2 no me and my friend was 11 and he had a ball python, thats what you should get they dont try to run, me and him are14 now and idk if he still has him cause he moved.
i have a question for the reptile guy. i owned a California King Snake, and she was an escape artist, no matter what we did to the tank, she always found a way out. well after the fifth time she got out (she was out for almost a month cause we couldnt find her) she started getting really jittery and wouldnt eat when we gave her a mouse, now i'm wondering why she did that cause she normally was really relaxed around me. Shes stil alive though, finally got her to eat after she shed.
@MrFisheez Probably a blood python. They're not good beginner snakes. They tend to be a bit temperamental and they are suited for at least the intermediate reptile keeper.
I dont think that is true what he said about the Milk Snake.... My science teacher has a pet Milk Snake i think it is one of the best starter snakes ever it doesnt poop on anyones hand it has never ever striked at anyone so overall it is a really good snake. I am looking forward to get one.
whenever i watch videos about snakes cracks me up driving home from work one day during summer windows down pull up next to a guy with an albino phython around his neck nbd.
Having owned a snake for several years I can tell you that when and if it bites you it is YOUR fault. My snake bit me twice in college and both times I was drunk and failed to follow proper handling procedures.
@freezie411 -- ball pythons rarely bite. when they do it is mostly because of a mistake made by the owner, like startling the snake, grabbing it quickly from above, or smelling strongly of food. highly recommended for beginners :)
@purplevenom1000 they abuse them and if you go look at most of their animals there missing parts (like toes and scales) and its also WAY over priced like $100 dollars for one normal corn when you can get one for $35 dollars at an expo and yes they might have mites
im a 10 year old girl, and i wanna get a pet snake. i dont want something that fast or grows very big. also, it must be good with kids, because i have a little sibling. i am very interested in corn snakes and the spotted python. what one should i get? :)
Can someone tell me more about the milk snake like what do I feed it how do I clean it how much is. It and how big and can I put it in a five gallon fish tank aquariam no fish and it's not used
Well it makes more sense when your implying it twords a car, becuase when you use it in a sense like something is " Running ", usually when you imply it twords a machine, or contraption, but when you imply the phrase to a legless animal wich is in this case a snake, it doesnt sound correct. and he is using it in a way that imply's that it is using * legs * to run, wich is totally used in a different way than "my car runs about 120 MPH".
@xXsabuXx not quite a anaconda (i live in venezuela lols i could get one) but a snake that grows a normal size, but big enough to scare ppl away, i looked it up and a boa constrictor is what im looking for, anyways, any suggestions
@ZombieWaffleFilms How about blood pythons they grow quite sizey (around 5 feet) and tend to get err.. quite thick. This guy shows one as well on youtube but lol my suggestion would be dont get a huge snake as first timer unless you know what you're doing
and dont forget that they are not some kind of showoff objects but creatures with a soul. :P
vie never understood why people keep snakes. im not criticising at all but i don't understand why u keep them as pets i mean can u like pet them and things lol
I have a milksnake and I love it he is about 80cm he never bite me . I had a california king snake well that was a bit crazy he always bite me..... but the milksnake is 100% friendly . and any snake fan is a friend of mine :)

@MONSTERMaNiMaL when I say "my car runs about 120 MPH"

Well it makes more sense when your implying it twords a car, becuase when you use it in a sense like something is " Running ", usually when you imply it twords a machine, or contraption, but when you imply the phrase to a legless animal wich is in this case a snake, it doesnt sound correct. and he is using it in a way that imply's that it is using * legs * to run, wich is totally used in a different way than "my car runs about 120 MPH".

@ZombieWaffleFilms An Anaconda?
xXsabuXx 1 year ago
@xXsabuXx not quite a anaconda (i live in venezuela lols i could get one) but a snake that grows a normal size, but big enough to scare ppl away, i looked it up and a boa constrictor is what im looking for, anyways, any suggestions
ZombieWaffleFilms 1 year ago
@ZombieWaffleFilms How about blood pythons they grow quite sizey (around 5 feet) and tend to get err.. quite thick. This guy shows one as well on youtube but lol my suggestion would be dont get a huge snake as first timer unless you know what you're doing
and dont forget that they are not some kind of showoff objects but creatures with a soul. :P
