The kid wanted to say it, apparently, and got stage fright when he got to the end of the line. Whether you believe the mom who said that or not, it's up to you, but I think it's at least probable.
Yeah I'm a liberal democrat who thinks Michele Bachmann is about the worst candidate that's been fielded as a possible presidential candidate in modern times, and that's REALLY saying something, AND I think that her position on gay marriage and homosexuality in general is as idiotic as she is, BUT this is simply using your child as a pawn in a game, and is pretty deplorable. If this woman wanted to give this statement she should have left the kid at home and told Mrs. Bachmann this herself.
I disagree to point, I agree that kids should not be used as pawns, but when people say that the children are being harmed by being in a gay house hold, then Its impotent to hear form the kids,. its impotent to hear right form there own lips that its ok to be raised by gay parents and the they are happy well adjusted kids. when the other side brings the kids well being into question what else can you do but hear form the kids about it.
I think the mother of that child had him talk to Bachmann, so she could listen to someone on her own level of intelligence. We all know Bachmann got her degrees from Box Top U., under the orders of her husband, she's a religious, prejudiced bigoted liar, deer-in-the-headlights politician, I think it's a good thing that child told her that...so I disagree with you. What I find offensive is exposing children to religion, that is more cruel than exposing them to Bachmann.
It's difficult to say whether the child was uncomfortable or just became shy. My children get shy at the moment of performance, even if it's something they really wanted to say, even if it's their grandparents they're saying it to.
Also you really weakened your point with your last sentence. Everything you do as a parent indoctrinates your children on way or another. The best you can hope for is balance, and you don't know anything about this family, so you are not fit to judge in absolutam.
There are children out there who want to speak up. I was one of them. In elementary school, I lobbied in person people ranging from my federal Representative to the owner of a McDonald's. So, we have no way of knowing A) if a child is encouraged to have & use critical thinking skills independent of parental opinions & B) whether parental prompting is to encourage the child to follow through on the child's decision to speak up or to get him to repeat rote learning. Lots of gray in there, too.
See they have this all wrong. People might think it's cute, but in the end all they'll really say is "Well they're children and just don't know any better!" If you want to advance a political agenda, look at it from a marketing standpoint and get a big breasted blonde to parrot your message instead!
Agreed. I am in favor of gays living their lives in peace the way they want to however. However, this woman is sick and argues the case why lesbians should not raise children. Putting a child up to this like that is messed up.
As a none nuclear parent to be with out of the ordinary parental dynamics I agree wholeheartedly. This was wrong. I fight my own battles, I won't train my child to do it for me.

Buen comentario; quizá si fuera un niño de unos 12 años sería válido, pero tan chavito no tiene sentido.

I find The Binding of Issac to be a realistic simulator of fundamentalist childhood.

This mother's parenting skills seem to definitely be in need of "fixing", not to mention this did absolutely nothing to benefit the gay community.
