Tthe class 43 was great in its time but its getting old now and got the wrong engine and will probably need preserving in a few years.
We need Japanese type bullet trains in Britain to make us great again as well as new high speed lines for them to run on.
All countries should follow Japan's example - fast trains that are never late except if it snows or there is an earthquake predicted. If Japan can build quality stuff then whats our excuse?

@f898ct Very true, and honest of you. However due to thugs like Gordon Brown the UK has fallen behind. Mr Brown was too busy deregulating banksand hiding people on benefits in the hope they would vote Labour every 4 years, to bother investing in trains and schools sadly.

the Hitachi class 395 "Javelin" trains are not only more beautiful than 99% anything we brits could build and at least it was japan who made it, that in turn gives it perhaps the best relyability you can get in the modern world. feel yourself it wasn't china who made it then you should start shitting yourselves. im glad it wasn't us who made this art on wheels, we would never be able to compare to this "Japan, Masters of High Speed Rail" till proven otherwise...
The exact thing Britain needs is to build our own trains! We don't need foreign crap to increase rail travel by a few hours! What happened to Britain being "Great" Britain?
