The title is misleading about the lyrics, i do understand its in the description but most would agree that they perception is that the lyrics would be in karaoke style.
if you were alive in the 80's and the 90's there were alot of priests being arrested for child molestation and yes the song was releast in the 90'sso maybe you should do some reserch be for you make dumb assed judgement on other people as for your assumeing i'm a teenage mabe i was a teenager that grow up in the 70's and not the 90's like yourself
@jclarkjimmy This may be the dumbest youtube comment I've ever seen. This song was released in 91, the Catholic priest scandal was in the mid 2000s if I am remembering correctly. "Losing my religion" is not literal. You are an uninformed and ignorant teenager who's just spouting nonsense right now.
@SaneErebus Oh yeah, I'm an idiot, I should have mentioned that. I did some research and found out that the sex abuse cases first began to get attention in the mid 80s, however I also researched what the band said about the song. They basically said it was about a secret admirer. This song is definitely not about the Catholic priest scandal.
@JuliettW93 i havnt really studied the lyrics and not sure if ur trolling, but isnt the phrase losing my religion a kind of metaphor for losing heart for all that u thought was good and true bout the world and not so much about any type of religion
I wish you'd included the lyrics. This song means a lot to me. Thanks for posting the original version of it. I heard this first on the radio and was astounded by it. In my case 'my religion' was losing the 'vision' of what I thought life should be like. Once I let go of that, I was open to whatever life had to offer.
Apparently 'losing my religion' is American for 'losing my temper'. I was sorry to find this out. It worked much better for me as a song about a kid who is besotted with someone who is Not A Believer and can't decide what to do.
@TDJCCSGC Uh......I have never heard that saying "losing my religion" ment "losing my temper" here in America. Unless you mean in some other country "losing my religion" means "losing my temper"
