Olimar's pikmin are really powerful and Sonic's speed makes these 2 the most powerful in brawl.

Pause at 1:02 and notice the similarities between Yoshi and Sonic..

I think Yoshi was designed to be like Sonic. Similar sized shoes, a vibrant colour (green instead of blue) and a big white mouth (in place of Sonic's eyes)... it's all there. They made him like Sonic so that Mario could ride Yoshi ('sonic'). It's like Nintendo were trying to say 'Hey Sega, we are riding you because we own you!' Just a theory. :)

I say the Sonic characters that should be in the next ssb and have the skills for it should be: Sonic, Shadow, Silver, Blaze, and Knuckles.

Their final smashes would be: Sonic-super sonic, Shadow- chaos blast, Silver-telekinetic burst, Blaze- burning blaze, Knuckles-master emerald shaker.

I did not say that they would never be in the game, but they would never put 4 characters in a row, maybe on the on the next next super smash they would put, plus Falco was already on Melee, they just brought him back to Brawl and Silver and Shadow would be clones from Sonic too, sure, they could have some different moves but many would be the same as sonic.

@omegaplib No, Sonic, Shadow and Silver would have very different movesets the only attack they could share is the spindash, and thats only for Shadow and Sonic. For example Silver would have all his pychokinetic moves and has never been seen doing the spindash and Shadow would have stronger melee moves and based more on combat. Whereas Sonic is in the middle. They put in 4 characters with Zelda and Mario, why not Sonic since he was the most anticipated character in the game.

Sonic was the most anticipated character, not his entire franchise, maybe other characters could be included in future games but not all the four that you mentioned, they are not that anticipated only Sonic was and maybe Shadow because he is badass and has some considerable fame, so in the next SSB I say that they would add in the max 2 characters from the sonic franchise, now don't get me wrong I like Sonic, not a lot, but I like it.

With Sonic? The homing attack? Thats not even a KO move and thats one of his most easily avoided attacks. Its not very reliable. Thats a hilarious thought though. Do me a favor and go to a tournament and do nothing but spam that attack and tell me how far you make it.

@stephane279 That would make it useful in a case like that, but still not reliable. Other characters have way more reliable specials, i.e. Metaknight's Mach Tornado. I don't see why people target Sonic for this when there are characters who have way more advantages (and better advantages) than sonic does. For example Ike and Metaknight's, priority, Pitt's recovery, Diddy's attack speed, DK's wide arsenal of KO moves and the list goes on. The only advangtage Sonic has is speed.

Sonic is essential for players who are into hit-and-run and long-distance tactics and racking up a lot of damage in short time. Sonic's capable of that with his speed and combo abilities, but he lacks an efficient KO move for opponents around the 100% damage point, not to mention his lack of strong short-range offense. If another Smash Bros. game comes out and Sonic somehow makes the cut, his final smash needs to be tweaked down a few levels, if they decide to keep that particular feature.
