For people who want a cat but live in an apartment, British Shorthairs are very good to keep because they're mellow and do well indoors. Other cats that do well in apartments are Persians, Russian Blues, Javanese, and Ragdoll cats. Please, before you get a cat, do your research! Pick one that will fit your lifestyle. Also, it's nice to support breeders, but maybe try your local pet shelter before going to a breeder. There are tons of kitties who would love a good home.

@MrKamale18 i have a british longhair female . British cats are very awesome cats! The longahir needs to be groomed a lot. I suggest that if you don't have a lot of time to groom your cat you should get the shorthair british. British cats are awesome! Both are amazing but shorthair's are less shy. they are playable and like to cuddle .

@BigEricHunt You are very wrong. I have two British Shorthairs (and another cat who looks so much like a cow...) and they are extremely playful and affectionate, in fact, at night they both get really hyper and tear ass around the house. They are 7 years old too so they are pretty old.

I had 2 british shorthairs 5 years ago, they were so nice and cuddly. They were not fussy, grouchy or anything like that. They were sweet, they greeted people into their territory which is my home and respected other cats. But they died sadly. :(

I have a British Blue Shorthair. I've had him for 8 years. He is THE BEST friend. I love that cat. He is extremely cute and funny. Like the video says, they are really calm. I find this composure in a cat to be endlessly amusing. He is also VERY sweet and affectionate. Just a great guy all around. Oh yeah, he does spend some time on my lap but not most of the time. He always wants to be near me though. He follows me from room to room and gets comfortable near me when I sit down.
