Why does the guy use the "running late" excuse for a burned out turn signal? He wasn't speeding, so why use that excuse? Even a new driver getting pulled over for the 1st time can think up excuses better than this dolt. Also, "first vacation"? He's gotta be pushing 60 years old, kinda hard to believe he's never went on a vacation before. Also, he says "no excuse, officer...", then spouts off a list of excuses.What idiot wrote this dialogue?

@DennytheHumanBean A dirt salesman. No, really, it's true. The guy who wrote and directed this (and also plays the dad/husband) was a dirt salesman and this was his first and only movie, as far as I know. He clearly had to go back to his day job.

Saw Manos on Elvira's Movie Macabre the other night, without Joel & the Bots I was forced to bite my fist to keep from sliding into a deep well of despair. Not even Elvira's mighty cleavage could dull the pain.

As much as I hate this movie, I can never hate it as much as it deserves.

@SharkNinjaBlueStar Yes, I watched both the MST3K and plain version. While it's poorly made, that's not it's biggest flaw. It's biggest flaw is that the movie is boring as Hell! You can even see from watching this version that the MST3K cast struggled trying to make jokes to go along w/ this snorefest. X-/ Still, at least I can brag to folks that I sat through one of the worst movies ever made nonstop. X-P

I always wondered about the huge boring car scene at the beginning of the movie. Then a geek friend of mine informed me that they intended to put the movie credits over top of it, but ran out of funds. And/or people who actually wanted to be credited. It all makes so much sense now...

@Illogicality The credits for the movie are at the end....they probably planned for credits in the beginning, shot it, changed their mind and were stuck with this dull opening. However, you do get to see El Paso in the background in the first shot, and all the dirt paths of the ranch they filmed at.
