From what I have seen my grandmother do, it is quite a thankless thing to do. And not all mothers, especially in today's society are like that. Though yes, women who are stay at home mothers AND do the house work and what not should be given more credit and gratitude however being a stay at home mother is not the toughest job.

Maybe I am taking it out of context as we really aren't given the whole story but I just felt she should have never left for CBS. She was great and had her own thing going then she left for the money and dropped in the ratings.

A very true observation and statement from the author of The Feminie Mistake. As a professional e-media/ tourism person in full time employment and mother of one, with no family support nearby, I often think I have come to the end of my strength and energy, just to bounce back even stronger. Should I ever get married, I will most definitely carry on working (for long term economical reasons - during the years, I have learned to rely on myself as a woman)

Makes sense to me. Women shouldn't expect their husbands to be the sole provider once the kids are already born. Kids need both parents around, and they need parents with a stable income and work ethics to teach to their kids. Equal rights should mean equal responsibiity.
