  • If you don't mind telling what turbo's you used, curious minds want to know.

  • anyone else think this thing sounded like a rocket when it took off?

  • @boarddog1 No. Rockets are slower.

  • Press 4 to listen to the sound of a real take-off

  • @Freppe4Life press 9 to poke the pillsbury do boy

  • what it menas the 1.25 sec we hear in 0.9 and we could watch in the screen in 0.13 ??

  • @fuzter2007 1.25sec for 60 ft.This is incredible launch!

  • o.O *jizz*

  • hey we can still build something weird

  • Will if your worried about strength you can always change over to the GM iron block with an aftermarket rotating assembly. This should be good for 2000hp+.

  • OMG 1.25 60ft

  • I wouldn't want a car that fast, I'll just have a regular C6 Z06 and that's it, no big mods

  • @ZR1Terror I have a twin turbo 300zx, and im with you on that one. I would just install basic bolt on's on the LS7 And that would be more then fast enough for me, but runing a 8.49 would be like a dream come true :)

  • @ZR1Terror once u DRIVE a high 10 or low 11 sec car and u dont want one thats faster, u may as well stick to riding a bus

  • Lingenfelter hasnthenfastest tt vette so im sure they would like to throw a fuck you back

  • @TrueTexanPSN1

You can't even string a sentence together you ignorant fuck so I'm not surprised you can't tell time or read the calendar. This pass was made 5 years ago you twat.

  • @TrueTexanPSN1 you sound like a complete dumbass

  • what the hp to the wheel ???

  • Nothing says " I am a dumbass" like the post below.

  • You know, nothing says "I have a small penis," like a TWIN TURBO CORVETTE WITH 1000 HORSEPOWER AND A 2 SPEED TRANSMISSION! Way to compensate :-D

  • AHHHHH,, i love the new Vettes,, 80s, 90s,, eh,, the 90s were pretty cool with the lt1 and LS1,, but man,, the new ZR1??? man what a beast to beat the supercars with enuff leftover to buy a new house,, but i think i would go (if i hit the lottery) with a Zo6, and turbo it!! you would go like hell and save $ over a new Zr1.. this car is SICK!!!!,, shows that for a Fraction of the cost of a new Bugatti. you can blow its doors off and buy a new house on the beach, maybe a new boat too!!

  • supra what?! that thing is unreal!

  • that's how a vette should behave.

    well done.

  • still an IRS car???

  • Nice! I was lookin for this vid for awhile. This is with a parir of T4 67mm turbo's and a built 383. I've seen the car run in person, very strong and Paul is a super dialed driver for sure. And like any car getting turbo's, you have to build the engine stronger with forged parts that can take the added pressures of turbo's and high boost while keeping it all together.

  • The LS7 can be turboed or supercharged.

But be warned, its bearings cannot stay together at those power levels; since it will pull about 720hp.

The oil grade will lose its lubricating qualities due to high heat, pressures and rpms, And the bored out cylinder block is too thin.

This is why GM could not warrantee a supercharged LS7, so they went with a detuned or de-stroked or de literized version. The 6.2 liter with dry sump oil arrangements.

    COOL.

But if u have TITANIUM BEARINGS, block, hmmm?

  • you can get 900hp out of a 5.3 truck motor and use it as a daily driver...an ls7 is good for much more than 720hp

  • @melvinifudu personally seen plenty of 1000+hp forced induction ls7's, plan on working my way towards 700-750 whp in my daily driver and 1200-1300 in my 5.3 truck based block when i get back to the states. look up lmr's tt c6z

  • thats why an ls3 is a 6.2 funny they would destroke a 7.0 to make it a ls3 with a supercharger ?

    ls3+blower+dry sump = ls9

  • In a nutshell, you're correct. Correct as long as you don't include the fact that the LS9 uses a forged steel crank, and titanium rods, compared to a nodular iron crank and powdered metal rods found in the LS3. The cam profile is a bit different in the LS9, and there are some subtle differences in the clyinder heads as well. Minus the fact that the LS9 is supercharged, and uses a dry sump like you mentioned, these are the differences in the two that I can think of off hand. There may even b more

  • I may be wrong, but I don't think the LS9 has variable valve timing like the LS3.

  • seems like turbo corvettes are faster then supercharged ones?? fuck ligenfelter go turbs

  • Well obviously, drosin22, turbochargers take advantage of exhaust gasses that would of otherwise been wasted. They also take advantage of being a completely seperate object, if you'd call it that, they are not tied in with the serpentine system, such as a supercharger.

That adds up to less parasitic loss, and more power at equivalent boost levels. In most drag racer's opinions, superchargers are a thing of the past. 10.5 Outlaw racers are getting 2,000+ HP out of single turbo engines.

  • the reason gm went with the 6.2 vs 7.0 is beacuse there selling a car that is targeted towards a 911 turbo or the nissan gtr buyer someone that wants something they can drive 5-12k miles a year for 3-5 years then be able to sell it and the new owner do the same thing

ls7 supercharged would put out about 725hp how do you make 725hp reliable enough to sell it with a warranty im not sure how they do it with 638

  • WRONG, the reason they went with a 6.2 litre as oppose to the 7.0 is because the 6.2 is a destroked version of the 7. It would handle the extra pressure of the supercharger. Where do people come up with these comments. How do you know what the engineers were thinking regarding warranty and how much power the thing would make, you can detune any motor to make it strong but make less power for reliability. If only youtubers read more than they commented. Not trying to be rude just do some research

  • I hate to read between the lines, but if he socal1000 in a nut shell says its b/c of liability you say how do you know what the engineers were thinking Well the same way u know why they didntu probably read it some where man, lol. Also if Im reading your statement correct youre not completely correct as well. The LS9 is a supercharged 6,162 cc (6.162 L; 376.0 cu in) engine, based on the LS3; not a destroked version of the 7 the LS7 block was not used due to the higher cylinder...

  • ...pressures created by the supercharger requiring the thicker cylinder walls of the LS3. The LS9 is destroked small block yes; but the cylinders walls have a smaller bore which makes the cylinder walls thicker & thats technically why they didnt use the LS7.

  • 8.49, but how far did it go in 8.49 seconds?

  • This is a quarter mile track.

  • @gm556 quartermile

  • in a TT setup** my bad

  • awesome!!! i love the launch sound, sounds like a jet taking off.

  • damn that zosick halls ass

  • screams proud to be american

  • wow, i have nothing to say to that. just holy shit.

  • holy fucking shit

  • the car shouldve come with a red cape for the driver to wear. maybe we could cruise Targets paking lot on a Friday night in it together. the kids will go nuts

  • Whats the psi on those turbos?

  • what transmission? 2 or 3 speed powerglide?

  • 2 speed glide

  • thats what im talkin about!!

  • careful cause GM knows about TT and Superchargers, and still didnt put it on z06. There is a good reason. LS7 engine cant take it for long, if ran at high psi continuosly,.

  • not true at all....the LS block itslef can handle so much thats why people run such high power in them safely....so maybe you should watch it....let me put it this way if an LS block cant handle the power...im pretty sure your an import fan but maybe not...if an LS block cant handle the TT setup the 4 bangers definately arent...the v8 setup is the only one that can truelly and utterly bring out the best in a v8 setup..idk how anything from there up does havent seen enuff of em

  • if its not true about what i said previously, then why did GM use a slower V8 for the ZR1?

Look up ZR1 on utube or ask anyone who knows about OHVs, and they will tell u that the engine wall 4 d LS7 is thinner than the 6.2 Liter LS3. The thinner the wall, the more the Liters or Cubic inch, and the less pressure it could take if u have forced induction.

The LS8 is also derived from the LS3 not LS7. Thats why it also runs a supercharger. It can take it.

    LS1 needs upgrades 4 bearings. LS2 = good.

  • there is no such thing as ls8

  • Have you ever heard of this little car called the ZR1 from GM?

  • yeah, it has a ls9 engine which basicly a suped up super chargered 6.2 block. get ur shit straight

  • @Z06paul but the ZR1 is a supercharged LS3 (402). not a Superchared LS7 (427) Z06.

  • @MotoFreakkk i thought is was supercharged LS9. maybe not

  • @MangoSmoothie16 - they took the LS3 and souped it up and supercharged it cause the cylinder walls are thicker. it made more horsepower than the rest of the motors so they called it the LS9. get what im sayin?

  • @MotoFreakkk oh. okay. that makes sense.

  • @Z06paul

    I didn't think the LS7 was in the ZR1...

    I believe its the LS9

  • @Z06paul the ls9 and ls7 engines use totally different blocks though. what he is saying is partially right.

  • @Z06paul

Also the calleway in the old days

  • ur completly right the reason the ls9 didnt have the more potent ls7 block, was because it wouldnt be able to hold it

  • im not saying that thicker cylinder walls arent better, but you can get away with forced induction on LS7s. two guys i go to the track with both have built LS7s in c5s with serious juice. ones a 300 shot (fogger) and one is a 250 shot(fogger). both have lasted the whole season.

  • @melvinifudu nothing can take high boost for long...dumbass

  • @melvinifudu

What kind of idiot are you anyway?

  • @melvinifudu actually i think they just figured 505 horsepower was enough. ;)

  • @melvinifudu Actually they are probably the most durable block you can have period.

  • @vfIskullangel Thanks bro, melvinifudu really sounds like an import lover. Those skyline lovers, always kill me ,when they make commits like,o i would kill ,to get one of those cars. why , because without TONS TONS TONS TONS TONS TONS TONS of boost there nothing, those FOOLS , F CK all imports !!!!!!!!!

  • @vfIskullangel I agree.. The LS7s LSX motors are very durable. I am a more of a ford man but I give credit where credit is due. I have a few friends that run these engines with turbos and others with Nitrious and are running 1/8 mile times in the 5.70s for the last 2 seasons without doing any damage to the engines so they are proven good engines!! American made engines are a lot more durable than most people give them credit for. I have a ton of buddies running factory block 700+ hp racecars.

  • @melvinifudu Do you REALLY know, if an LS7 engine can take high boost for long ,careful cause im sencing your an import lover. with the tq & hp those LS7s put out do they really need to be boosted.Lets see LS7 has FORGED every thing ,Buick Gran National GNX versions ran constant 15+ lbs boost and lived for years, and those 3.8s where built weaker than the LS7s.

  • @melvinifudu that's not a ls7

  • Comment removed

  • @melvinifudu Where are you getting your facts... Oh and this isn't an LS7

  • @twztd28 and so what? LS9 maybe, and besides he had the AC on or else it woulda been 7s

  • @leonzr1 Its a 5.7L LS6, theres a big difference...

  • Is it a c5 z06 or a c6 z06. And whats the name one the twin turbo. And how many hp ? You mabye don´t known or ? THANKS =)

  • C5 Z06. Don't know what you mean by name on the twin turbo. Turbos were manufactured by Precision. When the car was tuned on "kill" it put down about 1,100 hp at the rear wheels.

  • that's some sick Vette ownage.

  • What was the 60' time?

  • 1.25

  • that is ridiculous. someone buy me one.

  • if darth vader were to chose a badass 2 door sports car-this corvette would be it.

  • Very nice run! That is one hell of a Vette. Just comes to tell you what a LS6 on stock Displacement can do!

  • I've always wondered what's that little box on the back of the car?

  • It's a parachute. I used it to slow down for toll booths on the NJ Turnpike ;-)

  • haha i should get one cause ez pass is 15mph

  • fuckin sick

  • Yes, Cartek built this car.

  • was it made by cartek by any chance

  • yes

  • Vette showing those ricers what a real

anti-lag staging and launch looks like

    Nice work.

  • Here's the interesting part. This run was made back in 2006. No stock diplacement LS6 car has run a better number to date. 346 cubes of whoop-ass. Most unfortunate part is that one of the guys who were instrumental in building this car was tragically killed in a car accident in October '08. One of very few guys I trusted to keep me safe in this car.

  • thats too bad man.

    RIP

he is probobly working on a brand new ZR1 up there now ;)

  • Man. That is horrible...

At the very least, he left a legacy.

  • Imports worst nightmare!.

  • if theres a god...he just ordered this car

  • holy shit... that was retarded. i bet that thing is scary to drive/ride in!

  • that SHOT off the line

  • u can get very good mpg with a vette but if ur floorin it all the time ur not guna get good mileage and its hard not 2 floor it

  • how bout another badass lsx powered product!

  • because they don't have one. :D

  • awesome run man, that take off was insane.

  • What a dickhead - thats a LS6 5.7L. Fuckin idiot!

1/2 of this people posting on these videos don't even have a damn license.

  • isnt an LS6 like 6ish L?

  • ls6 is 5.7. the ls2 in 2005 went to 6.0l

  • wow, very impressive, and big deal about the evo, its all wheel drive, id love to see what it could do on only its back wheels haha.

  • That's plain awesome.

  • just curious, about how much did you sell it for??

  • About $80,000

  • Comment removed

  • And Paul Major just ran his Z06 in Orlando 7.3 @ 208 mph on a drag radial. You're not comparing apples to apples.

  • Comment removed

  • And that Evo probably weighs half of a Corvette too. And it's over 1 second quicker. You really need to learn something about cars and technology before you spew useless shit.

  • dude your comparing awd to rwd...of coarse for a better part of that track the evo is gonna pull hard as shit cuz of its launch...but at the end of that track that corvettes gonna pull further away...make it any longer lets say you could stretch it 2 a half mile that vette is gonna make it look like a snail...there will be to much space inbetween that it wont even be funny

  • Hey Paul, why'd you sell it? just curious... with a car like that it'd be hard for me to let it go lol

  • Just too damn expensive ;-)

  • wow.

that shit almost took off the ground

    sick car!!

  • badass

  • I swear to god can someone start a new site? Youtube has gone down the shitter something fierce.

  • Well that answers my question.

  • Was I banned from this thread or is Youtube just being retarded as usual?

  • "bOOmface" if you had ever rided in a car like that you would know what the importance of ownin a car like that is.

  • what is the importance?

  • Damn thats is awesome. Thanks man I just needed some proof because some guys I work with they didnt believe that a care could go from 0-60 in under 2 seconds. I told them about that Lingenfelter vette that did it in 1.97 seconds and they said I was full of shit. I figured this one was faster. Thanks for helping me prove them all wrong.

  • Best thing about this car was that it accelerated to 60 mph on rear wheels while the front ones were still in the air.

  • Shit that is some power, and by the way I went on Cartek's website and I couldnt find the 346 kit.

  • That's because this is not a "kit." This was a custom design and installation. 1000+ hp does not come in an off-the-shelf "kit."

  • Oh I see, well do you have an idea of the estimated top speed of this vette

  • This car was set up for short distance racing (1/4 mile) so I have no clue. Highest speed I trapped in 1/4 mile was 159 mph. I'm sure that with the right transmission and gearing it could top 200 mph. So, tell your co-workers that while their cars go 0-60 mph in 8 seconds this car goes 0-160 mph in 8.4 seconds.

  • Thanks man, they dont have shit to say anymore and might I add that is one hell of a machine. *Sigh* to bad I will never own one because I will never have that kind of money.

  • while their cars use .01 gallons of gas in 8 seconds, yours uses 10 gallons.

  • always some pussy comes in and complains about fuel economy. dumbasses dont know that poeople who can afford this car dont care about mpg

  • exactly dumb shit. You homosexuals cry to others about how fast your car is and how much better it is when it comes down to basic physics and science, but that shit is waaay over your motor heads.

  • what the fuck are you talkin about? ur obviously a pussy with a slow car. any real man understands the importance of a fast car

  • of course you don't know what i'm talking it. I'm too smart for you. But what's the importance of a fast car? Makes your ego bigger? Please let me know.

  • I was someone like you once, until one day i rode in a z06 and my point of views completely changed. People who have this kind of money do not care about mpg, so if u were too smart like you just said, a person who cares about MPGs is a person who wants to economize, most probably meaning he doesn't have the money for maintaining a beauty like this. However, a person who does, like this man, could give a shit less about MPG.

  • Oookkk, you ever heard about MC Hammer? Or a billion other wealthy individuals who were rich one second and poor the next? It's always good to be frugal no matter how rich you are. I can't believe just because you rode in a z06 your views completely changed, you must be easily manipulated. By the way, it's "Couldn't give a shit less..." Anyhow, what I'm trying to get through thick skulls is simple, the more gas you burn, the more energy available...but obviously some people don't understand.

  • Also I would just like to clarify that this man probably studied his ass off in school, went to a nice college, and got a nice job which gave him the opportunity to own a car like this. I think he deserves to drive that car without having to take any bullshit from anybody.

  • referring to the statement, "So, tell your co-workers that while their cars go 0-60 mph in 8 seconds this car goes 0-160 mph in 8.4 seconds."

  • I'm sorry but you're suppose to be smart? Why the f*ck are you watching these videos if you're not into cars? To me you seem like a complete retard, not just unintelligent.

  • please tell me what made you think i'm a complete retard other than your dumb ass trying to act cool?

  • Sorry but I could care less what people on Youtube think of me. I do beleive I already stated what makes you an idiot. Try reading that helps sometimes...

  • wow you look like the one that's retarded; it's 'couldn't' care less, not could care less. You really suck at dissing people since you can't even restate what made me an idiot. Don't quit your day job man.

  • Well appearantly I'm replying to you so I obviously care enough to make fun of retards like you. Thus I could indeed care less by not responding or indicating in the first place. And if you're really that dumb and lazy that I need to restate what I wrote three comments down then I just feel sorry for you. But here you go stupid;"Why the f*ck are you watching these videos if you're not into cars?". Enjoy your attempt at reading.

  • haha you idiot, when did i state i wasn't into cars? Exactly. I was stating the scientific reasoning as to why the video posters car when faster than other peoples' he was talking about. That's good you can care less, that really is a pretty lame statement. Smart people use the couldn't care less because it actually has a logical impact as opposed to your lame insults, lol @ could care less. Enjoy your attempt at reading.

  • Making up fake quotes is what children do, is that what you are?

  • um when he said i could car less..........he is right he is saying he could be caring less....but he is staying at that point of caring

  • ooookkkk....?

  • excuse me, 'talking about."

  • You would be suprised what kind of mileage a Vette can get. Both my Vettes will get over 30MPG on the highway at 70 MPH.

  • hmm, wonder why many people aren't driving them for commuter cars then?

  • The price of them.

  • uhh they do,

And when they don't they are either keeping low miles on them, or keeping them clean.

My uncle drives his every single day from may to October.

  • lol wonder why the EPA estimates are super low than what you said.. usually their tests are on easy conditions too

  • Hey man one more question what was the 0-60 in that thing?

  • Estimated 1.3 seconds

  • Did you have the 427 CID TT Lingenfelter package in it?

  • No. Cartek 346 CID TT.

  • How much do those usually cost? If you dont mind me asking.

  • Depends on how quickly you want to go. It's a custom installation not a "kit" so it relly depends. I had over $100,000 into the car not including the cost of the car

  • Dang man I dont have that much money. I wish I did to do something like that.

  • Great vid! Keep up the good work!

  • Fucking sweet.

  • like killing a mouse with a nuke

  • I Love vettes, especially the zo6,come and get some Skylines, evos and porsches...!!

  • you would have a fun time trying to drive this on the street it would over heat like a mother F**ker

  • Why would it overheat? The car didn't run any hotter on the street than at the track. You need to learn something about cars before you provide such valuable feedback. I sold this car almost two years ago yet NOBODY has been able to run quicker than 8.49 with a stock cube LS motor so STOP HATIN'. THIS IS A 346 CID LS6 WITH STOCK HEADS AND HYDRAULIC CAM. But most of you have no phucking clue what that means so go back to shining your Civics. Phucking RICERS.

  • Easy tiger, I've met plenty of idiots who drove mustangs and corvettes.

That said, I agree with your comment, kids need to learn wtf they are talking about before saying shit.

Im curious though, why would you spend that much money to make your corvette THAT fast, and leave the heads stock? Yeah they arent bad, but even trickflow heads would net you some huge power at your level.

  • Honestly, because plenty of people said it couldn't be done with LS6 heads. Just like they said running more than 16 lbs of boost on an LS block wasn't possible. Or that spinning the motor to 7800 rpm with a hydraulic cam wasn't possible. Before I was offered the price I was asking for the car, we planned to change in 2007 to solid roller cam, forged crank, new heads, and slightly larger turbos. Money wasn't the issue. I just like proving people wrong.

  • I agree with Z06paul. Innovation is better!

  • the only rice id touch is a 240sx, but im not comprehending how you can make so much power w/out the engine running way hotter, and by the 'drive it on the street' comment also meant keeping it from breaking loose on the highway, or at least excersising enough restraint to, because i had trouble with my 69 camaro w/ a 383 built block, with the 4speed auto it was breaking loose if i gassed enough to downshift, and that was only with about 560bhp

  • It's not like you're constantly in boost and driving 160 mph on the highway so you overheat. I really don't get what you don't understand? There are plenty of 1000+ hp street rods that drive every day and don't overheat. I used a multi-stage boost controller that I could set for different conditions. Of course I would break loose if I just nailed it. That's why you ramp boost even at the track.

  • Haha Jim Oddy's Corvette can run a 6.07.

  • Yeah, must be a joy to run out on the city street, like the car in the above video DOES.... ;)

  • @ $165,000 I would hope it could run an 8.49! Nice ride btw.. but for those who hate ricers, plz research Brent Rau or John Shepherd. :)
