  • Say for just a tad of aging she still look the same. Still petite, cute and fine. She usually does the musical arrangements for the Grammys and other award shows.

  • she looks like a baby doll angel

  • Patrice Rushen is such cuteness. She looks really good at the 2:15 mark. What a cuttie!

  • She is so pretty. I wish I look like her.

  • She's a true shorty. Prince had a crush on her and wrote the song "I Feel For You" for her. Her record company had conflicts with Prince's co. Warner Bros., so Chaka Khan remade the song and the rest is history. Just some trivia for the hardcore fans

  • This was when dark-skinned women have their chance in the music industry. Now, it changed. I'm glad that I grew up in the late 70s to the mid 90s.

  • patrice is phenomen: nearly all of her compositions are great

  • She is so cute, I think Prince said that she was one of his first crushes. This lady is mega talented.

  • He has always liked taller women LMAO I'm wrong for that one....She is so cute though. I'm man about that dude jumping out of now where during 00:39 lol

  • Yep, that's true! See my comment below. :)

  • she was too cute dancin' at 0.24

  • Rushen is so cute and fun!

  • can you zshare this song or something?

  • That right Ricky Moss, Patrice music had ready to handle your business, very uplifting, we need move of that in that DAM music industry.

  • Patrice Rushen always had nice uptempo energy in her music...she looks so cute on this video...she always had that schoolgirl look...

  • For a stort time I knew a man who son gradutated high school with Pactrice Rushen, he told me she song for the gradutation.

  • I remember after this video premiered on BET, she said it took a day to film & most of the steps were choreographed the same day.

  • great classic, 1987, I was 15 went this joint came out.

  • I know. I was 10 in 1987 when they played this on the radio.

  • I was 10yrs old too. I still love this song.

  • daft punk sampled that joint

  • Man, this music is real quality and she is so beautiful!!!! I like the thing at 3:44 where she starts first in the line of dancers and is the last one too. Cool.

  • There is a current photo of her on her website, still looking gorgeous 20 years later :)

  • My God what a groove! Makes me dance!!!

  • i was wondering does ne 1 like have the bass tabs to this song coz i'd like to have it . i super love this song

  • aaww! the 80s! i wonder what was it like to live in the 80s?

  • i ask the same question.. how lucky some people were..

  • Fab!!!!!! (aged 46)

  • It was a lot like now, but I was younger, had less money, and the music was better.

  • Nothing like the 80's, good music, no BS was on the airwaves

  • i think patrice looks so cute and full of life on this video!

  • Lil cute self! I loved this song.

  • Super fine Patrice Rushen!!! One of the most talented performers of her time.

  • Still is !!!

  • Oh my flippin GOD, I remember hearing this in 83, loved it as a youth, thanx for posting

  • This song is beautiful, where was I when it came out, I never heard it at all in 1987 !

  • This was one of those songs I could listen to over and over. Patrice is very talented. Another song from this album though I couldn't find it on you tube.."Anything Can Happen" and I'm certain you will love that one too if you can get a chance to hear it.

  • I remember first seeing this song on BET back in 87. I used to have my VCR on standby when I wanted to record videos I like. I never heard the song, but I liked Patrice Rushen so I recorded it. I still love this song. She is so cute in this video!

  • Actually, she has always been very cute, just not in a loud, striking way. She looks rather short, though :)

Is this really 20 years old?! Sounds so fresh, the music a bit like Angela Winbush, the singing a bit like Janet Jackson.

  • Patrice had a very nice sound and fitted her.

Interesting thing some might not know is Patrice's mother, Ruth Rushen (who is just as small as Patrice) was the former Director of The California Dept of Corrections. Lil Mamma was the head woman in charge of all of the prisons in California back in 80s.

  • It didnt even break the top 75 in the UK. But people like Tony Blackburn on his show on the then Radio London gave it pretty good airplay and thats where I heard it. I bought the 12 inch with three different versions of this song and I couldnt stop playing it :o)

  • patrice rushen is not dead!

  • BEST!!!!!!

  • those dance routines remind me of that Feist video...

  • r.i.p.....

    SHE WAS THE BEST

  • shes not dead!?

  • Put down the crack pipe, Mmajisty.

  • Was this from her Straight From the Heart album?

  • Nope, as this song came out in 1987 from the Watch Out LP. Straight from the Heart came out in 1983

  • Superbe, Patrice Rushen

  • her music is still awesome and she is so cute

  • Patrice can dance...gotta love those moves towards the end wow!

  • She used to date Majic Johnson before He hooked up with Cookie.

  • AWESOME SONG!!

  • I agree, the delivery of a new Yamaha keyboard is worth heading down to the docks to collect and dancing about.

  • talk about a perfect woman...fwwaahh!!

  • OMG Patrice is so adorable in her little hat boppin down the dock! LOL

  • Fun video-

    Thanks for the Post!!

  • Top Ten R&B hits, including "Haven't You Heard," "Forget Me Nots," "Feels So Real," "Watch Out," "You Remind Me," and "Never Gonna Give You Up" from her first five albums (Patrice, Pizzazz, Posh, Straight From the Heart, and Now). Rushen also performed her single I Need Your Love on the hit show Soul Train in 1981. She also penned the opening theme for The Steve Harvey Show

  • i heard she was up to play dorothy in the wiz and they chose ole diana ross. Janet had turned it down.

  • omg this brings back memories! everyone was sporting this style. I lotta people didn't know this was all her real hair. she was the first alicia keys.

  • No the first Alicia Keys was Irene Cara. Patrice had a much more overall music talent then Alicia and Irene. But the vocal style and sentiment for Ms. Keys more closely resembles Irene.

  • Patrice YOU better 'watch out' when i come to Paris i want real kisses !!!!

  • i love her, and her music

  • She looks so pretty and cute in this video. I loved her then and still love the music. LOVING PATRICE RUSHEN!

  • This is a very good album. Every cut on it is wonderfully mixed and mastered. She used top notch musicians on the live tracks; she obviously know her craft and the profession.

Can't wait until her next project.

  • She is so cute in this! I started listening to Patrice when Now! came out, but Watch Out! is just so happy that I've listened to it more than any of her more well-known earlier albums. I've always thought that it was so cool that she could take a break from being a jazz piano virtuoso to cut loose like this and have some fun. She has been composing classical music lately, but it would be great to get a new album out of her.

  • and also she's a little dancemouse..

  • she is one underated artist she can write, play, arange, produce she does it all

  • It's a fun video makes me think of when I was little... love those silly 80's line dancers...every video had to have em

  • gosh she is beautiful

  • i had no idea rushen could dance as well, most talented female artist in r&b ever

  • PATRICE she's so beautiful,so talented I'm never going to forget her! she gave the best songs ever made

  • I used to love this song when I was little. I thought the outfit she had on was SHARP!! LOL

  • This has been posted before and removed because of "alleged" infringement. So I hope you all enjoy it while it lasts. Patrice was ONE of the bests. She had a GREAT voice and she was just purely talented. I truly wish that her song "WHEN I FOUND YOU" would be posted up here. That was the Love Song of all love songs. GO PATRICE

  • I love Patrice! Great singer, a knockout back in the day, creative with her music, and had brains to go with it. :)

  • Thanks for posting;)

  • Great!
