@DiamantDogma Maybe you are searching for Gregorian and Ambrosian Chant. (but this piece is orchestral) In fact, this takes the two first verses of the Dies Irae chant, composed by Tomás Celano, biographer of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Inspired by O Fortuna, obviously. The opening is too blatant. But the rest of the song seems original enough. Then again, I don't listen to much of Carl Orff.

Clearly inspired by "O Fortuna" but I wish the opening wasn't such a rip. At least it redeems itself in the second half. Or I could be mistaken and that too could be another rip.

Near was very different from L. Though L was certainly a better investigator when it came to dealing with poeple, Near was just as ruthless as Light. To him, it was all just a test, one big game. And you know what he said. "If you can't win the game, if you can't beat the puzzle... Then you're just a loser."
As for this song....It should use ALL the Lyrics of the Dies Irae poem, and that way it could have a duration of at least 7 minutes, but its great anyway.
Fuck all of you who mess with Near and Mello. Yes L was better but he FAILED. Near and Mello, separate are less better than L, but together, they surpass him. Prove of this is the fact that they actually defeated Kira.
@zxscd Well there was Mikami's and Takada's mistakes...not to mention Mello "realized" that they had to work together in the end...Near is one lucky bastard.
It's the fight of two powers, deciding the fate of the world. Light versus L. This epic theme fits the anime perfectly. Probably the greatest thing ever animated. Death Note is more than an anime; it's a masterpiece.
@minilogshannon near won because 1.) mello captured takada to cooperate with near. 2.) mikami made a move because of this and revealed the real notebook. 3.) from 1 and 2, near is one lucky bastard. Light didn't make a mistake in the end. However, if Mikami was really the type to do such then made a mistake in choosing Mikami in the first place, but he didn't make mistakes "in the end"
They wanted to end the show fast, dunno why..Or the writer was bored..I could accept light losing but not being so easily outsmarted. And they should make a bigger reference to L at least. He was much more intelligent in my opinion than any of the chars of Death note, with Light being slightly behind,he even khew he would die from a shinigami before be was killed:P I didnt really like Near in the end:S
@BlakeXsniper I think the Near and Mello arc counts as a second season...sort of. You know, in the manga, there's this "C-Kira" part that sorta counts as a continuation
@ndogkik The problem with your brilliant logic here being that they wouldn't have brought in Near would it not have been for L dying. Near was a sheltered orphan with no way to confront anybody, much less Kira.
Besides, he wouldn't have lasted nearly as long as he did were it not for the information that L had gathered. And Kira would have won were it not for Near taking the torch. How would he have done that if Kira had already beat him?
@Wolfang44 you just got accustomed to L to not give Near a chance. You fail to realize that Kira slipped up in watching his adversaries movements and therefore Near struck. L most likely would have done the same had he not been killed by the man/girl shinigami :3
