opinion. Trying to cope with something that has greatly impacted me, my close friends, and everyone around me is a hard thing to do in life. Seeing the negative comments that continue are very disheartening and hurtful to me. I am a sensitive person and have a different perspective of the world and am trying to learn from everyone and their different perspectives; such as your perspective Ridor along with many other people and their perspective.
Not only your perspective, Ridor. I do not personally know you, but I did know Fleischer.
And yes, people are human and make mistakes. If people decide that they want to continue to discuss the mistakes that is their decision.
My reason for this Vlog was to gain understanding. And to understand-Why do people focus on the negative/mistakes, when this man Dr. Fleischer has had a great impact on many things. why not have a positive outlook instead of always negative? You are entitled to your
I understand, this happens daily with the Hearing world and how they like to use mass media to expose people. I am realizing that this is the way the world works.
And everyone has the right to their opinion, just like I have the right to mine and you have the right to yours. I felt and continue to feel conflicted because I have not personally experienced anything like this. I am risking putting myself out in the open via my Vlog because I want to know other people's perspective
I understand your Vlog and you have your freedom of speech. I wanted to share how I was feeling about the continued bashing of Dr. Fleischer after his death. I never asked for you to remove this Vlog. I wanted the Deaf perspective.
One last thing, don't tell me to remove the vlog (which was produced a month before Dr. Fleischer's death) - and don't ever make a threat to me via private message/email/IMs about it. If the media did not remove many video clips about Michael Jackson's allegations on the day of his death, why should I?
The vlog remains. With his death (yes, it is tragic), the vlog became a part of history, like it or not.
Why do you think Gallaudet's Board of Trustees immediately terminated Dr. Fleischer from serving on the Board about 2 weeks after I exposed of his treatment towards 6 victims. I also learned that it was not the first time that Larry has had wronged several organizations and individuals.
True, he did contribute tremendously to our community and I respect that. And I thank him for that. But he's also a human being. Don't make him a martyr because he is not.
Deaf communities has not falling apart as it seemed (or as you claimed it to be) to be, it is just that we are becoming knowledgeable in utilizing the mass media.
What happened with Dr. Fleischer in DC was despicable. I did all the journalistic methods. I contacted the sources, victims and perpetrator to verify. Only the perpetrator declined to respond. I contacted the bank that handled the foreclosure as well as DC agency.
GW: I certainly enjoyed your vlog from your perspective. For years, Deaf people always squabbled amongst each other. Just like hearing people do. Hearing people has many avenues: Radio, television, film, media, internet, organizations, groups, 1-on-1. Deaf people are *utilizing* very same thing that benefits hearing people as whole.
Yes, Dr. Fleischer's death was tragic. He left CSUN in stronger hands under Dr. Rosen & Dr. Gentz.. I have no doubt in that. (con't)
gw05smiles, after looking around a bit, I have to agree with you. There's a time for everything and now is definitely not the time for what we continue to see.
I understand that it was posted a month ago, but knowing that comments continue degrading Larry is still not right or appropriate. People should remember the great contribution he made to the Deaf WORLD!!
Thank you! :) I am very angry for a cruel bastard who made the nasty degradation toward Larry bec he made a little mistake esp his financial hurts him in some ways. This is how I see it + will always respect for what he achieved to reinforce our ASL Ed + our visual languages for our Deaf human beings for our future. I know in my heart he made a big difference all along. Hope his spiritual see what I had to say even though I personally dont know him. with him all the way, no matter what. Peace

I see where you come from. It is good idea to preserve goodness and forgive the sins.
The foreclosure vlog was made before Larry died. However, it was a public 'flogging' which was a good lesson for us to learn.
We haven't forgot Larry's great contributions.
History is history. We learn to live with it. It is important for us to do right thing the first time and forth on.

gw05smiles, I feel your pain during this time. Larry was a classmate of mine at Gallaudet many years ago and he was a cool guy.
The person you are referring to is a shock jock but would it make you feel better knowing he wrote that piece a month before Larry's passing?
You hang in there; Larry would want you to........
