First i don't wanna mess with you but i've discovert some minor mistakes in your text

"I tried to be honest and good", "Right in the spot where I began", "The certainty I so adored", "I'll give him to my perish", (and at least he is where the metaphores) "are not comforting anymore". although I think that this is a great song and Milow himself is a great songwriter. oh and by the way thumb up for the work =)

This is a really wonderful and also meaningful song I stumbled upon accidently.

And my own humble opinion is:

God never left, but indeed was there.

I think, he still is, but we just lost the ability to note his actions.

song is about that even a devoted man can lose his trust in the lord, when he goes trough hard times ("I've seen enough...") and becomes old without getting only one evidence of the excistence of god...
