Biologically we are born either male or female, we are not born men and women- the social structure of the society in which one lives determines this status.
Just because one happens to be of the male or female gender, does not automatically suggest that he or she is also to be considered a man or woman within their respective society.
There is much more to being a man or woman than the ability to pro-create.
There's no biological basis that differentiates men or women beyond our roles in procreation? So gender is simply a social construct, that essentially a woman and a man are the same thing. It's simply our patriarchal society which programs women to act like women?
I thought my points were quite clear- again, within a society, the social translation of man and woman goes well beyond the observation of ones gender.
Quite obviously within our society there exists physically matured males and females alike who often behave as little children as a result of their arrested development. Therefore, one could not possibly consider warranting such a title of man or woman to beings with such limited mental capacity solely because of their physical resemblance.

However, the number of single women is on the rise. The age at which women are having their first child is on the rise. The age at which most women marry is on the rise.

Just because one happens to be of the male or female gender, does not automatically suggest that he or she is also to be considered a man or woman within their respective society.

Quite obviously within our society there exists physically matured males and females alike who often behave as little children as a result of their arrested development. Gender is of course always decided prior to or at birth; whereas the distinction between man/woman-hood vs male/female is distinguished based upon ones maturation within society or lack thereof.
All words have more than one choice of diction (hence- dictionary) which can then be chosen by the orator of speech, or the author of written language as what shall then be considered the definition.
What you perceive as a change of English, is actually a misinterpretation of how words are defined.

Man, pre-nups rarely hold up. There is a lot of real legal precedence, of them being completely ignored. All that civil courts care about is civil law, which doesn't operate on agreements. Only the federal government can uphold legally binding contracts, and no lawyer would allow a divorce case to move up to federal jurisdiction, when, in the civil dispute and divorce they can make you pay him lots of money.
