You need 2 gophers, because if one gopher is on a high shelf then you need to get it using the other gopher, and if one of the gophers is stolen by a real gopher you're going to need to rip the gopher out of the real gophers hands using your second gopher.

It's actually a very good product. My grandmother uses it to pick up her paper from the front step since she can't bend down to get it because of her arthritis. I used it myself to pick up some stuff that fell between my front stoop and the bushes next to it. Had I not had the Gopher, I'd have had to jump down there and get scratched by branches.
