  • sick hair <3

  • Hmmm how old is this video..?

they look like little boys, i love it.

  • Oops... It was addressed to "missmacabre0013".

  • And what the fuck are you doing then?

  • wasn't the director of this video anton corbijn?

  • I can believe how awesome this video is! this is my favorite ATDI song. amazing

  • what the hell is wrong with these men?

  • What the band or the subject of the video?

  • the video

  • the band are doing a good thing

  • in which case I agree, whats the government doing through all of this? nothing, it's sickening.

    Freaking awesome song though.

  • ATDI

  • i really like this song...

    The Rhythm...

    The Riff...

  • lol your kidding right?!!?

  • you're dumb

  • well thats kind of true, but the "mexicans" or "fresas" have to go back home ha

  • is the point of this video that mars volta is killing all these women?? they linger in every shot like a villainous rapist in the shadows.

  • Hey rednailsbluelips it's not Mars Volta. Point is that women in Juarez being killed and no-one doing anything about it. American companies set up factories in Juarez employ local for minimal wages but don't want to help with the social problems in the area. They just want the cheap labour. the cops and goverment wont do anything because of the drug cartels and organised crime in the area. The problem is that this song was made at least 5 years ago and nothing has changed in Juarez. Very sad.

  • mars volta is one of the spinoff bands that came from the demise of atdi - the other was a band called Sparta, who're much more chilled.

  • Sparta sucks!

  • Dude i saw this vid when i was like 12........And im perfectaly fine now.

  • Dancing on the corpses ashes, what a great line. I know this song is about something specific but that applies to our whole society. As long as we're happy and comfortable we can dance while others suffer. The most important thing you can do in this life is to make someones life better, but sadly the rich like to stay rich and don't like to think about tradegies like this. I love this band and what they accomplished in such a short time...

  • Probably the best comment I've ever read

  • i live in

    el paso.

    now everyone is

    scared to go

    to juarez cause

    of the drug wars.

  • I live there too. Now all the 18 year olds don't wanna risk getting drunk in juarez

  • Hmm... Why is it that way, bambi112u?

  • well you see cause you can legally drink in mexico at 18 so all the white kids will go there, but now since there's a shit load of people dying they're not going over to juarez

  • so poetic, they are amazing

  • *tear*

  • I have always loved this song and never knew what it was all about. I thought it was just a mellowed out song about everyday life. But after seeing this video for the first time today, I cried. I never knew how the song was about such horrible events that happend near their hometown. Great song and it was great for them to do this in dedication for all those who have died such a fucked up way. ATD-I forever!!!

  • I just posted another music video version of this song that I made if anyone's interested.

  • Este video ya tiene su tiempo y siguen apareciendo cuerpos en Ciudad Juarez, que triste.

  • Great video, ATDI it was a great band!!!

  • en esta banda creo que esta uno de los mars volta??

  • en el banda the mars volta ay 3 members de at the drive in. Omar Rodriguez Lopez, Cedric Bixler Zavala, y Paul hinojos

  • always loved this wicked powerful song, such a great video !!!!!

  • i'm a paramedic...i've always liked this song just cuz he mentions "paramedics"

  • this is really creepy

  • Dam this video is the shit im from el paso too and that shit means alot

  • viva mexico

  • gahh this video...

i love it when videos have something to show... not totally pointless you know?

im so stuppid haha i hated these guys for the longest time cause my older brother played them ALL THE TIME... but now i totally love them! :/ stupid sister for not listening to the coolest brother alive haha...

    amazingness

  • this station is non operational

  • I love ATDI. This is a greate video... and I like how they care and show everybody the situation here in Mexico... I'm tired of all this Juarez situation, anyway... there's nothing I can do... :-(

  • THATS F'ED

  • that riff effin rocks!

  • sorry sundance im kidding can i add u to my friend list :)

  • you're sooo american m8...31, no live and behaving like a kid...but no worries i still love you.

  • i love the pattern morons like u use to insult ppl. 1. you start with somethin like "retard, idiot" although you've never been offended by them before 2. you go for other people mums, maybe cause your own never loved you? 3. you challenge people to come along although you exactly know they'll never be able to show up...i mean c'mon who would like to go to ohio to beat the shit out of a moron like you?(waste of time+money)

have a nice day...after reading your nice comment i'm sure i will.

    smooch

  • ahhhhh does this mean we cant be friends? you said you love me how could you say that and not meen it? btw i said IF your ever in the states near Ohio let me know i didn't invite you just for that. also i said nothin bout fighting that solves nothing. your too violent thats no way to be.

  • lol

  • LOL

  • Why are you laughing this it's not funny this is really scary when you live right there and have one of your family members be one of them. This is something real and very cruel.

  • i don't think he's laughing at the video, he's laughing at the conversation going on above this

  • Ok good i was about to have bitch fit,....=)

  • Suck shit dog, you got told. Hahahahaha about time fools like you got a mouth full. Good work Th3SundanceKid.

  • I wouldn't say that only a few bands do that. The music industry is full of trendy coffee-shop wannabe activists trying to make a political statement with their unlettered lyrics.

  • duro contra eso culeros racistas que ni saben que pedo con nosotros aca en mexico. pinches gringos puñeteros jajaja... ke va carnal.

  • mexicans are disorganzized cause the us wants them that way and aimed in history to become 'em that way...otherwise you wouldn't have your slavelike housekeeper in your hollywood mansion...or these neat slave factories as shown in this vid. i hope you get what irony is.

  • You are correct but I see it differnt. When I go to a concert I try to forget about the political bullshit. I go to have fun dance mabey a little alcohol &drugs. My point is I don't wana have someone force their beliefs on me cause they have a microphone. We all remember when the Dixi Chicks, Eddie Veder and Green day tried to. It got really ugly. That is just a few bands the list sadly goes on.

  • the problem IS that you go to a concert tryin to forget about the political bullshit...just the way you do when you work, take a shit...or live your everydays live...THATs why there are bands trying to wake up those who live their modest lives and usually don't care about politics as long as the gas is cheap and the taxes low or as RATM once screamed out into the world "now you're under control, now you do what they told YA!"

  • what cheap gas you idiot?

  • well, you don't pay $8.45 and more (!) a gallon in the states, so its cheap you moron.

  • thats the same price your mom charges so im told. why dont you do the world a favor strap on a bomb and blow yourself up you cockroach

  • Thats cuz your gov dosent want refinerys to drill for oil. So i guess its kinda a trade off. oh yeah and now we pay like 1.95 a gallon.

  • refineries don't drill for oil. They refine oil that's been extracted.

  • okkkkkkkkkkkkkk. But you get my point. Your county dosent drill for oil.

  • Your point was somewhat incoherent, and though I *sort of* understood it it shows that you don't understand our energy situation.

  • Well at least you Sort Of understand. Just move to america. Youll love it here.

  • I'm from America doofus, that's why I know, that:

    A) refineries don't drill for oil, and

    B) reducing it to a question of drilling for oil is simplistic and short-sighted.

  • the end of this song is easily some of the best few seconds of rock ever.

  • i went to see a play in LA called the women of juarez and it was about this

    it was very very sad

and it angered me that this is happening

  • Chilling yet informative.

    love ATDI

  • i luv this song even though it 's about such a ed up problem

  • This is nothing new it has been happening in Mexico for years. True facts about life in Ciudad Juarez. Daily girls get rapped and end up dead. For doing nothing wrong... just for trying to provide mere 100-200 dollars every two weeks to feed their families or brothers and sisters... working 12 hours shifts in companies that provides no medical or dental benefits what so ever.

  • this is a shame

  • yes... well... n america we havediversity like all otercuntries. We have intelligent people ad we have us some dumb motherfuckers.

  • If that is not the most dumbest comment I have ever seen I dont know what is.....

  • u huh yup *bored*

  • lol really

  • give me a few shotguns ill make sure no women are even spoke to wrong. ill part of the shoot first ask questions later. and b4 you reply no im not kidding

  • umm dude thats not really an option here.

  • what?? just stating what i would do. really u had to type UMM? quit being a little bitch. we can all type what we want then u pop up like ur "above" some people. ass

  • lol the funny thing is, is that youll probley get away with it in mexico.(not talking about the killings)

  • yeah its really sad it brings a tear to my eye seriously no jokes its sad very sad =(

  • i agree this stuff does happen dont be ignorant people

  • todo el mundo sabe que tanto el gobierno mexicano como la policia y demás estamentos saben lo que ocurre en ciudad juarez...arderán en el infierno

  • damn straight

  • At the Drive In and Mars Volta are fucking amazing. Blows me away.

  • they tried to pin it all on an egyptian guy called sharif sharif, who was found guilty of murder and sexual battery, i think 4 bus drivers are in jail now but they always said he was the ring leader, he died in jail about 2 years ago i think

  • really?

  • after the video, the song makes sense now!

  • Fuck!!! Ths guys rock! Jim and Cedric have both amazing voices!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is an amazing song. By an amazing band.

  • Lay off Paramore guys,

Covering a song is showing respect and admiration for the band that originally sung it, and Paramore happens to be a fan of ATD. You're a fan too. So what?

  • paramore are terrible.

    so awful

  • this fuckin rules!

  • i love atdi

    its the shitt

  • The Wedge rocks, well it used to rock alot more. But it still beats what they play normally.

  • this song freakin rocks!!!!!!!!!!! i love at the drive in and paramore so stop the hating i was just wondering because they use a line from this song in the new here we go again ending but im not trashing at the drive in ok they rock!

  • Fuckin Righteous

  • everybody!!! READ THIS!!!!!...at 4:24...it is supposed that its a photo...but the guy at the right you cn see that he moves the head!!!!...

  • They are awsome! just discovered 'em!

  • who gives a fuck about paramore

  • they're using the "dancing on the corpse's ashes" part. Let's just hope they don't use "Lazarus threw the party" line from Sleepwalk Capsules or the "Sink your! Sink your teeth in" line from Arc Arsenal.

  • lol yeah thats so much!

  • Man, at 4:44...what a fuckin' scream.

  • Reminds me a little bit of Chris Cornell's screams.

  • this here is one of the biggest songs ever made

  • greatest song from the greatest band ever.

  • anton corbijn!

  • so they pre-dig up graves?

    that is sad

  • ALTO = STOP?

    ALTO = tall?

  • Yeah, both.

  • Yeah, actually, it's a matter of context.

  • tall and high.

  • focus on problems because there needs to be solutions and people need to be accoundable for there actions.

  • As a fully mexican I like the band's music, but why do this new bands focus on problems and not on solutions!

  • have you got a solution to this problem? I'd love to hear it.

  • Man I love this song! Genious XD

  • not only is this a great song, but the point of this song is a good one.

maquiladoras are types of factories ran by OUR government, but are in effect somewhere in or near the outskirts of mexico and such

  • ie sweatshops

  • who is stiotrion29

  • good song.

    video.

  • PuRo jUaReZ.. ChIh. MeX...

  • It is*

  • It it invalid litter dept...

  • It is Litter. I, among hundreds of other hundreds of thousands of people have this album. Anyway, this is an awesome video. Don't see this in the mainstream media, that's for sure. Over 500 woman, unsolved. My god. What is wrong with people?

  • Got the CD. It's litter alright.

  • greatest band of all time

  • Its litter, not letter.

  • such a good song. i think its great when bands make songs to create awareness about problems.

  • I'm looking at the Relationship of Command track list right now.

    It's litter, not letter.

  • At the end of the video, it says 'Invalid Letter Department.'

Though pretty much everywhere else says Litter.

    Hard to say.

  • tmv should make songs similar to this!!!

i mean there songs r cool and all...

  • I grew up in El Paso and Juarez, and still have family and friends over there. This video gives me the chills and makes me angry and sad at the same time. Kudos to ATDI for this.

  • No it's not dumbshit.

    It's Invalid Litter Dept.

  • K well If it's on the CD then I guess it's litter, but iTunes had it up as letter so thats where I got it from.

  • hahahahhhh, he sure is.

  • i've only heard cedric singin in the mars volta wich is one of my fav. bands, here's the sound quite different but its fuckin amazing!

  • sorry was meant to say immense

  • absolutely emmense song. awesome.

  • because FOB and Panic! have to be panzies about everything, medial-obsessed panzies that are just out for girls and popularity.

Guys who act like girls are popular.

But guys who act like men, and put out messages like this, aren't, unfortunately.

  • Also they're playin the style of musik the way they want... not tryin to do it for everybody else cuz once u start playin wat everybody else wants to hear u forget wat u want to hear which alot of the time is wat sounds good in my opinion look at the greats such as miles davis, John coltrane, dizzy gillespie to name a few although there r hundreds more

  • omg that response just gave me a headache

  • ...what?

  • this is youtube, what the fuck do you think?

and so what, he's a man for getting up and singing about what he does, maybe not a man in his actions, but mentally, and people like you who judge by how someone preforms and not what's underneath honestly shouldn't be watching these videos or even listening to the band in the first place, so see to that.

  • youre an idiot. surfacing idiot.... hoe the hell would you dance to this?? youll be standing and loitering around^^

cedrics movements are absolulty perfect for his music

  • oh yeah i forgot

this is the first song im hearing from this group but it kicks ass i like the message they're trying to get across

    sweet song

  • i had to write my last post in short hand and computer slang because of the character limit -_-'

  • this is what i love about youtube u can go frm talking about how great a band sounds 2 what genre they r or should b or how they r labeled 2 where ppl come from if they r homo if they r unclefuckers or not how ignorant their mommas r etc. like really now people don't get mad but CHILL THE FUCK OUT! comment if u like it or w/e if u dont like the band get the fuck out of here and if u c some dipshit just pity them dont go 2 their level because they will beat u with xp

  • This is a great song!

It really addresses a problem that is a horrific one.

And the screaming at the end..shows so much anger..and pain..love it!

  • awesome song tho :)

  • damn. ive never seen this video. but ive heard the song a million times. musically, its a brilliant song. but now after seeing the video, the lyrics make a lot more sense. i hate when bands get all political but video did a great job covering a huge problem. it didnt really push the issue, but just gave a bunch of facts. and the screaming at the end, i can see how it would bother ppl, and most screaming in songs is bothersome to me too, but i think in this song it shows the emotion of the song

  • on my way

    nails broke and fell

    into the

    wishing well...

I love their lyrics. But when Cedric starts screaming at the end it just tears up my stomach.

  • sad stuff...

  • I get shivers.

  • there so much crap happening in the world. there needs to be a mass uprising.

  • what a vague statement. . .

  • The guy obviously wants all the crap to rise up against it's oppressors who flush it down the toilet.

  • the sort of thing an angry teenager would say - aimless rebellion

  • haha

  • y would you want to lock an artist you like into any genre-if you really respect what their doing

  • what u said is so true, genre is meaningless if u're using it other than as a loose guide of styles, music is more complex than tagging artists to certain groups, and artists would lose their originality by limiting themselves to certain genre

  • thats kinda what i figured

  • all these ridiculous god damn sub genres give me a fucking break. i remember the good ol days when i could call a group either metal, punk, hardcore, pop, rock, rap without some mother fucker trying to say "noooo thats METALCORE" or "noooo what are you talkin about man thats not death metal its MELODIC PROGRESSIVE STONER BLACK METAL". shut the fuck up

  • haha but hardcore is a subgenre of punk so u just shot urself in the foot

  • oooo yes you are right good sir! i did shoot myself in the foot there. but, still, you catch my drift. i could tell the difference between hardcore and punk but since the past decade i cant tell the difference between a lot of the sub-genres of metal. too many for me to handle! i still dont understand what POST-hardcore really is....

  • yeah i know what u mean, apprently post hardcore its a more complex version of hard
