Seems like a fun little action-adventure/dungeon crawler that you'd play with a few friends for shits and giggles. I'd probably play it if I had a 360.

I'm pretty sure Joe has to finish playing the games that he's reviewing before actually giving us the review. This is kind of a holdover/sneak-peek at the game so you can see how it plays, rather than talk a bunch of shit about it like most would w/o so much as a screencap.

the only thing i hated about dead rising was the timer and they tried to use the ability to make killing zombies funny and they did it even more in the second one but it just doesnt work but other that that it was a great game

Reminds me of Gauntlet, Rune, and The Immortal. Melee deathmatching (no magic spells) was fun in Rune. The spells were kinda lame. It was amazing that they managed to port The Immortal onto the NES. Regardless of version, that game was ridonkulously hard! It was kind of like Solstice (isometric view + you play as a wizard) with more artsy graphics and a somewhat tedious one-on-one combat mechanic.

It weird that all these types of games just continue to do the same stale thing. Warrior, mage, assassin/rogue. All three completely static and uncustomizable and generic fantasy setting. How about let US create our own characters, how they look, their stats, their class, etc. And give us a good story that has branching paths and an ambiguous motive. Give us something NEW. We want to customize our very own character, and we want an immersive and dynamic story. So frustrating!

I thought the game looked very simplistic at first, with the very limited abilities. But then when they got to the equipment part, I can see that you can actually adapt your own playstyle to the class.

The wizard does seem a bit too good, though. Especially because it can blink around as much as it want and thus become immortal.

I like the purchase system, but I think they should give players the option to try out the classes before paying for it. Just an empty room to practise would be good.
