  • Instead of buying stupid hand "pulls", which you cannot use safely, spend the money on a proper chainsaw course!! After that, buy some proper kit!! After that, SHARPEN your chainsaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Missed the can by only 20FEET! 20 ft the other way and it would have smashed you and your little camera. I hope you feel stupid... and even though you sharpened your saw it still cut like shit. Do yourself a favor and do some research on tree felling!

  • Future Darwin Award Winner right there folks.

  • DO NOT CUT A TREE DOWN LIKE THIS IDIOT DID!

  • What kind of a notch is that, you are so lucky to not get hurt man

  • video started out good .. was pondering what was up with the notch, but as you said, it was to snap it.. not what i would have done though.

the frightening thing however was the complete lack of safetygear .. no ear or eye or helmet or chainsaw pants or boots ..

i like the video, nicely done, but next time, SAFETY .. plz .. for your own sake.

  • Nooo! What are you doing? Worst notch ever, and no back cut = no control. You need to take this down, or label it "How NOT to take down trees no matter what you're using"

  • Rofl, and u calll this safe? u dont even wear saferty saw gear : / and ear muffs

  • DO NOT DO THIS! Unbelievably dangerous. This guy will be a Darwin Award winner soon.

  • tweakin on that pie cut haha! looks like you had fun tho!

  • This guy has no clue. I wonder how much shiz this guy destroys?

  • This guy has no clue. I wonder how much shiz this guy destroys?

  • Darwin award?

  • I could of had that tree down in 3 cuts n would of been alot safer, iv only been doing tree work for a year n I'm still learning form every fell.

  • "Power pull" eh? Round here (NE US of A) you might say "cable winch" or "come-along" to get the msg through.

Looks like that red pine is only about 15" diameter.

  • this has to be a joke.... 15', oh well?!?!?

  • @teslanik

I'm sure this guy can take 15" better than he can fell a tree.lol

Seriously don't do anything this guy does in the video, he knows not what he does.

  • this has to be a joke....

  • Whoever sold you that saw should be kicked in the nuts. You have no clue what you're doing.

  • Absolutely horrible. Please stop "teaching" tree-felling to others and learn something.

  • A fucking come along, for real alll you had to do was notch and and cut from the back side I can't beleive people are that fucking retarded it took more effort to do all that shit when u could of had it down in less then a minute

  • I could cut a tree better when I was 7 u fucking pussy

  • Is this a joke?

  • i have never put tension on a tree as a go back a redo the notch... seems a little different

  • It's called a "come-a-long

  • hehehehe was that jason donovin from neighbours....your first cut was way to big,you dont look like you know what your doing chap.i think we might be seeing you again in the chainsaw accident section soon me thinks...

  • DUH I cutted a tree

  • You bloody idiot!! 15' off and you think you are doing it safe and will avoid damage. you maybe avoided doing damage to property because there was none where you were felling.

You have done 30 trees. do you not think that the techniques commonly used today have been developed, thought of and perfected over many years by people who have dropped thousands of trees?

  • Is this a joke? Pack it up before there's damage done or someone gets hurt... or worse! Get a pro!!

  • i like his chaps

  • Please, if you need to cut a tree don't use this video as instruction. So many things are wrong and dangerous. Face cut too big, no back cut, no safety gear, the saw should be sharper. The list goes on. Hire a professional.

  • You are fuckin' insane. Your face cut is all wrong that's why you missed your can by 15 FEET? that's ridiulous that's way off.. And putting that come along on that tree was dumb, If that tree decided to fall the other direction and that come along was tough enough it would of pull that other tree on you or the cable could have snapped and killed yourself. And the way that STHIL was cuttin' it was obviously not sharpend enough. STHIL's suck but they can do better than what i just saw there.

  • @CountryRebel2284 "That STHIL wasn't cuttin" i meant. sorry.

  • @CountryRebel2284 STIHLS a good saw son, but this fella sure aint the one to run the high ideling unbroke saw- still had carboard box dust on it...

  • @jbr1074 STIHL is a decent saw yeah but i'll choose an old 80's Husqvarna over anything anyday ;]

  • @CountryRebel2284 Yeah- The OLDER huskeys are a DAMN good saw- JonSered the same, but when husky went with the big-box hardware stores, the quality went to sh!t!!

  • what is he doing poor saw he has killed it

  • This here is a "JOKE" right? Maybe a new yorker would be so stupid even to post this dangerous ass vid...Please if only, consult your owners manual. Duhhhh!!!!!!!! You need help......

  • are you related to Drew from the expert village?

  • Talk about being a ballbuster. Jesus Christ!

  • You sir are a dumb ass.

You are going to get your self hurt one of these days.

  • I thought that you filed that chain maby not but your face cuts could use some work that is why you missed the can by so much.

  • Comment removed

  • Imagine if he hadn't sharpened the chain! And I love how he says "oh well" when he misses the can, what if that had been a house he was trying to avoid instead of a can?

  • whatd you do run your chain through a pile of gravel before cutting!?

  • 15 feet!?

  • Time for a new file and some wedges

  • fuking idiot!

  • Holy Crap! Give the saw away. Tie yourself to the porch with a powerpull and watch as someone else who has a clue fells those trees... Please!

  • Comment removed

  • this is not a good learning video at all. please leave all tree felling to the professionals.

  • and to add on to that..... im not tooo sure he knows how to sharpen a chain and tighten a saw properly. that is a dull chain!!!! dull chains are very dangerous!!!

  • thanks i need to cut down about 50 trees for a path

  • damm should of just wedged it and done it the right way.

  • what a load of crap. trick of the trade axe. oh he must be in the trade then?

  • was he trying to hit the can he talks about in the end of the video? 15' off.... WOW

  • holy f***ing shit! Is it a "How-Not-To-Do"?

  • Wow! an excellent example of how NOT to drop a tree. Consult any professional guide and then watch again. How many dangerous errors can you find? The most dangerous people are those who don't know what they don't know. Hope he's still alive.

  • no safty glasses dull saw... no steel toe boots No back cut.... heck I dont even cut trees and I know that :p

  • No boots, chaps, hearing protection, safety glasses, notch was ugly and done wrong, no back cut, saw looked very dull, hope there's something else in life your good at cause you're no good at tree cutting !!

  • Sharpen your saw, and take down your rakers

  • You are absolutely correct this guy is laughable and claiming to be safe at the same time? That is worst scarff Ivé ever seen cut. And that saw wouldn't cut a loaf of bread (see the fine dust?).

  • Yeah Magoo, i cut trees around power lines, some lean toward the power line and what i do is use an 8' sling shot to shoot a 1lb.beanbag with a string tied to it through the branches 3/4 way up the tree. Then tie a 1/2"nylon rope(200') to string, pull rope through tree, tie a "running bowline". Other end of rope connected by "bowline on a bight" to a block and tackle which is anchored by chain to a big "live" tree. 3 guys on the rope and i cut the tree.

  • Thanks very much for you input on technique, Badger.much appreciated. Maybe (just a thought) you could post something on you tube in relation to contolled felling, the professional way so that people aren't missled by guys like "Mr. ugly scarf, no backcut? Could help the less experienced, who want to know the correct way, out there.Keep me posted.

  • hello, I operate a tree service and use Badgers technique often. Knowledge and experience in proper felling and equipment is key to safety. Tim Ard has some great instructional videos. Good luck cutting and be safe. Please be cautioius of poor videos posted on You Tube too many people claim to know what they are doing and in actuality don't have a clue.

  • thats what you do with an axe.

  • No backcut? No wedges? I got no problem with the power pull, but just to keep some tension on it in a difficult setting. I do the top cut of my facecut first so I can watch down that cut to see my bottom level cut meet the top cut.

  • Looked ok untill you did the face cut. Went downhill from there. A beaver would have been embarrassed.

  • Instuctional Video Format...

Not in a good way though

    keep workin at it though

  • You should learn how to cut timber before you get hurt!

  • lil bit more practice and ull get it. il probly do the same thing. i just started a buisness and my first cut i make will probably look like that

  • I totally agree with sum of u guys this guys way to old tp hold a chainsaw.the fuckin guy looks like he has athritus.

  • Agreed, but I look pretty good for 88 years old!

  • @VitoArc They have a throw ball with a giant sling shot that will reach the top of 150 ft tree. Tie your (arborist rated) pull rope to the ball and pull the rope back thru. Slip knot if you dont know any tree knots. That gives you far more leverage being up top with the rope. They actually make a rope winch (Masaden ) that gives you unlimited pull unlike a power pull. If your tree has back lean you can stand it up straight then with relief cuts. Even large trees. Better control and safer

  • @siscotree Tie a clove hitch, from the beanbag string, onto a "bull" rope, 5/8th thickness, or even an inch, even climbing lines have 5000lbs breaking strength, but thats no tension, so bull rope at best, then after that, you swing the rope around the direction you want it to go, then tie a "running bowline" this would be the best practise.

  • @hoodyofdeath that guy should hand in his saw and give up before killing himself or someone else omg that was so fuckin dumb you don't cut trees like that

  • @bigtony15851 the guys an idiot.

  • Back cut? Would have been safer and easier. Nice saw.

  • That chain was dull as ever! Instead of using a file to charpen it, use a real chain sharpener such as an electric tecomec chain sharpener. I will give you credit though for owning a stihl chainsaw.

  • A file IS a "real chain sharpener"

  • The end was the scarriest though.

  • Worst felling ever.

SIR you have no buisness owning a chainsaw!!!

  • Why? Because you're a pro and it's the only thing you can do right? LOL. The results were about what he was expecting. You only get better by experience. I'm sure all the pro's that make stupid comments started somewhere too. ;)

  • yea thats right

  • the worst tree felling i have ever seen, why didn't you just make a back cut rather than using the power pulls

  • the only thing i can do????

Where did you get that impression??

  • You're not very good with a chainsaw.

  • Very informative and instructional "in nature." Helpful for anyone wishing to clear the yard. A must view!

  • WHY DONT U LOCK SPIKES INTO THE TREE?

  • Well, as I mention in the video description, I think this is more accurate and safer in close quarters. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I can cut, then pull and snap a pine in the direction that I want it to go I feel better about it. My absolute goal is to NOT take out any nearby trees by accident.

  • what type of chain? will it cut faster with locked spikes? nice vid 5 stars! chain looked a little dull!is a 290 a nice saw? i'm getting one christmas maybe or a 390!

  • Yes it's a 290. I was using a low kickback chain, that's why it doesn't cut as quick. The more I use this saw however, the more comfortable I am, so I'm going to switch to a regular chain. Spikes help of course but in this case I don't need them. You can mod the exhaust with these saws, drill them out a bit and you get more torque. You can find info on this on line. Great saws! Stihl's rule, so look forward to Christmas!

  • get a stock reduced kickback chain very fast chain! were u barin down on the saw or just barely applying pressure!

  • rm2 chain is low kickback and it cuts very fast! sounded like the saw was not full throttle? sounded a little lean is it moded?
