  • Hell I'm a New Brunswicker and i can tell you that tub is not a marine atlantic ferry, the marking's are wrong

  • THATS NOT A NEWFIE FERRY

  • Don't fuck with Newfoundlander's, they know the seas you bastards !

  • I to watch the boats everyday from my window and this defintaly NOT one of our boats from NS - NFLD. What a bogus video. Hope no one believes this and decides not to go on a boat.

  • As has been stated a gazillion times here, this is NOT a Newfoundland ferry. Please change the title or take it down.

  • This is not in Newfoundland.... This is a Ferry in Greece owned by NEL lines.... It's funny I have seen the same vid like 10 times with people claiming it's in 10 different places lol!

  • @82100NX777 the colour might fit for NEL lines, but it's not NEL lines, the ship here in the vid is the Suilven running between Wellington und Picton in Newzeeland for Straight Shipping LTD. she was in service on Cook Strait up to 2004 when sold to Bligh Waters Shipping Fiji Island

  • I was going to say does not look like a Marine Atlantic logo and not familiar. Not the Robert Bond although I don't know what happened with it, sold off or it it does any runs around the island or Labrador at all. They have started or already scrapped the Smallwood and Caribou in India.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie the sir robert bond went through a two month re-fit in saint johns...shes now running load and go from lewisport to happy valley with freight and some passangers

  • Weeeee

  • This aint from Newfoundland, we dont even have a ferry like that here!

  • Look at the logo on the stack: this is NOT a ferry in Canadian waters. It was filmed in New Zealand, ya bunch of arseholes.

  • im a newfoundlander from spaniards bay xD <3

  • anybody have an idea s to whose it is?

  • I was gonna say no wonder our ferries are always broke down or running late but Our boats have two stacks ! But never the less this would have been a boat ride for the ages!

  • i dont care if its a ferry or not but i would hate to be on that boat

  • was a very rough crossing for the SUILVEN off the south coast of WELLINGTON in NEW ZEALAND

  • crap now im scared to go on the boats...

  • hahaha We all agree it's not one of ours LOL We know our ferries beh! :) HAHA

  • nahh bie not ours

  • thats the Marine Atlantic not the Newfoundland ferry!

  • And I second that.

  • You people are FOOLS! That is TOTALLY the Newfoundland Ferry!!

  • @norfolkyngvie Well I have watched the ferries from my living room window for 26 years...that is NOT one of them.

  • @KristaDawn1985

    Nuh-uh!

  • @norfolkyngvie Yeah ok....looking at the Blue Puttees right now!

  • My grandfather helped build both the ferry to Newfoundland and the ferry to st.john THIS IS NOT EITHER BOAT. Are you ppl really that clueless just look at it. You tube the two ferrys and compair them if you cant tell. This person who posted this has way too much time on their hands as well as the ppl arguing that it is. Its Not newfoundlands ferry get over it!!!!!

  • Dont worry they are Canadians they are a mixture of Scottish, Irish and scandanavians. They can handle this shit.

  • Actually the boat to newfoundland has two blue stacks at the back of the boat. This boat is more simular to the princes of acadia the boat crossing digby to st. john. I traveled this boat every week for many years. Except the princes has Bay Ferries written on the blue just under the white on the boat. Both newfoundland ferry and st.john ferry look almost exactly like this boat and I can see the confusion. BUT we are not dumb enough to sail a boat in unsafe water like that.

  • it's not mariane atlantic....none of thier boats look like that...and as for it being filmed at the Bayside...the bayside sits on River Ryan, not the Atlantic Ocean....some people will believe everything they see on facebook...

  • Can't be Marine Atlantic, they are tied up.

  • This is not a Marine Atlantic Ferry going between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland - they do not cross in weather that rough . Someone with too much time or some other reason took the video Ferry from Hell (richard1974dutch) and just changed the title and removed his music

  • From nova scotia to newfoundland

  • Funny how this is the same video used in the "Real Ghost Ship in St. Pierre et Miquelon" video :P

  • I've been on the Newfoundland-Nova Scotia crossing on different Marine Atlantic ships over the years in some nasty storms....but this is not a Marine Atlantic ship.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT NEWF HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA

  • Holy! I remember being on that boat during the same kinda thing- it was the worst!!

  • @gglahey Not a Marine Atlantic ferry!!! That boat gets canceled with a little wind. I should know...I pass by them everyday.

  • Sorry...This is not one of ours

  • Ok People this is the MV Suilven which sails across the Cook Strait in New Zealand, This video was filmed by a couple of guys as the ferry was leaving Wellington in the North island to either Picton or Nelson in the South Island. Most passenger ferries run between Wellington and Picton an trip of about 3.5 hours but the Suilven also used to Sail to Nelson every other day as well.

  • total lies NOT A NEWFOUNDLAND FERRY - WHY BOTHER MAKING THIS UP

  • Not NL ferry...

    Buried!

  • its obviosly the titanic, ya bunch of idiots

  • It doesn't even look a bit like any of the ferries to me! Dunno how anyone came to the conclusion that that is a Marine Atlantic Ferry! Most of the ppl I know work on those boats for godsake!

  • this is The Suilven, an old caledonian macbrayne ferry, last heard of running cattle in new zealand. this video is pretty old tho so she could well be scrap by now.

it's funny the amount of folk who have copied this and made it their own and claimed to have been on the boat during this trip :-)

  • I was on that ship that day i wan t to kill the caption

  • It's the MV Lief Erickson. It is a Marine Atlantic ferry that runs from North Sydney to Port Aux Basques. They only use her for freight and truckers now.

  • @jfarrell85 Sorry, it's not The Lief Erickson, nor any Marine Atlantic Ferry!!

  • @judyblueeyes well excuse me!!!!!! ya douche

  • @jfarrell85 Very mature!!!! I was just stating a fact!!

  • How can one video say it's Newfoundland and another posting of the same video say it's Cook strait ( which is in NZ). Some ine is lying?

  • Don't know where this is from but it is not on the North Sydney/Port-Aux-Basques run.

Not one of the regular ferries.

  • Get the heading right then Duuuu.

  • this is the newfoundland ferry, and its videotaped from the shore near the bayside in dominion, nova scotia. its not from new zealand or some stupid place on the other side of the atlantic ocean.

  • @maceachern003 look at the stacks, there is no Marine Atlantic sign on it. It's not NFLD.

  • @wadmanlikesbeer1 it is HAHAHAHA ur dillusional

  • @maceachern003 that aint the waves it some kinda circle, if it is what ship is it?

  • @maceachern003 why don't you google "MV Suilven" and see what comes up, I guess google will be dillusional too

  • Comment removed

  • @wadmanlikesbeer1 Re maceachern003. He wouldn't reply here to my comment but sent me a personal message telling me I was delusional too. It's useless getting into a war of wits with him, he's unarmed!!

  • @judyblueeyes :) haha

  • @maceachern003 The "bayside" in Dominion, N.S.? I don't think so. I see the Marine Atlantic Ferries coming and going everyday. This is not one of them!!

  • @maceachern003 Totally not true!

  • @maceachern003 This is not a Newfoundland ferry - nor was it filmed from Dominion - it was filmed in New Zealand

  • This is a BLUEBRIDGE Ferry leaving Wellington, New Zealand on its way to Picton, New Zealand across the Cook Straight. Get your facts straight...

  • OMG.. looks fun but id be scared shitless!

  • This is the Cook channel - New Zealand. Not Newfoundland.

  • Holy crap! I had no idea Newfoundland had waves like that.

  • If I were the captain of that ferry, I'd have every loudspeaker on board the ship blaring "Ride of the Valkyries" at full volume.

  • The weather started getting rough, the Tiny ship was taused......

  • nvm its not the caribou

  • ONCE AGAIN! - It's the old Suilven from Lewis to Ullapool in Scotland. She was sold to NZ,and here she is in the channel between north/south Island -NOT Newfoundland!!

  • Man i would likee vomet all over that shitt holee xO

  • shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit its gonna sink :O

  • Wow, like falling from a building over and over again!

  • tha looks so fun i wish i was there

  • thats one way to look at it lol

  • id b shiitin a brick if i were on that bitch!

  • Yip its the Suliven but the Santa Regina (owned by , Strait shipping running under the name Bluebridge), was sold to fiji and is still running

  • lol Tere is another vid of this ship called ghost ship

  • thats fuckin amazing

  • SWEET JESUS!!!!

  • this is a ship called the suliven on a poor day crossing the cook strait in new zealand.she was originally a cal mac ferry crossing the minch from stornoway on the isle of lewis to ullapool on scotlands west coast she was sold to nz in 95 .she was an absoluteley lengendary seaboat sailing in all weathers crossings like you see here were comonplace for her .the day this was filmed six other ships were lost.last i heard she went on fire in fiji

  • ice burg in the spring and high wave in the fall.

  • winter dec. to mar.

  • is there ever a time when those ferry's don't cross? I would think that there should be some sort of safety issue for the passengers and the ferry would close down for passengers at a certain point in time when the water is rough like that!! I would be scared to death to get on this ferry, especially with small children. I think I would weigh my options and wait or if were a matter of getting to work then my job would not see me on that day............this is ridiculous.

  • @fishin1111 The Newfoundland ferry's get canceled with a little breeze of wind. This is not one of them.

  • @KristaDawn1985 that sounds more like it! I wouldn't think a ferry would dare "risk" their passengers in weather like this. Thank you for clearing that up. It sounds like a lot of people became slightlyt confused at this posting! Why would someone want to post this video and call it something that it clearly is not? Thanks again.

  • @KristaDawn1985 not 100% true, just like the video. they only cancel them when its a certain amount of wind at the wreck house. and the number is quite high. ive been on it when i believe it was 60 clicks at the wreck house and it was a rough ride, you had to hug the walls to walk. so it can get very rough out there. so they do not get canceled with just the slightest bit of wind. just thought id put it out there.

  • @emilyxoxoxann It was never THIS bad. One about three weeks ago was rough but not half as bad as this. It is NEVER this bad sorry.

  • two words....FUCK...THAT.

  • this is not one of the newfoundland ferries just look at the logo on the smoke sack thats not marine atlantic

  • Why set sail in this?

  • man this is a dangerous weather situation for a ship of it's kind

  • THIS IS NOT NEWFOUNDLAND. This video has had the audio removed; it was shot from Wellington, New Zealand showing a ferry departing into a Southerly. You can find the actual video with the audio if you search for "cook strait ferry."

  • Yup.. you're right.....this does not look like the Caribou or Joseph and Clara Smallwood. Although this is not NL I will a sure you I have been in these kind of waves crossing to NL ..as well as in a hurricane crossing from NS to PEI in much smaller boat....Very scary...but Fun!!!!

    Thanks for clarifying location!

  • Filmed over the Cook Strait, NZ

  • The good ship "LOLLIPOP"

  • That !! Is in NZ ...NOT NLFD ... Research ASN News archives.

  • OMG :L

passengers must be shitting themselves mann, fuckin hell.

xD the passengers definately deserves some free vouchers.. but tbh would they go bk on tht ferry?

    LOL. xD

  • Picton to Wellington ferry NZ

  • uh yes it it you retard i was on it last week

  • Me and a couple of friends are going to see AC/DC in Moncton so we got to cross over either by boat or plane. Three of us hate flying and the other guy hates the boats. We had a vote on flying or sailing and this was the outcome; 3 to 1! He lost the vote so were driving and going across the strait. I hope the weather is like this on the journey. This would really really freak him out. LOL!!!!!!!! I'm not afraid of the sea! Not yet?

  • This is NOT a ferry on the Nfld. to N.S. run ... there was a piece on our local news a few years ago about this vid and this is a ferry somewhere in New Zealand I believe ...

  • Comment removed

  • @perrydasavage /watch?v=e7NB-bN-ns4&NR=1

exactly, this is/was the 'Suilven' which was operating in Canada! at the time. It was retired to Fiji in 2004......

  • @perrydasavage yes its the Suliven leaving Wellington Harbour on Waitangi Day 2002 - I actually work for this Company and quite a few of my workmates used to work on that ship and can back me up too. Search for the Strait Shipping website and you will see photos of the Suliven on the website

  • barf

  • Go fuck yourself kid.

  • no need to go to Six Flags Magic...jsut take that ride ;) amazing footage

  • In fact it is in New Zealand...The only similarity is the New in New Zealand.

  • this is not the leif ericson

  • jeeeeeze

  • NOT a ferry that belongs to Marine Atlantic... nice vid but stupid to post as being the Newfoundland ferry.

  • @jrmarshall77 you definatly arent from atlantic canada are you

  • @2molloy2

Born and raised thank you very much. I've been on all of the ferries that travel to and from Newfoundland more times then you have probably changed your underwear. This video was also on CTV news to point out that in fact this is NOT a Marine Atlantic Ferry.

  • @jrmarshall77 It's actually the Woolwich Ferry on a ordinary Monday morning.

  • The is NOT the Newfoundland/Nova Scotia ferry!

  • I left Newfoundland in July 1962 on the Newfoundland Ferry ( The William Carson I believe ) . It has been a long time , but something about this ship looks different . I can definately say that the seas were not this bad .

  • I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I think that if I were on there, that it would be fun! XD WEEEEE

  • Me too!

  • It is one of the ferries that runs between the North Island and South Island in New Zealand. This footage was taken as it left Wellington harbour during a southerly storm a couple of years ago. The Cook Strait on which it operates is pretty famous as being a nasty stretch of water for storms and strong currents. About a kilometre to the left of shot is Wellington airport - also famous for rough landings. Wellington, NZ is about as far away from Newfoundland as you can get....

  • bys oh bys....Alright we all got it everyone take yer friggin seats! jesus. bunch of fellers screechin over a boat or ship or spaceship or whatever the fuck it is.

    sweet video =)

  • did this ship survive?

  • The "SHIP" in this video has nothing to do with Newfoundland at all. It is the Suilven working in Fiji and I would call it a boat. It is a quarter of the size of the latest Leif Erickson.

I wish that people would research internet videos before reposting them; a video like this can cause a lot of damage to the tourist trade for Newfoundland. The ferries servicing Newfoundland are not so easily thrown around.

  • No offense, but who the hell, besides you really cares if its a ship or a boat. Just enjoy the video man.... -.-

  • It is not the Lief Erickson. I have been on that ship. That ship looks nothing like it.

  • isnt that the ferry from the avoln pinesual to sidney??

  • this is not the newfoundland ferry...

  • O_o

    wow

  • hey trevoroliveharris...ur beloved NTV is a FRAUD if you believe this is the MV Lief Erickson...if youve ever been to Port-aux-Basque then youd no it isnt one of our ships. How i no this you ask...HALF MY FAMILY WORKS OR HAS WORKED FOR MARINE ATLANTIC

  • GOD,GOD,GOD..

  • Def not a Newfoundland ferry!

  • This is not a Newfoundland ferry.

  • Its New Zealand ferry

  • Comment removed

  • @trevoroliverharris Your full of shit.

  • Was that the economy ferry from New Brunswick. I just need to know if I should take my vicodin before going on. This way I wont feel a thing!

  • Does anyone know if its the Newfoundland Feery?

  • this aint no nfld ferry eh

  • this is not the newfoundland ferry! dumd asses

  • power of the sea

    it can destroy everithing:(

  • it is a newfoundland ferry!!!!i know people who were on it and the showed me pics and videos of how it was!!!

  • actually new zealand. this is the cook strait ferry in NEW ZEALAND 6 February 2002 leaving wellington lol look it up

  • gee i wonder if any body peed their pants while puking their guts out! YEEHAW

  • What the...? That cant be the NL ferry...maybe one on the south coast...I'm not sure. I wouldn't want to be on it though!

  • It's the SS Minnow on a three-hour tour.

  • yes it is i live by it :P

  • i wish i had a dollar for everytime someone commented..."thats not the newfoundland ferry!"

  • well, you can have another..it's not.

  • This is not a Newfoundland ferrey!

  • That's not a Marine Atlantic ship. So this isn't a Newfoundland ferry video at all.

  • You can fit two of those ferry's in one Newfoundland ferry!

  • that is not the nfld ferry ....... i should know i go on it every summer

  • Thats not the Newfoundland ferry idiots. It looks nothing like either of them. Plus they have policies and are smart enough notttt to go out in conditions like that.

  • NZ. It's the MV Suilven leaving Wellington, headed across the Cook Strait. This footage is from 2002.

  • I'm sure that's what I said on my earlier note too!

  • WTF: Thats not the Newfoundland Ferry. Seen this clip on another video saying it was in the Meditrainian

  • Thats F*cking messed up

  • id hate to be working in the engine room in them seas

  • With the wind at their back I'm sure the return trip was much better!

  • caribou has 2 stacks aft and a taller loading ramp

  • Naturewatch dot org has an article "18 September 2004: Australian protest group Animal Liberation NSW circulates images of a livestock carrier ship, Strait Shipping's Suilven, leaving Wellington, New Zealand, in appalling weather conditions." This is the shipo in the photo.

  • Yeah , its going to nfld ..

'and wow , big waves !

  • why is this exactly the same video as "Straits Shipping Suilven in heavy seas" as posted by BootsSiR. For seven years Suilven ran between Wellington and Picton before being transferred to the Wellington to Nelson service in late 2002. She was sold and left for a new life in Fiji in April 2004.
