  • i got a 74 and am thinking about dropping in a 440 what kinda gas mileage u get with that thing? i know its a stupid question but its not really the money part im worried about i just want to be able to still take the dart on longer cruises

  • @74dodge92 I had a 74 w/ a 440 w/ headers, 727, 8.75 and 4.10 gears. Put it this way, even with pizza cutters for tires, and not romping it much, I didn't own it for more than 6 months. It got about 4-7 mpg in town and highway, about 9-12. I didn't build the car either or I would've put 3.73 gears, 225"s out back and 195's up front w/ 650 cfm and tri-Y headers.

  • does anybody know what is the name of that yellowish-tanish color on the car??????

my dart is the the same color i was wondering for when i repaint it.

  • That is what i am searching for right now, got the running 440, just need the dart , scamp, or duster, the 72 dart is my fave though, black or red? im not shure.

  • make it a 440 small block and i will pay you whatever you are asking for it

  • rusty, but strong v8 !!

  • how much did u sold it for?

  • what exhaust did you have in it?

  • how much did u want for it?????

  • SOLD!

  • i want to put a 440 in my dart any advice?

  • @gohomescotty Go with TTI or Schumacher headers and Get Schumacher's A Body RB swap kit. It eliminates the need for a big block equipped A body K-Member and can use your stock K Member even if it's a 225 / 6 K member. INVALUABLE resource. Also, 71+ A-Bodies had slightly bigger enginebays cuz Dodge was planning to go with a 383-440 option but becuz of rising Insur. and tighter emissions, it was ditched but the engine bays were still enlarged. Good luck man, Mopar Muscle!!!

  • Check your messages, Give me a call.

  • I have never run the car for the 1/4 mile. It has only been run on the 1/8th mile by the previous owner. He ran 6.86@110 on full slicks with a tiny 750cfm Demon Carb. I have now had a Holley 1050+ professionally flowed to 1170 and this car moves. I have been working on doing the body work and roll cage, along with fixing various little things, and have hardly had the chance to drive it. To pass tech, I have a piece of metal to block the pass through from the trunk to the passenger area.

  • You also need to weld in the driver side door bar of the cage, and get new seat belts. The Engine and trans has about 4000 miles on it. The trans is a 727 auto with reverse pattern manual valve body. This means it has three forward gears and you have to shift it, but without a clutch. It has a 3500 stall converter in it. This car is probably less than two full days of work from being street and track ready.

  • Man... as miniscule as this sounds, I wouldn't own a Dart post 69 simply for the grille and taillights. Dodge just ruined the looks of the Dart in the 70's. Car sounds good though.

  • Sent it out to the paint shop today, should be looking really good soon.

  • iam really into it i myself have a 73 swinger what kind of exhaust and alittle more info on motor

  • Schumacher headers with 3" through Flowmasters out the sides. It is a built 440 with 11.2:1 compression, mechanical Mopar Purple Cam, Edelbrock single plane intake, Holley 1050+ carb flowed to 1170, 9qt oil pan, 727 trans with reverse pattern manual valvebody, shift kit, 3500 stall converter, 3:91 spool.

  • how much

  • Looking for about $9500.

  • Ive actually got a 73 parts car sitting in the back yard that is exactly the same color as that one... did yours have a green vinyl top? Mine is pretty much done for, good glass which Im using on another project, but it has nothing left under it. engine, trans, rear, all the suspension is gone, trunk floor was used in my project, as will be the glass. Nice car though, good luck with your sale.
