  • @ravensky23 i prefer tarkio but he is amazing

  • Oh, if only all musicians could learn from this man. My inspiration for life, I'm not kidding.

  • truly one of the most amazing musicians on this planet.

  • They're coming to NZ :D :D :D :D :D :D

  • It's a great song and it's adorable that he wrote it, but it makes me feel so painfully jealous of his wife! I guess I have to come to terms with the fact that Colin Meloy will never marry me. haha.

  • Is he married? :(

  • If I'm not mistaken, I think it's kind of like a Johnny Depp-Vanessa Paradis situation where it's not official but they're raising a family together and such. So they may as well just be married.

  • They are actually married. But I agree with the bittersweet jealousy :P

  • well said , psycho

  • His voice is AMAZING. It's so unique. Before you hear one word you know exactly who it is. He is awesome.

  • It's a shame most people can't get past his singing. He's a brilliant musician.

  • For people I know that are into The Decemberists, his voice was never an issue.

  • I think his voice is great. :)

  • He looks like Isaac Brock

  • i want to marry colin meloy.

  • ditto

  • This song is gorgeous. I just had a baby in June so of course I relate it to mine and my husband's own experience, it makes me tear up.

  • his voice makes me fall in love :)

  • I loved this song before of knowing it was about her daughter, now reading the lyrics I love it more.

    Colin is great.

    Thanks for the video.

  • I actually think this song is about his wife carrying his daughter, due to the "tumblin' in Dublin" in relative time to her pregnancy and when The Decemberists played in Dublin.

  • You're absolutely right, he mentioned that at the show before he started singing.

  • I took the "tumblin' in Dublin" to mean...er...them making the baby (so to speak) in Dublin, as the next line is "..and next thing ya know" like it was a lil' bit of a surprise, albeit a wonderful surprise.

  • dude, they have a son. Henry, "Hank"

  • As a folk rock music enthusiast I truly enjoyed this vid. Do post more;)

    Thanks for sharing sweet Debbie;)

    Hug Minstrels, Marylou ^-^

    Hi Mr. RobertPina99;)

  • This is no tortured troubadour. He marvels in wonder at the world and inspires his listeners. At least in this song.

  • I'll post more of the concert soon, mix it up a bit. This solo concert was awesome, but The Decemberists, his band, are fantastic. Thanks for checking it out!

  • Beautifully put.
