  • Bizarre! Those tables and chairs are protruding out more than that little 'A' Frame!

  • Only in England......

The funny bit, the chap that comes out of the cafe next door and shoves his chairs and table a little closer towards his property. Funny.

  • Yeh its very good to know that Radio Jackie gets to keep the board. What is RBK thinking god its not like its really big. have not nothing better to do.

  • My wife is visually impared, and has fallen over a number of A-Boards in Kingston. Well done Kingston Council for removing this pavement obstruction. And as for Radio Jackie, words fail me - they're showing a total lack of consideration for less-able members of our society. Geoff.

  • @geofftheref7 you want to worry about all the chairs and tables that are outside coffee shops then being worried about these board that are no way obstructing the pathway i think chairs and tables are a lot bigger the a small sign

  • If you read Page 7 of this week's Surrey Comet you will see that Kingston Council are also taking a stand against too many tables and chairs outside coffee shops. Maybe if you talked with some blind people, you'd learn that larger obstructions are not the problem. Guide Dogs lead their owners around hazards like that, and partially sighted folk can make out large obstructions like a group of people sitting at a table. Smaller obstructions such as A- Boards are the real hazard for blind people.

  • @geofftheref7,Why does she fall over the a boards?,She needs a white stick ,If she is so impared that she cant see a 3ft x 2ft sign then she should not go out on her own without a carer as she is not only a danger to herself but to others i.e walking into the road, tripping on a pram and landing on a child, if a boards have to be removed then so does the snoopers cafe tables and chairs..what applies to one should apply to all..a miscarrage of jusitce and fairness if I have ever seen it!

  • I can't see what the fuss is about. If anyone listened to Radio Jackie they wouldn`t need an A board. It is hardly an advert for the power of radio that they use a street notice to tell people they exist. Anyway, if radio Jackie wants others to obey the laws by not broadcasting over it it should do the same by not cluttering OUR streets with their illegal signage. That guy talking to the Officer should have been tazared for obstruction.

  • So they can't display an A board outside the building whereas the pirate is larger and takes up more space but not an obstruction because it's considered street art !

A lot of businesses are prevented from using A boards despite them paying thousands in business tax rates. And that is wrong.

  • What a bunch of IDIOTS. No wonder this country is going to hell in a handcart with crap like this.

  • Excellent video and sound, but goodness me, how pathetic of the Royal Borough to take this action! How come the tables and chairs (presumably a shop neighbouring the Tolworth Tower) are acceptable, but the A-board is not.

Maybe Kingston Council just don't like former radio pirates becoming one of the most succesful businesses in their borough?

  • It's good to know that our police are prepared to act

urgently to keep our nation safe.

  • The 'street art' pirate should be made to wear a sandwich board with the RJ logo on it!
