  • see great groove: /watch?v=sTMjT6YsyXk

  • Ahhhh that's better. Just fresh off watching that Cobus kid and reading nonsense about how he is the best thing ever. Kids these days they just don't get it. There is a world beyond Breaking Benjamin, and Owl City covers. It's square 4 and I can still tell it's Dennis, brilliant.

  • @guyfidelity You know whats up.

  • P FUNK!!!

  • can someone tell me what bass effect the bass player is using?

  • @sentimentalmood1 octave. clearly

  • @sentimentalmood1 Its an Octaver dude

  • great solo by scofield

  • @doznkekz

watch the other clips, scofield does indeed produce a great solo on blue matter

  • Four on the floor. That's all you need!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOO GREAT!!!!

  • that bass line is just awesome. and chambers is like a machine with feeling. if that makes any sense

  • sound beni öldürüyor yahuuuu yıllar öncesinin kayıtları bunlar. Babalar zaten yemişler bitirmişlerr nasılda rahatlar.

  • Where's John? What a disappointment.

  • Dennis Chambers is kinda funny in terms of grip. He switches to traditional sometimes, but he always plays his harder chops matched. It seems his traditional isn't as good as matched, so why does he switch?

  • @Jadyellow8 feel

  • @Jadyellow8

Its easier sometimes to navigate around the drumset with the traditional grip. For example see his left hand at 1:20

  • Yeah, I know all these points, and DC has always been a true favourite mine, yet I must say, I suspect that some of his motivation to play traditional is to look cool, lol. Some guys, like Dave Weckl and Jojo Mayer play all they're craziest licks both ways. Dennis Chambers always plays his really advanced fills and licks matched. So yeah, I think he wants to look versatile and cool.

  • @Jadyellow8 Trad grip gives me a funkier feel when I play laidback beats.

  • What have the late 70s p-funk, Bernard Wright, Don Blackman albums (and so many more) in common ? Dennis Chamber's FUNK. Lots of cats seems to love him for the chops, but to me, it's the ultimate early 80s funk he churns out that floors me everytime.

  • Dennis Chambers + Victor Wooten would equal pure awesomeness.

  • if you like Sco then check out James Muller. He's a Sco disciple :)

  • excellent, but these two play very well, I hope to touch the battery toward someday with practice and help of God everything is possible

  • YYYEEEEESSSSSS!!! All you need is a smoking horn section and ya got it on!

  • prove it big dog !!!!!!!

  • lol what did i say i dont remember commenting on this vid?? it must have been bad coz its not on there anymore and its got 6 'thumbs down' thingys. lol would you mind replying back with what i said? im curious now.

  • @fattyeggfacedead I was just joking , you said you were better than Chambers , I ask you to prove it :) and called you Big Dog ! whoof whoof

  • lawl

  • any body know the chords to the guitar?

  • i know the notes for the main structure? it goes C, A sharp, G, F sharp, F... then to go back up its G, A, A sharp... hope that helps :)

  • use your ears

  • stupid question, any parenthood with Joe Chambers?

  • Dennis Chambers has impeccable timing on the beat. He is a master drummer.

  • Dennis chambers with hair!! lol, u should see him now... hes still cool on the drums though

  • LMBO!!

  • P - Funk!!

  • Get P-Funk All Stars Live at Beverly Hills Theater on Westbound. I believe it was released around 1990. Dennis Chambers on drums. Sickest live PFunk you'll ever hear. Thank me later.

  • You're right on it, brother! You could tell the difference in Dennis' playing a mile away. I read in a book years ago, that Skeet Curtis and him would get bored sometimes and speed up the groove sometimes during concerts and that would give the tune a completely different sound.

  • God I love these guys.. this is SUCH a deep pocket.

Look at Chambers with ALL that hair! LOL.

  • My personal favorite groove drummer of all time. 2 and 4 on the snare never sounded so tight.

  • dennis got his start with p funk back in the late 70's and stills jams with them at times

  • Dennis Chambers was in p funk for awhile and still jams with them at times

  • p-funk!!!!!

  • whoose song is it?

  • William "Bootsy" Collins

  • @grosucelmic lol bootsy collins and his rubber band

  • I always thought ' Flashlight ' was a Parliament (George Clinton) tune. Anyway, definitely a funk classic, although this version seems almost sedated compared to the original. On another note, unless I am mistaken, Chambers was once a member of Parliament.

  • You're right this is P-Funk...

It seems less meaty coz it sounds nothing like the actual song without the synths and what not...Still really sexy tune!!

  • Bootsy Collins: Parliament's bassist

  • Just to Clear things up, yes this is a Parliament song. Bernie Worrell wrote the bassline (with Bootsy in mind) and preformed it on the Funkentelechy record as well as live to this day on his Moog.

  • @shleiderbmxx

Funkadelics. The original is way better.

  • @shleiderbmxx

    parliment funkadelic....

  • It's rurns me on every time!!

  • off the hook
