@adamcharney "Waltzing Matilda" means to travel with nothing with you but a "matilda" bag or bundle with your belongings in it. In the song, a swagman (traveling homeless man looking for work) camps near a billabong (watering hole) and boils water in a billy. (kettle for boiling water) He catches a jumbuck (sheep) to eat and sticks the meat in his tucker bag (food bag). The man who owned the sheep brings police to arrest the swagman (who drowns himself and his ghost haunts the site)

10 million travellers/year can't be wrong. Australia has to be one of the best if not the best place in the world. During my one year of travel in "OZ" I fell in love with the place and I would never change that year for anything.

So all the people arrested and sent to Australia were people who stole, etc. But also people who protested the crown. Same reason the people of America left and created one of their laws as the "separation of church and state" so that no one would ever have religious control of the society in their country.
