it depends on what type of racer you like. I would buy both ( hot pursuit first). hot pursuit, as you can see is a more free roam arcade style street racing game, Shift 2 is a track racing, simulator type. so really its all a matter of opinion. :)

I have some advice for your skills mate!

Start Wide, Finish Tight.

It's pretty basic. And don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to offend you. It's just something that helps you get around corners better. If you want you could try searching V8 Supercars 3 for Playstation. It's a perfect example to if you don't use this rule of physics to your advantage then you will lose the race.

Still... Need for Speed gets pretty hard later on in the game.

Why is it that every time a NEW need for speed comes out the graphics get worse and worse!!?? The burnout looks as bad as a PS2 game, the sound is awful, and The nitros flames look like blue smoke and when it shuts off it looks like freaking sparks. Need for speed Pro Street had the best graphics and sound out of all of them and its from freaking 2007!
