  • We could use that green thing as a winter ambulance.. That'd be sweet. Got a large fire truck stunk on Forkston Mtn. this morning, then she slid into a stone wall.

  • @idigghx Bummer on the stone wall experience! Yeah, I often think of how someone atop Bartlett or Flat Top mountains would be carried out if needed. Especially with a foot or three of snow on the ground. Good luck with the EMS activities.

  • I really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing.

Fantastic IH there, but man when it sinks in the mud, it's not an easy extraction. I bet you don't go out there again anytime soon.

  • @Milliding Thanks. Yep. I have not gone onto the same spot since then in that time of year. Unfortunately, it keeps getting drier every year since the beavers left. That is the only spot I have ever buried her with 4 chains on.....

  • Boys will be boys !

  • @DeanaBryan This is true!! I like to say that we were never really stuck. Our forward progress was merely temporarily slowed......And all the Ford Owners were willing to watch the rest of us get buried while they quietly drank their beer!!!

  • @1966ih I doubt they were quiet while drinking !

  • @DeanaBryan You got me!!! They were lauging their collectove butts off! Just finished 2 week fishing vacation up Lake Ontario today, Sep 3,, 2010 at Little Sodus Bay, Fair Haven. Went to Oswego for a few days too. King Salmon!! Snow will be on the ground here before too long. Time for more video making!! Deana, good to hear from you.

    Regards,

    Ron

  • @1966ih you get snow early there !! We usually do not have snow until December. I've just been busy with school, work and taking care of our horses. But Im alive and well !

  • how far from york pa are you

  • @385bigblockford460 I live in Vestal, NY which is about 90 miles north of Scranton. The area I wheel in these videos is about 45 miles NNW of Wilkes Barre.

  • its fucking team buddy

  • Where were you guys, up on Dutch? I grew up in forkston. Holy mud

  • The mountans off of WIndy Valley Road. South Mountain, Bartlett Mountain, What rig do you run?

  • I use to have an 86 cj-7, since sold that. Nothing for offroad but still have a little dakota that I use for my summer trips up dutch to the coal mine, don't know about this summer with the road being destroyed by the flood.

  • The lower roads did get bet quite a bit by the recent freak 5" rain storm. But as you get higher on the mountain they get better. One spot got really tough even for my 49" tires with chains on.

  • Crap that IH is like an arctic exploration vehicle... Keep up the good work guys!

  • Thanks a bunch, We finally got a good snow storm last night. First good one of the year for us. Time to make more winter wheeling videos!!

  • It all looks like fun but that 3/4 ton Dodge or any full size truck with stock tires for that matter is no match for the terrain ya'll were in .

Love that green International , shame they got out of the light truck business.

  • The 3/4 ton aired down as much as he could without beadlocks and surprised us all with how well he did getting to the old beaver dam. That was a 2 hour ride one way. But yes, the stock tires easily got buried in the goo. The IH was able to float across until it hit ruts the 3/4 ton had made. Sank like a rock into bottomless goo!! We were just back there this weekend running through 2 to 3 foot drifts to get to it but were by ourselves so we statyed off the drained beaver pond. Regards, Ron

  • I'm in Florida so cant relate to the snow, heck this winters been record breaker it seems. I've seen more Minnesota, Wisconsin and Canada tags than the year before.

Keep wheeling and post what you can , thorughly enjoy watching that International.

    Robert

  • Thanks. I was wheeling in Forkston this past weekend. One ledge trail had 2 to 3 foot drifts for hundreds of yards at a clip. And me with no video camera!! I had the wife who was willing to take the video but left the camera at work. DUH!!! So, we go again this weekend, this time with the camera!! Tnx for the nice comments.

    Regards

    Ron

  • nobody packed a shovel?

  • Nice movie. Compliments.

Here in Holland there are few terrains to go offroading. Especially good mud is hard to find in my region. We're still having fun though with a few zooks and a daihatsu taft lwb. The last one is going to look like a mini green machine with 35" boggers underneath. We had doubts over a winch, but after seeing this vid I'm sure its nessesary.

  • I hope you project is a success. If you go off road you will need a winch sooner or later, especially if you look for adventure and fun! I have front and back winches and am not ashamed to say I have used them both. I also carry two huge snatch blocks and three 40,000, 30 foot long straps. This is the only time I ever buried it with 4 chains on and I wheel a lot.

    Ron

  • no bottom there lol

  • Отличное видео! Хорошая грязь!!!

Жалко Dodg , он совсем не подготовлен к бездорожью.

  • he stuck like a headlock

  • How much does the international weigh?

  • Yes, quite true. One of the guys from that trip was over this weekend. He brought me pictures he took with his camera. It was his opinion that the grass acted as an insulator and kept the iced over top layer of mud kind of firm/hard. But when we spun or stripped away that grass and broke through the top semi frozen mud-grass layer we were 100% DONE!! I had NEVER stuck the truck before with 4 tire chains on. Anywhere. Fun stuff!! And the mud smelled "biological"!!! Great Stuff!!

  • it looks kinda like wheelin on early spring mud when the ice first start to melt and the mud is still frozen untill you get into it.. the trick is to not spend to much time in one spot but also not to spin your wheels lol

  • this place doesnt look that difficult. other then the mud. i think my jeep chould do it. how far are you from philly? haha. im 20 min from philly

  • Thanks a bunch.

  • Great video as always!!

  • WE had a blast. This abandonded beaver pond had a unique surface tension to it. Kind of like floating a paper clip on water due to surface tension. It is either a 1 or a 0. The paper clip either floats or else breaks the surface tension and sinks. It was not like "normal mud" where you could try and get enough wheel speed up to start to move. You were either on top or else you broke through and instantly sank. Tracked vehicle are needed here....

  • bummer, happens to the best of us. Still looks like you had fun.
