  • rlol don't get me started on Pilot pay..but FA's have it hard

  • Thats why you go to collage billy.

  • The fact of the matter is that these executives are making cuts and refusing to budge on new contracts but are accepting multi-million dollar buyouts. Money that could go to the company and help lower ticket prices are going to the pockets of these execs and helping them live the high life in a mansion somewhere. They don't give 2 shits about the customers, the employees, or the company. The real life of a flight attendant: Fly till you die.

  • Unfortunately, everything they said is 100% true. Both my parents have worked for US air for 30 years. Ever since 9/11 and declaring bankrupcy, the company basically put a gun to their head and forced them to take massive pay and benefit cuts. People yell and bitch at them as if there the ones charging them 5 dollars for a pillow. If you want to know who's really responsible, write the corporate executives who make those decisions. FA have as much say in their job as you do in yours, if not less

  • it've been stuck in my head to become a flight att. nd im 20 yrs old i go to college nd ive been wanting to take a french class,i speak english and spanish idk if that will work on something but i think it would be to much for a girl like to be a flight atte in soo early age

  • my dream is to become a flight attendant... got the training but its killer hard to get in! gr... lol

  • One minute she may be providing simple in-cabin comforts such as blankets, pillows, and peanuts and sodas; next minute, their job may turn to knowledgeable assistance in case of emergency landing or to diffuse an in-flight cabin disorder among passengers, mechanical, etc. Resolutions are the exception and not the rule to the host of potential problems that could occur at 35k feet in the air.

  • and yet it is expected to tip a waiter or waitress in a resturant, when there are so many other service jobs that require more than wat staff or hair stylists.

  • I DONT CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO THE AIRLINE I WANT TO WORK FOR I JUST WANT TO BECOME A FA SO BAD........................

  • I dreamed to be FA when i grow up since i was a child. i'm 25 now and i think 5'2 is not height enuff to be one. I hope they can change that height requirement , make it 5'0. hihi.. then i can make it.

  • look how tan they all are! :D

  • Well I mean it's not exactly a job for a woman who has many children and wants to be a major part of their life is it.. There are plenty of other jobs out there if you hate it so much. It sounds like a cool job to have for a couple of years once you're out of university and want to see some of the world but don't have much money and you have nothing tying you down (children, husband etc)

  • this makes me so angry...i have been a flight attendant for QANTAS for 7 years and we have to work long shifts, nothing like what is being described here though

  • This video demonstrates the filthy entitled attitudes of these capitalist money-grubbing, verminous scum. They make an art of ruining working conditions for people, but make themselves happy by pocketing what they cheat, swindle, steal from the common people through never-ending dirty, filthy tricks.

  • No wonder Steven Slater got fed up and snap ... so sad ...

  • too bad the pay is really bad! don t understand why since we have to do so many interviews, exams, medicals... intensif training for several weeks and need to pass with 85-90%. don t understand it s pretty disappointing i just did interviews today for this airline here in canada and passed all the interviews, language tests... they gave me an appointment for medical... but at the end when they gave me this paper with salary info i was " in my head so disappointed" :(

  • Not sure I want to be a flight attendant anymore...

  • Flight Attendants, im sorry your not being treated fairly :( but you do a great job and thank you for bringing me soda and a pillow when i need it. You rock! xoxoxo

  • @AubreyBryan you are so welcome.

  • Great video! As an ex-flight attendant I can totally relate to this. The big boys at the top don't seem to be taking any pay cuts do they! Check out my video I did on this subject "How to get the most out of your flight attendant"

    xo Susan

  • I've recently started to work as a FA from taca international airlines cause I live in El Salvador and at least here in my country is very well paid Im 20 and Im earning enough money to support all my family even if they dont work the problem is that I was studying law in the university and now is getting very difficult for me to keep studying

  • That was shot at Regan National Airport (DCA)!!!!!!!!!! I recognize that interior anywhere!!! hahaha

  • Personally, it does not sit well with me that they treat flight attendants(and from my understanding pilots as well) so poorly. I think most people would agree that you want any and everyone responsible for your safety at 30k feet in the air to be highly motivated and well compensated! I've always though FAs and Pilots were very well paid until recently.

  • I flew International for AAL for 32 yrs. and this video is very well done. It demonstrates the same work rules are still in jeopardy now as when I was flying. I admire each and every one of you and APFA should get every retiree to join their peers in this pursuit as this also effects us as well. It's your and our turn!

  • I want a new contract. Our turn.

  • Your last sentence describes a personality (ungrateful, bitter) yet overworked is not by the FA, but by the company. Truth is... airlines operate to the bone, with thin margins to make low-yielding profits. What you see here are FA's who've been with AA for years and are forced to now work 14 hour days as the norm for the same amount of money. The job environment has slowly changed since deregulation and more-so after 9/11. We all can't be beautiful, working widebodies JFK-FLL 11 times a day.

  • i fly for CAL in IAH all of us no matter what airline deal with the same crap we all love our jobs but they take everything away from us to make the PAX happy hell waiting 4 them to charge 4 seatbelts shhhhhh dont tell the FAA

  • This is not marriage therapy. The real issue is executive compensation that is greed ridden and not rewarding your loyal employees who are proud of the American brand, but are appalled by the way AA is being run. This video is filled with educated individuals who want to be compensated for the hard work they do.

  • lol you did not just compare AA flight attendants to the Singapore Girls. Two different entities bud

  • This isn't fair, the CEO's have country club dues to pay.

  • yeah u fools who are not F/A's u deal with bitchy people who dont get a meal on a hour flight we do up to 6legs a day with 4 hours of sleep lets see u do it

  • please no oofense to flight attendants, i used to be one and i remember them complainting before 911 just the same way the complaint after it, it seems like it is not a happy group.I really enjoyed being a flight attendant for united the first 3 years, 98 to 2001, after that i did not, but it is ok, it is all behind me now.

  • I don't care work the 24 hours at day, I really wanna be a flight attendant. The wors thing is not be4 in the best moments with your family.

  • Most FA's love their jobs and that's why they continue to stay with the job. It's their passion to be in the aviation industry. I used to fly every week for work and have seen first hand what they deal with everyday. I always treat them with the utmost respect and courtesy and I salute them.

  • u are absloutely right

  • Hey,

Absolutely love your videos! Very entertaining for the aviation industry and flight attendant perspective.

Come over and check us out at Flight Attendant Therapy here on Youtube...

  • As someone, who in life has witnessed large corporations taking ridiculous value bonuses unto themselves at top management level, even when figures and situations were diabolical, I can only voice my support.

    Regards from the UK.

  • American Airlines have not hired any flight attends since 9/11. Thats over eight (8) years ago. The last set of ameican airlines flight attendants were hired the wednesday after 9/11. American Airlines application process will soon open again. For all the information on American Airlines. Just send me a message

  • Delta! They pay more :)

  • SCREW AMERICAN AIRLINES GO TO DELTA

  • As an Ex AA F/A that resigned, boy I sure miss the way things use to be.They should have Krandal back, even though he wasnt the most liked;he let you know were things stood. Oh yes I recall flying FIFO many times, back to back GIG ,EZE trips. As in any job, there is good and bad, but I miss AA and all my friends. Managment has to realize that no matter the size, Ie. Braniff, Pan Am, //AA could fold just as easy. No guarantees in life.

  • they're too busy rehiring pedophiles, theives and sexual perverts. no wonder they don't have room to hire new people!!

  • when is AA going to start hiring FA again?

  • When they try and take more from us and people are forced to quit or go on welfare. Then maybe they can start recruiting at McDonalds and offer them the same pay.

  • What about considering have more international crew bases to do more flights so you can fly less hours. I think you don't want that either.

  • AA should really be exposed for this, this is ridiculous. I feel bad for their flight attendants.

  • will never fly AA again

  • I hope you will change your mind - we would love to have you fly with us again......unfortunately many other airlines are going through the very same situations as far as work rules. Our manangement, however is unique in the way of their greed - they love their bonuses and continue to reward themselves as we are struggling to make ends meet. My husband and I who both work for American are down $12,000 from the time we gave the company the concessions after 9/11 and were threatening bankruptcy.

  • This is true. Please don't blame the faces of AA you actually SEE! We're hurting more than you know. A lot of us Flight Attendants are really suffering as wages have plummeted and we are back in school planning for our future.

  • Unfortunately, because AA management thrives on retaliation, everyone one of you will now get onto someone's shit list and a which hunt will begin. They will stop at nothing to make your life hell. I speak from experience.

  • As in any job..a business structure are always in place.UNfortunately..the worker bee do all the work & the queen bee just take in all their works credit. We live in a World that do not look into the happiness of their workers.Selfishness greed can be a wedge between the owner & employee.

I commend all of you for being courageous enough to air this problems and pray to GOD your management will listen and take action.

A good rapport with your employees is very important.EMPATHIZE UPPER MGT

  • All the flying public should see this! All statements here are true and factual!!

  • Cheers!! The public needs to know all of this!
