As part of a 1991 Gulf War ceasefire, UNSCR 687 stated that if Iraq failed to uphold 687, then the UN would take action by any means necessary.
Iraq failed in all accounts. That's what restarted the 2003 war.

How do we know if Iraq had WOMD's if when the U.N. inspectors were not allowed in specific area's nobody kicked the door in immediately? The problem is, Saddam Hussein signed a piece of paper saying he would allow U.N. inspectors to check for weapons, and he broke this agreement. He then had ~8 months before the U.S. actually invaded. Before the war, oil would pay for reconstruction. Two-and-a-half years after Saddam's statue fell, Iraq still is not exporting what it did before the war. They are 700,000 barrels per day below target. That is roughly $15 billion in lost revenues a year.

The war in Iraq is about upholding Saddam's violations of 17 UN resolution according to the the 1991 ceasefire agreement and the UNSCR 687 - to remove a continuing threat to the region. As part of a 1991 Gulf War ceasefire, UNSCR 687 stated that if Iraq failed to uphold 687, then the UN would take action by any means necessary.
Iraq failed in all accounts. That's what restarted the 2003 war.

How do we know if Iraq had WOMD's if when the U.N. inspectors were not allowed in specific area's nobody kicked the door in immediately? The problem is, Saddam Hussein signed a piece of paper saying he would allow U.N. inspectors to check for weapons, and he broke this agreement. He then had ~8 months before the U.S. actually invaded. I am a national guard veteran of the Iraq occupation.
There were no WMD, and no one was surprised in 2004 when they called off the hunt for WMD.
Cheney and Bush manufactured their reasons for invading Iraq, and - yes- the democrats fell for it.
That is why I came back home to work for Jim Webb's campaign and then Obama's campaign.

I couldn't help but to notice that the clips used of the current Democratic leaders in this video were BEFORE Shock & Awe in March 2003. These leaders (Democratic, Republican, and the American People) used information that was given to them before Shock & Awe and was later proven to be forged by the Bush Administration to make such comments. The GOP conveniently left this fact out. And what's worse is that WE ALL didn't question this false proof offered by Bush.
