@cakire82 Yep the cable runs from the HEADPHONE out to the cab input. Impedence doesn't matter, it will work with a 4, 8 or 16 ohm cab. Just make sure you don't use a mono cable and it will work perfectly.
@mattmanofmeat Definitely guitar speakers. Celestion v30s or g12k-100s would be my preferred choice. I'd use the engl with impulses if the cab/speakers were poor.
that sounds really good! i have not been able to find any pics on the back of this thing. can I go direct from the E 530 to my interface? or would it just sound better recording with my mesa cab?
@weinzhell I think it will always sound better with a real cab, impulses are just a single *snapshot* of your cab, they are static and so sound flat compared to mic'ng a cab. Still, impulses are way better than any amp sim's built in speaker simulations and the Engl works great with them.
I am getting one of these and want to plug the built in power amp into a 2x12 cab with 2-8ohm speakers wired in series. What kind of cable do I need to plug from the input of the Engl to the back of the cab? thanks, I don't want to short the built in power amp.
@fearcomplexmusic Thanks for the reply, is it TRS on both ends of the cable? or just the side that goes into the the preamp? Sorry for the noob questions. I am new to rack gear.
First off, great videos! Your tones are phenomenal. I do have one quick question. I have tried to emulate your sound using the same setup (TSS, Engl e530 amp sim, saturators, eq, etc.) but I have encountered two main problems. First, I get severe phasing issues when quad tracking Fred 0 and Fred 1 (80% and 100% L/R). Also, my final result always sounds a little dull compared to yours. What are you using as an interface? Your final results are always so clean and clear!
@thrumyatmosphere How tight are you quad tracking? If my playing isn't tight enough I hear those phasing issues you mentioned. I usually dual track for the faster and more technical material. Quad tracking works better for the slower chunkier stuff in my experience. I'm using an m-audio profire 2626 interface, though in my earlier videos I used a line 6 toneport.
@mindwalkr Haven't played the e570 but I think the e530 is capable of smooth tones if you don't go past 12 o clock with the treble and hi mid settings
amazing guitar tone out of the E530 possible to share the settings for such great tone?

With the built in power amp it still sounds hella brutal, right?
15viceandvirtues 6 months ago
great sound so, you used a speaker cable right? not an instrument cable.
cakire82 7 months ago
@cakire82 You need a TRS aka "stereo" or "balanced" instrument cable.
fearcomplexmusic 7 months ago
@fearcomplexmusic ..........and then plug that into a guitar cab? Really? how about Impedance levels?

HEllo there! great vids as usual!
I'm looking at the .pdf manual, and don't see the words 'built-in power amp' in any of the graphics (front or back)
Can you tell me what are you referring to exactly?
Thanks much

how loud is the built in power amp?
ibnzjemjr 11 months ago
@ibnzjemjr It's loud enough to annoy someone in the same house but probably not enough to piss off the neighbors.

Hey, are you supposed to run the pre amp through a tube amp head to a cabinet or directly to the cabinet?
EmilFinnas94 1 year ago
Do you suggest guitar cab speakers, or just any cab speakers not necessarily for guitar?
mattmanofmeat 1 year ago
@mattmanofmeat Definitely guitar speakers. Celestion v30s or g12k-100s would be my preferred choice. I'd use the engl with impulses if the cab/speakers were poor.

@fearcomplexmusic OK, because I might buy a cab if I get one, or I'll could I use my Fender Twin combo amp as a power amp and a cab?

Is your Orange cab mono or did you re wire it to stereo?
reversal420 1 year ago
Is your orange cab mono or stereo? You just used a TRS-TRS from preamp to cab? Thanks man!
reversal420 1 year ago
@reversal420 The orange is mono but can be rewired for stereo. Yep just a trs cable from the headphone out of the engl to the input of your cab.

What settings you got the amp on?
Vilechild666 1 year ago
@Vilechild666 I think I actually had all the settings maxed out, except the gain which was about half way.

Hey buddy, you could spend some preset you use in the areas of sampling. either, metal foundry and addictive drums. I thank you for life.

great sound! Do you think it's better value than the Engl e570 ? I mean, it's 1000 eur cheaper :)
I wonder how the e530 performs for more creamy, not metal stuff too.. the e570 seems to do it quite well from what I've heard here on youtube

Yeah, the built in power amp sounds great and it´s a good thing it has been built in by ENGL.
I think it beats the Gigmaster, maybe ENGL should come up with a small combo version of the e530.
Robin :o)

@RobinStrower Good idea Robin, I also think an e530 combo could be a winner!
