I was convinced that Gbagbo lost the elections til I saw the events leading up to his capture and subsequent to his arrest. The fact that the UN and French troops played the central role in his downfall made me wonder what was in it for them. I also did not see the festive celebrations among the population that I so expected after his arrest. I think Africans should reflect on what kind of government is better, this presidential system is too expensive. I will suggest something like parliamentary system and with a flexible means of making coalition on the basis of key issues or policy. More importantly the LGA administration needs reformation.

After viewing pictures of Ouattara's troops practically molesting Simone Gbagbo, there is no question in my mind that these troops did commit the rape and murders that they had been accused of.
I believe that their behaviour is simply either a direct reflection of Ouattara values or a demonstration of his inability to direct and lead his troops. Either way, Ivory Coast is in for a long hard future.
I predict the Ouattara will use the same means to stay in power as did Gbagbo.

I was convinced that Gbagbo lost the elections til I saw the events leading up to his capture and subsequent to his arrest. The fact that the UN and French troops played the central role in his downfall made me wonder what was in it for them. I also did not see the festive celebrations among the population that I so expected after his arrest. BBC showed just a hand full of people celebrating in the streets and a greater number in the background quietly looking on.
