  • Thanks Mom!

  • I just saw the commercial and wanted to see a real video.

  • you can get a really nice electric fireplace stove at Target or Home Depot for about $75. Great ambiance, and these devices are definitely built to last

  • The marketing IS a scam, but for a faux fireplace, in a cabinet made of REAL wood(its not particle board), its not a "rip off". If all you want is a 1500 watt heater, then no its not worth 300 bucks. But if you want a fake fireplace with a nice looking flame, nice looking cabinet, and is also a 1500 watt heater, then no, its not a rip off at all.

  • I think that this heater is great! You are basically paying for a heater and the look and feel of a real fireplace. You are paying for the added AMBIANCE! There is nothing wrong with that.

  • umm....I thought the Amish did not believe in technology or electricity?! I went to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to learn all about the Amish. Besides, these are made in Ohio and China, not Pennsylvania, aren't they?

  • Tacky in a 1970s sorta way. Add some shag carpeting and a fondue pot and you'll really be stylin'!

  • "everything was made by the amish"??? Better read up on it, actually only the the wooden mantle is made by amish, rest is made in China.

  • So you have a heat surge on and your fan is on too? In your freezing room, nice.

  • These cost $350 right? WalMart sells an amazing Sunbeam heater for $18. They're both 1,500 watts - you cannot go any bigger. That means this heater cannot put out any more heat than the little heater from WalMart.

It's cool if you want to pay extra for the mantle and the fake fire, but just know that you can get the same amount of heat for $332 less.

  • Heat Surge is a proven SCAM. Look it up online.

Order one of these made in CHINA pieces of crahp and you will regret it. It's 1500 watts. And a little 1500 watt heater from the hardware store makes the SAME HEAT....but doesn't cost you $300 dollars PLUS shipping!.....for something ADVERTIZED AS FREE! etc. etc. etc.

    BEWARE!

  • theres nothing wrong with it... its pretty sweet if u have an apartment with no fireplace. these things really to heat a room up. but yeah a small heater will do the same job. its just a little nicer to have i think.

  • Glad you haven't encountered problems yet.

I spent about an hour just now fixing it and at least I can sleep without hearing that intermittent screeching noise. I'll make a video parody/ tutorial on repair as I will be fixing the downstairs one tomorrow.

  • The heater IS free. I got one, Ive had it since I first saw it here on this channel and spoke with the owner. You are paying for the cabinet and they state at heat surge its from China so where's the scam? Even the heater is under contract at no extra cost. You can get the cabinets for as little as $199. my heat bills are less since I run this all day because I keep the thermostat down. Its a piece of furniture, Cabinet Made in OHIO, Not China! I wouldnt have a crappy heater in my livingroom.

  • My best advice is to research it, call them and also talk to people who actually own them like I did. Im very happy with mine :-)

  • Get one of those pieces of crap for $199 huh? Gee, how much does it cost to ship one of those things moron? Or do you expect people to believe that you don't know the definition of the word "get"? And your heat bills are less lol!? Less than WHAT idiot? The same amount of electricity puts out the SAME amount of heat no matter what form its in, whether it's a heater, a lightbulb, a radio, a TV, or a fridge! Yet somehow YOUR bills are way down, since you "run this all day" ??? LMAO!

  • GMPNY, you are a liar. And a JEW (yes, in the bad sense). And you work for the company. Everything you've said is garbage. And your Crapsurge business is a SCAM. DO NOT fuck with people asswipe.

  • They dont even MENTION buying the heater, you are paying for the mantle and thats what they advertise. I bought the mantle, the hearth and the mirror. As I said, its shipped right from Ohio, the cabinetry is made by the Amish and sold by HeatSurge. No offense but you had it wrong.

  • There's a SUCKER born every minute.

  • i was wondering if anyone actually purchased one of these looks cool though but way.... too bulky

  • "its hand crafted by the amish" the unit itself is from china. the "mantle" is what is supposedly hand crafted. but since when do amish handcraft laminated particle board? they build there barns with particle board now? Glad to see its still profitable to use the general publics stupidity for sales.

  • @drsta84 lol yea when do they make electric heaters

  • They look like console TV sets from the 60s and 70s

  • i resent that, don't mention fallout 3 in your insults, as for halo, i dont give a fuck.

  • @juggalo4man ok so are they any good? that's all i wanna know. idon't care who built them. do they put off heat and are they tough?

  • LOL This Heat Surge is not Amish made, because the Amish do NOT believe in electricity and the Heat Surge was made in Ohio not Pennsylvania. It's sure expensive for a heater being made of steel when actually steel rusts. For that amount of money, it should be made of stainless steel.

  • FUCK off liar GMPNY

  • What a gentleman.

  • It was delivered in the mall! but they said the amish bring it to your house by horse! lol!!!!!!!!! Its in the commercial! ... Lameo!

  • they probably did until they got locked up for causing a pile up on the freeway.

  • Lol I sell these for a living

  • we all do

  • the amish make the mantles my ass the people in the pics r paid dressups

  • Ahahahahahahah what a joke. Why do they new to limit these anyway lol

  • I'm sure it adds a little to your electricity bill but at the same time it confines energy to a place of your choosing which makes it more efficient.

  • Is there some reason why a 35 dollar little ceramic heater won't heat a room just the same? No, there isn't. Because it will. But of course people want to spend hundreds of dollars for a phoney fire, in a cabinet made of particle board do they? lol

  • "The amish have limited only 2 per househould" .

That part of the commercial made me laugh so hard I cried.

  • The amish don't work with items that operate with electricity... or do they like being filmed.

The commercial is a rip off. You can buy a 1500 watt heater for probably $25 or so. Half of what it costs to ship the heat surge.

  • sure they do, just not from others. Although alot of them have cell phones these days.

  • Not all Amish communities are exactly alike, while it is true many Amish communities don't want to be photographed, that is not true for ALL the Amish, some Amish have cell phones, some have more modern gadgets, it's up to elders in their particular community for what they are allowed to have and not have. I know this because my wife's father was Amish as a teenager, and she lived around Amish all her life.

  • okay jessica

  • "The Amish have placed a limit of two...."

Yeah right! The Amish have nothing to do with this marketing ploy, that's management of the company producing the products and it's wrong to use their name for such things.

Besides, IF the Amish were involved it would make sense NOT to limit the sales because they can obviously make more money which is the entire point of even doing it right?

We called and were told that you can buy as many as you want!!

The Amish wouldn't put their name in this crap!

  • The Amish make the mantles you tool. They don't make the heater itself. They also don't make the power source, a company by the name of: Andong Electrical Appliances, are the ones who are responsible for it.

  • Nobody said they made the power source you "tool" (Quaint use of vocabulary). The Amish though do not get involved in business affairs of companies and dictate policy. I stand by what I said. You can buy as many as you want and it is a cheap rip off using the Amish reputation.

As I originally stated, Business 101: if you are trying to make money don't limit your output. Marketing 101: claim that there is a limited number so people think that they must buy now.or miss out.

  • The Amish(as you obviously proclaim to know more than me) go by majority leadership, what I mean is this: If the leader is apart of the newer Amish age, or they aren't traditionalist.

As I am newly stating, Criminal Justice 101: somebody who feels as though you questioned what they know, will most likely get defensive, and use their knowledge in a certain field to out-think you. Profiling 101: their new response will most likely be something that discredits what you said.

  • I should have went in depth more about the Amish leadership system. If the Amish leader isn't apart of the Traditional movement, then they have no issues appearing on camera. Perfect example. About 60 miles from where I live, the Amish has a "dog farm"- as they called it; needless to say, it burned down, killing all puppies. The Amish appeared on camera, expressing their sorrow for the puppies, and on what happened. One even expressed his rage because it was deemed by the state as Arson.

  • You obviously would like to take this to some personal level beyond the topic of cheap fireplaces. I have far better things to do than wage an internet war over some inane point with a nameless, faceless troll. I also don't care to wage a war of intellect with an unarmed man but your comment on criminal justice 101 gave me quite a chuckle. If only you knew my occupation. You go for their cheap marketing ploy and buy this piece of crap and I won't, it's really just that simple.

  • Who said I bought it? I'm not some unintelligent ghoul who knows nothing about propaganda, and manipulation through: Bait And Switch tactics, Guerrilla marketing, Greenwashing, Glittering Generalities, and the use of- "Plain Folks". It's really that simple, and pathetic if somebody falls for it . If only people weren't fools. You did start the battle of wits by trying to make me look like the fool. And because I left you aghast, you are getting defensive.

  • A real amish craftsperson would not produce an item which is laminated pieces of wood (which the top clearly is). No self respecting Amish sect would associate themselves with this item.

  • Not only that, but I cracked up laughing during the commercial - because the Amish would never allow themselves to be caught on film. They feel it is a sin, to have 'graven images' of themselves, this includes the video on the commercial. Also, some of the men had shaved beards and wore brightly colored clothing - and only the Mennonites wear bright colored shirts.

  • Having spent a lot of time at Amish livestock auctions, purchasing REAL amish furniture, and learning their building techniques and joinery (Lancaster, PA) the mantle is a joke. Saying you pay 300 bucks for the laminated wood mantle (the fact that they show chisels and block planes in the faked photos is hilarious) and the heater (made in china) is free, is like being told that when you buy a fridge, 300 bucks is for the handle on the front and they throw in the rest of the components for free.

  • Not doin' too well now, are you? JEW.

  • they are amish american for the politically correct or maybey they are mexican amish american hmmmm? made by brother pedro and brother jose

  • I mean, I sell them. They only construct the mantels. lol

  • Have you ever seen the commercial for this? It's like they're raping the Amish!

  • Major props for having "Paris Hilton" as a tag. But anyway interesting review. How's it going so far?
