First time I heard Phil was around a decade ago driving north on I-17, it was the non-competitive sports show. I heard that stuff and had to pull over and wake my wife to hear it. That was a good one. BTW Leykis likes it Greek with other dudes.
It's the difference between the juggler who juggles 3 tennis balls and the one who juggles 7 razor sharp daggers while riding a unicycle on a highwire, blindfolded, singing the national anthem backwards using circular breathing. Hendrie = Genius. Leykis may even be good, only heard a few shows, but there's no competition.
The ability Phil has to not only respond to the callers but interact with them from 2 and 3 story lines, at the speed in which he does it AND continue to be Phil while live on the air is on itself genius. Add to that his comedic talents and number of difficult voice impressions and you have a show that is unrivaled, no matter how good the competition, it's on another level.
You have average, good, great, excellent and then you have genius. What defines a genius? A person with the ability to use his faculties in a way that transcends even that of masters. Also in the complexity of the feats these geniuses perform, others, by instinct realize they are basically one of a kind....

This wasn't that funny compared to his other Combover Boy bits. They usually stuck to one or two themes, but this seemed like an unfocused mix of all the running gags about Leykis. I think I might have been distracted by being able to hear Phil's breathing, which I don't think I've ever noticed before except from his phone characters intentionally doing it.

What a crappy guy this phil hendrie. He voted for obama (he said it himself). Had he not voted for obama he would have redeeming characteristics. In fact you might think of him as a nice guy. Now I know what I think of him, he´s a stupid guy. In reality he is a very, very crappy guy. He´s got not redeeming qualities. He is negative, he is destructive. He is a pile of shit.

Tom Leykis and Phil Hendrie, when they had daily syndicated programs, were the two most interesting and entertaining personalities on the radio -- and yes, I am comparing them to Howard Stern. Maybe that's the reason for the personality clash. Their styles and formats were totally different. How can you compare the one to the other? They were both great.

Leykis wasn't canned, the station changed formats and Leykis can't do a radio show until his contract expires with CBS in either 2011 or 2012. he will be back. and he's still getting paid! leykis is the man! kramer is an idiot. it's not tom's responsibility to lower his salary for a loser like him. if the station couldn't pay tom and everyone else, they shouldn't have signed him to a contract like that.by the way,leykis didn't bash him after this on his last show. he has class.

First time I heard Phil was around a decade ago driving north on I-17, it was the non-competitive sports show. I heard that stuff and had to pull over and wake my wife to hear it. That was a good one. BTW Leykis likes it Greek with other dudes.

It's the difference between the juggler who juggles 3 tennis balls and the one who juggles 7 razor sharp daggers while riding a unicycle on a highwire, blindfolded, singing the national anthem backwards using circular breathing. Hendrie = Genius. Leykis may even be good, only heard a few shows, but there's no competition.

The ability Phil has to not only respond to the callers but interact with them from 2 and 3 story lines, at the speed in which he does it AND continue to be Phil while live on the air is on itself genius. Add to that his comedic talents and number of difficult voice impressions and you have a show that is unrivaled, no matter how good the competition, it's on another level.

I enjoy Tom's show but it is true what Phil is saying, Tom doesn't like women. I know for a cat he is gay. That being said, I still find him very entertaining.

Let me put this Leykis vs Hendrie debate to rest. Howard Stern has visited Hendrie in studio doing his thing, and called him the real king of radio. Other radio legends have visited his studio, and basically said he may be the most talented person in radio history. His talent is fucking sickening. His show currently is garbage compared to the late 90's to early 2000's.

@KingBizarre Tom Leykis has said time after time that the talk radio business is a dying one&he was right,day after day more and more good shows across the country are going to AM radio or Sirius.With the shitty economy,CBS opted to replace everyone on 97.1 FM for a"top 40 commercial-free"station which is basically an ipod on shuffle (with long commercials like every hour).Tom was the #1 show for the better part of 12 years in L.A. He is now also on an AM station.

leykis is still getting paid by CBS because hes under contract. until 2011 or 2012 i think. he's off the air only because the station changed formats and he's not allowed to be on air elsewhere until that expires. similar to what happened to conan o'brien when nbc dumped him. he will be back. get your facts straight you idiot! tom leykis is the man!

@KingBizarre because CBS cut back on the Free FM network, which Tom just so happened to have been a part of.
And just an fyi, Tom's contract went off the air in like 2008, but his contract didn't end until 2012. Believe it or not, he is STILL getting PAID the EXACT amount he was being paid when his show was in the air and he will CONTINUE to receive pay from CBS until 2012. So basically he's getting paid a 7 figure salary for 4 years for not doing anything. Yeah, he sucks all right.

This wasn't that funny compared to his other Combover Boy bits. They usually stuck to one or two themes, but this seemed like an unfocused mix of all the running gags about Leykis. I think I might have been distracted by being able to hear Phil's breathing, which I don't think I've ever noticed before except from his phone characters intentionally doing it.
