Ian Tyson has been making "music like this" since the 60's. Even the first song he wrote "Four Strong Winds" was on the borderline. He and Tom have collaborated on some fine songs as well - "Navaho Rug" being a good example - amazing imagery in that song - especially at the beginning.

I enjoyed a great evening of music with Tom about a year back - thanks Matt for setting it up.

@riley191919 Dude, I am a farmer on the weekdays and I cowboy on the weekends. I live in Montana, eastern, RURAL country. I generally don't sleep when we are bailing hay/alfalfa/straw/barley. I run a '06 John Deere bucket and duallies. And why the hell would I want to piss on a snake? I may be stupid but I aint stupid enough to get my pecker bit.

Whenever we see him, he will usually play "Tonight We Ride" for my Mom. She's 85 and that is our "drivin' around" music and he got a kick out of that the first time we told him that.
