Well a lot 'o good cowpunchers has gone that way cause they did not do what real cowboys do and that is: stay in camp, shoe yer horses, make a colt, doctor sick un's, fix fence, windmill some and make long, long circles between the spring and fall works fer 800.00 , beef and house! Oh, and when they git to town they will sure fight 'ye fer usin' Dude ..... that's not what Rodeo, Feedlot er Drugstore cowboys do, but is whut cowpunchers do! Hey, ol' Pancho was his own kinda man .......... huh?
I am looking for tablature for this song (guitar). If anyone has access to tablature or sheet music (preferably in key of C) please post a link to it in the comments. This is one awesome song I would love to be able to play.
We had this song blaring with the windows rolled down on our way to a rodeo in Riverton Wyoming this weekend, one of those songs you'll always associate with the fun of memories. Great times....
Whoa! this is one awesome song, gotta buy this one, this is real cowboy stuff. I'm a real fan now of Tom Russell, he's got the same kind of cowboy talent as Ian Tyson. Keep writing them buddy, this is real awesome talent.
Ian Tyson has been making "music like this" since the 60's. Even the first song he wrote "Four Strong Winds" was on the borderline. He and Tom have collaborated on some fine songs as well - "Navaho Rug" being a good example - amazing imagery in that song - especially at the beginning.
I enjoyed a great evening of music with Tom about a year back - thanks Matt for setting it up.
Hey gringos, i like your country music... but Pancho Villa it´s to much. You got a be more respect jajaja. However...good song. I respect your southern way to live. Long life to authentic people. Viva Villa Cabrones!!!!
@riley191919 Dude, I am a farmer on the weekdays and I cowboy on the weekends. I live in Montana, eastern, RURAL country. I generally don't sleep when we are bailing hay/alfalfa/straw/barley. I run a '06 John Deere bucket and duallies. And why the hell would I want to piss on a snake? I may be stupid but I aint stupid enough to get my pecker bit.
As a feller who has punched cow's on a few outfits, i got to tell ya'll this is a song wrote fer cowpunchers, cowboys and buckaroos! If you ain't made a pair o' chaps, or own a silver spade bit, Hell .... yew got no idee whut this song is really about!!!!!!! Purty work, just good!!!!!!!!! Thanks a heap pard.
I listened to this while the Lakers eliminated the Suns from the playoffs and marched on to the glory of the REPEAT & SENDING THE BOSTON CELTICS HOME WITH A FADING LEGACY....YEE-HAW !
LOS ANGELES LAKERS DYNASTY 3-PEATS...YEE-HAW AMIGOS !
Whenever we see him, he will usually play "Tonight We Ride" for my Mom. She's 85 and that is our "drivin' around" music and he got a kick out of that the first time we told him that.
Lucky dog ! Tell him to look up buk scene online, a magazine that I published with my dutch boyfriend. We'd like to have him write something for us for our second issue.
It is a magazine based on Charles Bukowski' s work. I've bought his book of letters but I can't get in touch with him.
In a pub in Leeds two tossers belt out this fantastic song .caught on mobile phone and stuck on our myspace......if we drink ourselves to death aint that the cowboy way to go....
terrific vocals and lyrics!
