If the shark hasn't left the area that mean's it hasn't finished eating.It could attack other swimmer's.They would want to harass it to leave to catch and kill it being a man eater.I think they may be looking also for body parts from the victim.A arm or leg perhaps.Or another body..

Umm the water is the SHARKS DOMAIN, if people are stupid enough to go in there, it's not the shark's fault if they get hurt.

@Fight0Tyranny I agree with you to some extent.The swimmer's know it's skark infested water.They chose to swim there,it's their problem.And you are right that the ocean's are the shark's domain.But this did happen unfortunately and the authorities felt it was in the best interest of the public and the victims family to kill the animal and recover the body. I'm not saying it's right by any mean's.Just the fact's of their reality.

i was part of the surf rescue we had to shut down the beach was pretty hard alot of dumb surfers out there lol..
