hi mate in this vid its a seymour mini jb and not sure of other pickups. now it has kent armstrong hotrail and 2 cheap squire single coils :). i sold the amp so im afraid i cant give you settings. the guitar is a 90s japanese strat :)
i am thinking of buying this amp. I have an Ibanez JEM and am wondering what is it like for the whole instrimental style of music I want something with a nice warm tone on clean but can really wail when I shred. do you think it could give me that? I have a jemini distortion pedal also aha I tried some fender amps and they didnt agree with me.
hi mate i would seriously recommend the dsl 50 watt head and a 2x12 or 4x12 cab. i dont think vintage modern will really do it for you. i got rid of mine. worth trying a jvm too again i would recommend a head and cab over a combo. I always find you cant get enough bass out of a combo :)
first i would say try them both cause everyones opinion is there own. fender amp very good for clean not great for overdrive and marshall is the oposite but im sure some people will tell you otherwise :)
Dude, im just fed up. After hearing so many good guitarist on Youtube i thought that noone could impress me anymore. But this... You just totally blew me away. Anyway, good luck mate
cheers mate great comment, i used to practice a lot until i discovered beer and girls lol :). i have been playing for 18 years now and i think its important to really enjoy it.
Hey, I've been wathcing your videos and trying to copy some of the technique you have for tips. And its been killing me, what are your greatest influence? I mean I see a ALOT of blues but are you fond of John Petrucci or Vai or Satch?
I'v been listening to a few of your vids, really like your sound and I'v been looking into getting a vintage modern amp or maybe an orange ad30. How do you like yours. Is it a good way to go? Keep up what your doing:D
hi mate i didnt really get on with it to be honest. traded it for a dsl 50 watt which suited me much better. i would highly reccomend testing them out so you get the right one for you.
What amp would you recommend for playing rock/blues. I want to get a Fat/warm/crunchy/dirty sound. I play a Strat. Awesome guitar playing btw! Thanks for displaying the MV. From reading the comments looks like you gave that one up.
hi mate yeah i got rid of the vm cause it wasnt doing it for me, also got a jvm but its so full of circuits i think the tone has suffered. in my honest opinion the best amp i have played through is the 50 watt marshall dsl into a 2x12 cab oh and i own one now lol. check out my new vids for a demo of it but must say it sounds better in real life. hope this helps your decision :)
main reasons are the effects loop is terrible and the reverb is worse lol. the replacement valves are very expensive because they are kt66 oh and i just got a marshall dsl 50 which is just amazing.:)
Absolutely brilliant! Im looking for a vintage modern 2266 combo atm but i am poor haha. I only have £450 to spend on a decent amp at the moment. I have a Gibson Les Paul Classic and a line 6 pod XT atm. anyone help me out??
its a blues backing track and im playing the blues scale. I have been told its more like texas blues but oh well, at the end of the day its just me showing off. :)
Hey, I gotta a new Marhall VintageModern Amp too!! I love the sound. Great playin'. Check out my "Eric Clapton Style " video to hear my new amp!Cheers!
hi mate im using an mxr microamp just for a bit of kick at bedroom amp volume oh and a bad horsie 2 thats it. its a kent armstrong stacked humbucker at the bridge and 2 really cheap squire start pickups mid and neck :)
Just wondering how loud your amp goes. I have the same amp and with a tele plugged in on full, and the master full, pre-amps full & on the high gain setting, my friends fender deville matches it at volume about 40%. This sound right to you?
hi mate yes that sounds right its weird when i use at my local pub i have volume up to half but with my spider valve which is 40 watts i have it at about quarter to 12. Think its just the way it is. hope this helps. oh by the way my effects loop is total crap and doesnt like any delay pedals at all. :(
plus the fenders use a linear taper pot instead of an audio taper pot. So, in other words, you get all your volume from 2-5 on the fenders, where an audio taper pot would give you a smooth sweep from 1-10. Sadly, the Deville doesn't get any louder once you're up to 4, it just gets more compressed.
well, maybe it's not that warm, but it's a fuckin' good playing anyway, I really enjoy your style! If you got .."more feeling" probably you'd get even better! bad comments are shit
ok maybe its a bit more satriani than bb king but leave it with me and i will record a new one with more feeling over the weekend. cheers for the comment> : )

Actually, I think you'll find that if he played that in a club or that was put on in the car or whatever, the 'feeling' would be excitement and enjoyment. So ... you're talking out of your ass. Not everyone has to create an 'emotional' solo that makes people cry. Gawds sake, the word 'emotion' caters to many different feelings. Learn what it means before slagging off quality playing like this!
