  • The Earth obviously has larger areas of water, than land. With parts of it's oceans, actually deeper than Everest is high! And if it's ice caps are melting, that means even more water. Something is obviously very wrong here.

  • What's the song, and who sings it? So appropriate!

  • @12stringcharlie

"Tears from the sky" sung by paul Dillon

  • humans are making drought

  • Greenies must be so pissed of with all this rain, anyone tell me-

When did you last hear a someone from the greens politcal party say, isn't it great to see the rain!

    So much for the drought.

As late as 1.5 years ago, BOM were predicting continued drought into 2011/2012/2013.

10 years ago, the UK education system were telling students, in 2010 and onwards, snow will not exist in their country because of climate change....

And isn't it funny, how these people can't admitt they are wrong!

  • @MRMILO57 The drought here has finally broken (and in a huge way). While many will not complain about the drought breaking due to the force it broke (major flooding) many farmers are still no better off. Floods have ruined crops that will take years to recover (especially fruit) and the floods swept away and killed many cattle and other farm animals. Those that live have very little green grass. It's ther farmers I feel for.

  • @BeautifulPurity ....l completely agree with you, feel very sorry for the farmers affected. As for the Australian climate, it can go from one extreme to the other as we have found out within 1.5 yrs, after a drought.

l say lets have a nation wide tree planting day every year, that would completely wipe out the need for any 'AIR TAX'!

  • I live Australia And i love this song our teacher showed us this video and it just is so true in some parts of AUSTRALIA!!! :)

  • Use mighty power of nature

In the northwestern Australia, we have huge tides,

huge deserts, huge evaporation and huge dry rivers and lakes.

Huge 12m tidal erosion can revive old dry paleo dormant once mighty rivers, creeks and lakes,

desalinate the country and change deserts to rain forests to provide more rain across Australia

World population is growing rapidly and we need more energy, food, land and water.

  • glad we are out of the drout for now.

  • thats very bad didnt know it was that bad.glad i live in manchester england.

  • @SuperKippax I live in Australia dont worry its not that bad only in some parts of Australia :)

  • dont ya bloody love australia, wouldnt live anywhere else

  • @34ramjet too bad you're just european invaders who stole the land and are the cause of this mess. stop mining millions of tons of dirty coal and wiping out land and environment which belongs to the aborigines

  • @PanzerBlitz43 At least our country didn't have slaves.. pretty much like your own country with native americans huh

  • You poor buggers! is there anything people can do to help?

  • I think people have got to see that no ALL of Australia is like this. Some parts are actually very moist and green.

    It just depends.

&& I woould know, because I actually live in Aus.

  • @AustralianAreRacists

You're a fucking dickhead. You know that?

  • Shame on us Humans. We destroy the earth. We feel superior to nature. And then suddenly we start asking God to help us after messing up everything.

  • Comment removed

  • @AustralianAreRacists: go and choke.

  • But what is being done by the international community, to help you? There must be ways of getting water to the drought areas, building pipelines etc?

    this is so awful!

  • Australia is vast continent, it has a very diverse climate.

Drought is part of this country, and it will be in the future weither we human are here or not.

Half of Victoria is finally out of drought, were I live, 5 consecutive months of above average rain fall, there's even flooding.

It all comes back you the individuals locality.

Pockets of Australia are far from in drought.

  • Global warming didn't cause the drought. someone drop a giant shamwow

  • Windmill536 ....hehe you made me smile.

    Ban shamwow's l say!

  • This is terrible!

Can water be piped from the sea and desalinated?

    and what is a shamwow?

  • south australia is really bad.

  • Thats heart

  • see the video response its of a song I wrote about the hardships of farming in a land of inflation, no rain, and struggles with suicide

  • unfortunatly that is the truth my girl

  • why did people thumb this down?

  • THAT IS FUCKEN AWESOME

  • The US news isnt reporting on your drought. Im very sorry to see this video. I m not sure what we can do here but id rather help you than the africans.

  • Well where Im from its only rained twice since the start of November (total 1 mm), currently 44 days straight without any rain.

  • my 5 yr old watched this video with me and wanted to send you some water...i wish it were that easy...we had a very serious drought here in the southeast for three of the past 5 years...things have improved since last year but water tables are still very low. Of course we havent had anything at all like you re experiencing.

  • This video is terrible. It mentioned the drought here in the UK on the news, did'nt realise it was this bad though. South- East England had a severe drought in from winter 2005- spring 2006, reservoirs were only 30% full, but i suppose it was nothing compared to parts of Australia.

  • I think it is not reported because it has been going on for so long. That is part of the reason why the February fires here were so bad......everything was so dry from the drought and due to high temps the CFA and forestry here was unable to do regular burn offs of the bush undergrowth to prevent a bad fire.

  • I live in South Aussie the driest state in the driest country in the driest continent in the World!

  • i was wondering, where can i get or download this song from ?

  • The website I got the song from it stated at the end of the clip. As far as I know it is only available online.

  • Australia is great country.

  • What a great song, the lyrics are fantastic and the melody is beautiful, well done Paul Dillon !

  • Wow, this is so sad, and so eye opening! I'm lucking to live in te Far North, where we are well soaked, but I wish for once, this rain would go to those down south.

    Very good video BeautifulPurity ;)

  • hye there... can anyone tell me what is the name of the song? i really need an env song for my final year research presentation.. thanks!

  • Paul Dillon- Tears from the sky..

It shows you at the end of the video.

  • It says what it is in the credits at the end

  • Hi I am the independent candidate for Forde and I came off farming land and have seen droughts. What our Government is not doing is explaining that the dryer time we are in is a result of the curve and tilt of the earth which happens every 250 years and this curve lasts I'm sorry to say for about 34 years. The Government signed an agreement called the Lima agreement, check it out and you will see why your not getting the help you need. The answer is with you, you need to stand Independents!

  • Hello Aussie, Are you sure its not global warming that causing the worst drought in recorded history, look at the record rain in QLD

  • I'm wondering how do the trees stay green even though there is a drought? Where could the trees be getting their water from?

  • the trees around aus are tough as shit an get their water from the ground

  • hahah

  • hello from drought stricken mildura, we need rain before its too late. this town relies on its foodbowl. if the drought continues mildura will see unemployment ratings fly though the roof, many will have to pack up and leave their farms that have been theirs for generations.

  • Hello yoeeb, Does not look good for mildura , with clmate change creating havoc with the rain falls in the southern states of this great country of ours, melb water levels down to 28% and a population near 4million whats it going to be like in 20 years from now with global tempartures raise by 2c

  • I'm fortunate to be living in a well soaked Scottish countryside where our summer has been more wet than it has been in many many years. I really am surprised and deeply saddened to see what is happening in Australia.

What surprised me a bit is that i probably wouldn't know about this drought if it wasn't for the fact i have been researching things about Australia due to me moving there at the end of the month.

I hope your winter has been quite wet and things are good for farmers now.

  • Gee what an intelligent comment! But what else can one expect from a kid. I would love to know what you think 30 yrs from now though...

  • oh just get over yourself. you have no heart. you have no idea what drought is doing to australias farmers

  • I hope it will start raining soon in Australia were it is needed. Isnt some of the problem man-made so to speak? Australia has over 20 million inhabitants, maybe time to end the growing population? If people stopped to eat animals it would save enourmos amounts of water instead of feeding up lots of animals and so forth..

  • Global warming is a contributor. But to suggest everyone become vegetarian is simply silly, because plants need just as much water as the livestock. Livestock last better in droughts, wheat farmers and the like loose an entire years salary.

  • If the water given to the animals were used directly to water plants instead of first growing the plants, then feeding up lots of animals for food consumtion. I know it is unrealistic for people to make rational changes in their lifestyle..

  • Obviously you do not know much about Australia. To water the plants like you suggest requires irrigation and it is the irrigation here in many parts of Australia that has caused a major salinity issue and most outback areas where drought is ongoing chooses cattle because they require less water that plants.

  • I'm not worried about this drought at all. I have a kick-ass SUV and I'll just fill it up with gas and drive to find some water wherever. Cool!

  • Only an ingnorant American would make such a comment.

  • Here is another video about the terrible Aussie drought! Click my name, see vid Winter Sun, Summer Rain.

  • Queensland doesn't know what to do with all the rain that falls in its north... Why can't the southern states use this water to fill their dams?

  • Government is incompetent to deal with this issue. It is up to the people now to change things & survive.

  • Isnt there a way to make ocean water drinkable?

its all around aussie-land so hmm..maybe it would cost to much i dont know:o(

    just looks so depressing

  • The NSW government is going to build a desalination plant for Sydney, costing billions of dollars, to make sea water drinkable. We get some rain in Sydney... they should build one of those plants for the farmers west of the mountains.

  • Get rid of Howard then I will turn on the tap again.

  • i have seen one too my drought as i grew up on a farm. now eveyone keep david in dancing with the stars, it goes to a grew cause!!

  • I would love to send you any raindrop we receive within the next month. Sometimes we have just too many of them here in Germany.

  • i feel so sorry, my dads a harvest

  • One farmer suicide every four days. Friggin rain damn it.

  • a beautiful vid, and with beautiful music. i hope it rains soon, stupid climate change. stay strong farmers
