Geweldig dit optreden van Rock Werchter. En het intervieuw van Jim is ook echt super! Jammer dat het beeldkwaliteit niet meer zo zuiver is. Maar ik hoop dat mensen nog meer filmpjes plaatsen van Rock Werchter. Ik ben een hele grote fan van de band. En ga nog steeds naar hun concerten.

I was there live ! I am now 49 and still remeber this as one of the highlights that evening !

@gazzatopdude1 Early stuff is top quality. e.g. New Gold Dream from 1982 is a stunning piece of work. That is just one example.

Every time I ask myself....what on earth happened to them...they were simply magic ! until 1985.....such a shame...Jim, you took us to the sky !!!!

When a band goes so high (New Gold Dream, Sparkle In The Rain etc) they can only come down.

Once Upon A Time isn't too bad but after that the magic kind of fades. You can see in the music video for All The Things She Said that he's trying really hard to be like Bono. Shame really.

@theredraven Actually in the beginning it Bono and U2 aspired to have a sound like Simple Minds. And you can hear it clearly on U2's early albums. Somehow SM began following the "U2 formula" and I guess it went wrong. I may be biased though since I am an American and my first introduction to SM was Don't You....Then OUAT and I worked BACKWARDS to Life In A Day .
