loves combo edges = credibility fail, your opinion is now null and void.
Do you like tanto blades as well? *snicker*
Combine that with the wonder and amazement that the finger grooves are for fingers, and that you can fit your cruddy fingernail further into the end of the knife, wtf was that about? Who cares about that or that your work pants have no pockets?
I'm looking to buy a mini barage, in a limited edition blue handle version. I'm wanting a black blade but the satin finish is less expensive. Which do you prefer?
Thanks for the comparison. Carry IWB if you have no pockets. The ring seems like more trouble than it's worth. I just got a big Barrage (plain edge black). It's cool. What knife store do you buy from locally?
the points are shaped quite differently. I find the full-sized barrage has a much more useful point, it's easier to get the point into tight spaces. the point on the mini-barrage is much less useful. try to use the two knives as thread rippers, you'll see what I mean. I find I use the point just as much as the belly, so my mini sits in the box on the shelf whereas I use the full-size barrage.
are you crazy, a griptillion??? I have one of both. anyways! I prefer fixed blades. I been carrying my RC-3 and Izula. I used to like Benchmade till the started making some of their stuff in CHI-WAN! ha Griptillion... lol
I have the same exact problem with my Spyderco Native that you have with your mini Benchmade Barrage. My finger nails aren't long at all, but I can get the point of the blade under my finger nail and lift the blade out. I can do it without hesitation and open the knife completely, and make the lock engage. I'm not sure if that's true for all the Spyderco Natives or just mine.
I have to disagree to a large extent. I say, in my opinion, and pre-eighty dollars, I would have to go with a griptillian model, and i say that the 30 dollar spyderco also beats it by a long run.
I like the blade shape on the 585 better. Much belly to it. The 580 is a little spear pointy. I have the 580s and I like it alot. It is also my "left side pocket" carry. Because I keep my pistol on my right. If someone was to grab my gun. I can reach for my blade and stab them up with the left. That's why I do it atleast.

I've carried my 580 for about 6 months and love it. I recommend it for an EDC folder.

Benchmade is delicious. But I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your knife in the woods! That's one of my greatest knife fears.

I noticed that the blade on the 580 has a much different swedge. It goes the entire length of the blade. Not sure how I feel about that.
