I am a league of the south member and it has made a great impact on my life. Lies have been told about southern history for so loog too. Maby the native americans fought with dixie for a Reason! You ought to read the real Lincolin book its a good read and gives alot of info on the subjest of "slavery". You people can make alot of jokes about us and put us down, get us fired from jobs we work hard at for standing up for the sourthern cause. But in the end we will be FREE!!!
Think outside the box for a change and consider what would be best for the Southern people. The League of the South brings that dialogue forward, which is much needed today. I happen to agree that we've once again in our history reached the point where our interests are no longer (if they ever were) served by our political subservience to the rest of the US Empire. As I said, we are fortunate that we have people willing to bring this issue forward.
I'm a "non-white and I don't believe that the Confederacy formed because of slavery because if you look at the federal government today you cas see just what the southerners were trying to get away from! I own A "Rebel" Flag and proud of it! And my ethnicity is African-American!
@SLICKDSM Sir, I can assure you that you would be most welcome in the League of the South. I hope you will contact the State chairman in the State where you reside and share your interest. Thank you for your response here.
Dont get me wrong - if this guy wants to secede from America -- that's his right. Go for it. You have the power to Amend the Constitution to do it .
I just think he is a complete dumb ass about history. But then, if he was fed garbage his whole life about Confederacy, slavery, and secession, what else would he think?
@BullshipDetector That blacks were inferior was a common feeling among both northerners and southerners of the time. It was based on ignorance and passed down information and that most blacks at that time were only a few years out of the jungle and uneducated. If you think the average northerner fought a war as costly as the war for Southern independence to free some blacks you are quite delusional. We have come a long way. Most whites and blacks get along today.
You noted it right..American History , which you obviously didn't understand...Canada wasn't there....??? You Moron!! Shut the hell up and smoke another joint.
Canada is really probably not concerning itself about claiming independence from the U.S.. I bet if everybody that attended the meeting were asked why that might be you might find someone who has an answere and then again none of the attendees might not know. This is really scary stuff.
It kind of makes sense that the Canadians weren't there. Canada isn't a state of the United States... I am hoping people know that. Of course is Quebec wants to leave the federation who cares? Oh and there are 50 states in the US.
I think Hawai'i is putting all its eggs in the Akaka Bill basket. They'll wait to see if the U.S. Congress passes it. If a Democratic Congress and a Democratic president (who by the way, is on record as saying he supports the bill) is not enough to pass it, native Hawaiians will take matters into their own hands.
Actually, yes. I think the very concepts of liberty and tyranny come from the Western tradition and very few non-whites think in those terms. That doesn't mean that they don't exist. It just means that there are very few. I have never heard of a southern black secession movement but could not be opposed to it if it existed.
I know non-whites are aware of the tyranny of government; but often (in the last quarter to half century) it's the local governments that can be the more repressive, while the federal has been (somewhat) the guarantor of civil rights. I don't believe that is still the case, nor will it be in the next quarter century.
how do you figure? I have never heard a thing from the LoS concerning Hawaiians one way or the other. Secession is a-okay for everyone else but not for the South, huh?
@defederalization If that is so, that is too bad. On what would they base such a rejection? I haven't heard anything about the Hawaiian independence movement in quite some time. What is it's status today? Is it growing or dying on the proverbial vine? Just curious.

This guy says "They associated Confederacy with negative aspects of history?
Thats like saying brain cancer "associated with negative aspects of cell division"
Confederacy was "associated" with slavery?
The Confederate leaders bragged slavery was "the great moral truth that Almighty God ordained the white men to enslave the black race"
Both Davis and Stephens both bragged the "Cornerstone" of confederacy was slavery. Associate my ass.
Im sending this guy the quotes.

Give me a break. Blacks use race as a means to get a free ride. Get over it.

It was more of a rhetorical question - I think it was League of the South sponsorship of the event which drove away the Hawaiians for example.
