@TheActualBobaFett No its not fragile. The blade is very durable. There are videos online that shows people having duels with the lightsaber... Upon impact, it will make the clashing energy sounds... Really cool..

It depends on the batteries you use. Energizer batts are good. Its what I'm using. It lights up very brightly. Of course the batt will still die out depending on how long and often you turn it on for..

Well, I believe there is only ONE thing currently stopping us from making them, and that is the fact that we COULD make the laser, but the fact is, I don't think we have the technology to make the light beam stop after three feet.

I mean, a Lightsaber that is going to kill the guy in front of you, as well as everyone within the mile, isn't a very good fighting method.

However, I am currently remodeling one of these with a HIGH powered laser pointer inside one, the same width of the beam in one

Also, I am going to make a few different colored ones when I get the money, but I do have one completely done. It is 1.7W and it burns wood. But, like I said, the beam never ends, so it is like having the world's longest Lightsaber, that can even make you blind!

A "real" lightsaber would be plasma contained in a electromagnetic field. This is very possible, and is in practice currently today.

The real issue is getting a power source that can sustain said electromagnetic field and plasma to fit within the lightsabers hilt.

actually a liughtsaber isn't a laser its a focused beam of plasma contained in an electro-magnetic energy feild wich makes the plasma turn exactly 180 degrees back at a certain distance thus causing enough centrigual force to bend it perfectly towards the hilt thus never running out of energy due to it running from the electricity by the plasma. Scientists also confirm it would be possible and that they have recently been running experiments on stassis fields.

I would recommend the anakin rots as seen in this video. The hilt is much more movie accurate and very shiny. Chromed. The Obi ROTS hilt isn't the same as the one in the movie but it still looks cool... The Obi movie prop has a narrow neck but the FX has a much wider neck which makes it look different..
