The government denied it (figures). However, the publication of that recall was enough to scare the general public. People quit buying them, retailers quit selling them because people were not buying them. These phones have now become rare....and I have one!

  • Thats in beta areas. 6 Major cities right now, No i do not live in one of them.. But with their currently 3Mbps GSM, it beats the crap out of Verizon's 1.8Mbps :)

  • True...but what's the point if you can't use it? That's all I was saying... so for me...at school in NC and home in Jersey/NYC, Verizon and Sprint just demolish ATT. I know it's different in other places. But I got almost 2mbps tethering my tour...I've found it's somewhat phone related too. Blackberry needs to step it up with their software.

  • Wrong. Sprint and Alltel and any other regional CDMA carries also do not use sim cards. They have machines at nearly every Verizon Wireless store that transfers your contacts, thus the pain of "not having a sim card" is eliminated, ha!
