  • Thats really sad.

  • Amazon. What will the people live there do!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this video clip for everyone's awareness. Stop deforestation, for better future.

  • Brazil does not deserve the Amazon.

  • i get it, i see whats being said, shown but am i being stupid by the fact that i had to really focus on the vid to understand the overlays?

  • Crazy. Why can't the billionaires spend their money to stop this? Within 40 years, the Amazon will be gone and we'll lose over 30% of the world's species!

  • It took millions of years for plant decay to make oil.

It took multi-millions of years for the massive amounts of different plants to evolve.

It took MILLIONS of years for our forests to spread, and make good soil for further expansion.

It took hundreds, and thousands of years for our trees to get that tall.

IT ONLY TOOK US 60 YEARS TO RUIN OVER 50% OF THE WORLDS NATURAL HABITATS, AND RESOURCES.

HUGE forests that produces oxygen for us to breathe are dying.

    What's wrong with this?

  • @Jimstaa07 & It's all about money.

  • @Jimstaa07

Although I wholeheartedly agree with that you are saying, and that this is unacceptable, I must correct you on one thing. The forests do NOT produce oxygen for us to breath. The net oxygen/CO2 exchange of a staning, old-growth forest is zero. That is, it produces as much CO2 (through decay) as it takes in, and the same goes for Oxygen. It is, however, a HUGE carbon sink that, if cutdown, would essentially release billions of tons of carbon into our atmosphere.

  • thats SCARY! I dident think it was that bad. I think someone should try and make an artifishle wood so they dont have to cut down all the trees.

  • When the last tree will be cut, the last river poisoned, and the last fish caught... we will know that money cannot be eaten

  • so sad. The day when preserving trees will make more money than cutting them down, there will be hope.

  • It makes me sad how videos like these don't have millions of views

  • I used to work in the Amazon using satellites images for deforestation monitoring and that's scary... In Borneo it's even worse they cut down the equivalent of 300 football fields per hour to plant Palm oil, that WE used in 50% of our packaged food, cosmetic and biofuel. I'm applying to be part of the deforestAction project in Borneo to change that. see my video response.

  • If only they let the trees grow back after they chop them down = no deforestation

  • the congo madagascar the amazon all rain forests that are under pressure from mans development plans due to prospering economies and population growth and inevitably its the indigenous flora and fauna that pays the price for our actions and the sad fact is some of these plants and animals are found nowhere else on earth

  • @Dragonight70 man is encroaching on flora and fauna all over the world, i fear it will be to late for many plants and animals before we realise the consequences of our actions, if we realise them at all basically most people dont really care and just want to get on with their lives, turning a blind eye if you like

  • omg this is terrible, its driven by money!! why does every wild place on earth need to be stripped of it's resources? do they just like saying they have logged every place on earth? its very very sad and happening at a rapid pace. After the forests are logged, they typically plant plantations of one type of tree. :(

  • @weacoo7 this is exactly what happend in europe and amerika aswell. ones you have that you have cut out the resource that people can feed themselves without the need of a so called Food industry which is controlled by these same group of people.

they wanna controll the world and now they sponsor the people in those country's to deforest there woods. so the multinational company's can go there way in a couple of decades.. this is all planned out,

  • @japjapi That's terrible, I never knew it was all planned out. What we as citizens should do is let our voice be heard, say NO to the destruction of our natural resources by corporate interests, grow our own non GMO foods(and share the surplus with others), and overall live freely. We are not free people, even in the US. We have taxes, car/home payments, municipial service fees, etc. We depend on corporations for everything we use. I don't understand how is that free.

  • @weacoo7 we as people just need to open our eyes, understand whats going on, and start claiming our right to REALY live agean.

not this shit were a system is set up were they deside what education i can get what i can learn and what not. why is it that i didnt learn of ne plant that helps people with diabetes while these plants ones were all around us.

we dont need a goverment. only thing a human needs is understanding. with understanding comes respect with respect comes love with love unity

  • These are not exceptions. For decades, the U.S. Forest Service has deliberately clearcut millions of acres of National Forests, selling off the logs to international timber corporations at bargain basement prices. Over the past 10 years, our Forest Service has spent more than 5 billion tax-dollars carrying out the destruction of our National Forests. Timber barons rake in millions, while American taxpayers lose billions!

  • The U.S. Congress has directed the Forest Service to clearcut National Forests on behalf of wealthy and powerful timber and paper corporations. These corporations have bought political influence with Congress to pass laws that liquidate our priceless public forests for private profit

  • i dont need building or homes but i want to live in rainforest so peace

  • The Green on Google isn't even trees.

  • Arctic animals are lucky, 'cause no human wants there land.

  • What a waste.

  • I'm sorry, how the fuck does this have 5 dislikes?

  • @Mogliz0rz complete fucking morons.. man.. just folly & greed.

  • I find it very interesting as an NGO (GREENPEACE) financed with resources, for example, the Holland - a country where every person pollutes 16 times more than a Brazilian - the NGO's here in Brazil and is not there.

NGOs funded by Germany that has not a single tree by the river Rhine.

Europe deforested 99.9% of its native forests. Brazil, on the other hand, holds 32% of native forests in the world today.

  • go take care of your country first and leave the brazilians alone!

  • woooow, googlemap it man... it's insane.

  • 99% of u guys dont even live in the amazon so stfu

  • Brazilian people have the right to do whatever we need to do it. The same way, the BP has the right to explore oil ...spilling all over Mexico Gulf.

Just rich Countries have the right to explore the available resources? REMEMBER: GLOBE WARMING IS A JOKE!!!!

Hey! Welcome to NEW WORLD ORDER, soon the Anti Christ will appear and all the resources will be availabe to him so he can control everything and everybody . NO PURCHASES WITHOUT THE MARK OF THE BEAST WILL BE ALLOWED!!.

  • @JESUSISTHEONLYESCAPE ...I fear you've maybe misunderstood those scriptures, the ones that are talking about the anti-christ, they mention also that many will claim to be or have claimed to be..and in 1 John 2:18 it clearly states that when you know of this you must know that it is the last hour. Verse 22 lets us realize that we must come to know Jesus' father who is in fact God Almighty.

Jesus' fathers name can be found in any bible in Psalms 83:18.

  • @FlamingFury5 Go shoot yourself fuckface

  • @malsprower lol calm down and go have a salad

  • @FlamingFury5 Judging by the comments, it is you who needs to calm the fuck down.

  • if we legalized the production of hemp, the uses for the plant alone could out source the uses of trees and we could end deforestation. why cant the US just quit being bitches and legalize hemp. fuck it legalize all forms of cannabis. the world would be so much better as pacifists

  • OMG people who haven't yet understood that we must save the forests are only jerks...and will pay the conseguences...

  • Please watch my video.

It's about climate change, earth catastrophe and our planet as we lives in.

Recent Earth catastrophes, it's about Earth Changes - Continental Drift: One huge continent became 2 continents,

then 5 (or 6) and then?

    watch?v=j7I_eFoIk64

  • The standard Houses of americans and europeans is wood made houses, and Brazilians ( 'the ones who owns Amazon ' ) none of them lives on wood made houses so, stop building your country economy with our wood then amazon will survive.

if you search about brazilians politicians you will find that amazon lands were sold to lumber companies to cut wood, 90% of lumber companies in brazil are foreign companies most from USA and Europe

so dont buy it from here and Amazon will survive

  • @lateralcarancu

you are an idiot 80 percent of the trees disapearing is from THEM they are POOR farmers they just burn the forests to be used for farmland and the country has the forests destroyed it isnt the americans or europeans so get your facts right dumb ass

  • @artgirl3001 we (americans pay them for food they farm and the trees they cut down. yes it is them cutting but we buy there products they make from cutting them down , so if we were not big consumers we are, they would not cut down forest to feed us. dumb ass

  • Found a new search engine that is dedicated to rainforest preservation. saves 2 square meters of rainforest per search!

    -> ecosia. org

check it out, tell your friends, and set it as your browser home page

  • The number of humans is increasing - so what? We have more food than we need - the problem is the distribution and our habit to prefer to destroy huge amounts of food for concerns of the prices instead of letting the hungry eat our superfluous productions.

The unfair system is also the reason for the disgracefull situation of third world countries, who have no chance to protect their nature - they have huge depts and dependency and try everything to get along with that.

    Open your eyes.

  • carbon is good for trees - fact

  • @sasktank um, we are emitting so much of it, it is NOT good for the planet anymore

  • @alexkvaskov hello... trees use carbon through photosynthesis.... wow didnt we learn this in what 9th grade

  • @artgirl3001 um yes i learned that in grade 7

    whats your point

  • if you add up all the worlds loggers yearly output--it will take 1000 years to cut all the trees--the forests are full and huge in no more than 300 years--the loggers cannot cut them all down-it grows back 3 times faster than maximum logging output - fact

  • @sasktank provide some credible sources to back that up.

  • People are so ignorant! SAVE THE RAINFOREST'S

  • É engraçado ver os americanos ( maiores consumidores do mundo) dizendo que é horrivel o que os brasileiros fazem na amazonia. Pra onde vocês acham que vai a madeira? ah ok..

  • You are all condemmning these cattle farmers and blaming them to destrroy the plannet?

We humans are growing on a speed of 100Millions a year. So you have two option, or kill them all, (quet difficult) or chop down all rainforests, fish all the oceans.

    We are getting crowded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well with no rainforest and no fish none of us will live, so it will get difficult anyway.

  • *shrugs* noone goes into rainforest anyway so whats differance does it make?

  • ignorance is bliss

  • Im sure that logging had nothing to do with deforestation. Wake up and smell the carbon rich air people.

  • why the fuck are people marking down Archin04 he is right cattle ranching is the biggest cause of deforestation so stop eating fast food not buying wood.

P.S. I bet thats a bit harder for the fat fucks marking you down

  • Cattle farming is maybe the biggest cause, but not the real cause!

The world's population grows 100'000'000 every year.

If they all only eat corn they need a area of 4000km2 to grow their food! (more every year)

So tell me, where do you take land without chopping down the rainforest?

Wher do you fish, without using the ocean?

It is not about eating fast food, or vegerianism.

  • hemp could save our trees! by replacing industrial products such as TIMBER for building products and TREE PAPER PULP for junk mail and newspapers

research/advocate industrial hemp alongside medicinal cannabis for health liberty and economy! and ecology! research the commodities we are not taking advantage of economically

  • fdasf

  • eu moro neste estado (Rondônia) na cidade de Pimenta Bueno, eu me envergonho do que nosso povo faz com nossas florestas....

  • Yeah, screw all those people that need farms to grow food, save the monkeys!

  • Something has to be done about this!

  • i dont care how good brazil is at futbol

    this is f***ed up

if i could i would slap the brazilian president for alowwing such thing to ocure

i cat belive only 8% of earth surfece is rainforest

    only 8%!!!!

  • To save the florest the Europe and the America have to stop buying wood from Brasil. It's simple! In Brazil we heard a lot of lies only to legitimate a future military invasion, like on Iraq.

  • Muy interesante. Ver el video de "Jose Luis - Para el Siglo que Viene", mensaje similar e impactante.

  • Let's not point fingers, we as humans buy wood around the world....We're destroying the

    lungs of the Earth!

    Awesome Video EarthOutReach 5*'s

  • And yea we mainly buy our wood from China, which in fact does cut down a lot of trees illegally...

  • I used to live in USA, there we are not allowed to plant trees wherever we want to. In your house you can't have a tree instead a garden full of grass, might be because they are prettier.

  • Thats because theres idiots/greenpeople that go planting everywere and it can affect power lines, pipes, sewers, roads and more!

  • Why we don't hear about North America rainforest??

  • I don't understand why all the NGOs goes to Amazon. They say they want to help the people because they are really poor, but, we got lot of poor peoples on the Northeastern too, so why they don't go there to help those peoples?. Might be because the Northeastern don't have any rainforest to explore the animals, minerals, diamonds, trees...etc, so they aren't interest to go there.

Please the NGOs and US foreign keep out of the Amazon! You guys are not welcome!

    AMAZON BELONGS TO BRAZIL.

  • First of all, the amazon belongs to several countries, not just to brazil. Second, the brazilians can't even manage the rainforest, the only thing they can do, is destroying it. Maybe you are scared because other countries are going to steal some plant?? XD

  • If they are destroying the trees is because some countries are buying ilegal trees. Who are those? I heard another day that all the papers impressed on the NY TIMES comes from the Amazon? Do you think are they legal?

And why we don't hear about North America jungles or other countries? Might be because they destroyed all. The funniest thing is US is the biggest carbon dioxide producer and they want to say bad things about Brazil, where they come 22% of the whole world oxygen.

  • These so called jungles(actually it aren't jungles) of North America were destroyed centuries ago, when there wasn't as much knowledge as today about biodiversity. Second, these forest aren't even close in biodiversity as the Amazon jungle.

  • Also, some good initiatives, like REDD(reduced emissions from deforestation ) were rejected by the Brazilian government, while other rainforest nations did find it a good idea. The Brazilian government wants to do it all by itself, because it is to proud to let other countries help, while the government can't manage the rainforest at all.

  • If Brazil really wanted, it could become the saviour of the rainforest, but instead it has become one of the largest polluters and CO2 emitters of the world, just like the US, largely because of deforestation.

  • My country(Brazil) signed the Kyoto protocol, what about yours(USA)?

  • I live in the Netherlands, not in the USA. But anyway, people shouldn't look at the USA as an example, but have to go another way. Also, I think it was wrong that the USA didn't sign the Kyoto protocol.

  • Why aren't the billionaires on this planet buying this land up and preserving it ?

Seriously, I'd like to know why their 'abundance of money' can't solve the 'scarcity of ancient forest' problem..

    I know I would if I were a billionaire - I'd spend ever last penny on them...I guess that's why I'm not a billionaire cos I'm not a selfish greedy b*stard...

  • How about we start to plant some trees in our own countries by 2020 we can maybe have the 20% supply we need of oxygen! I am brazilian and live in USA but we are not allowed to plant trees wherever we want to in here. There are huge fields of grass in each condo and just a few trees planted. The reason? The grass is prettier!!

  • To roose91:

Stopping deforestation is much more important than planting trees. Deforestation accounts for 20 % of global greenhouse gas emissions. Also, rainforests are important for rain and incredible biodiversity.

  • We get enough oxygen from the ocean alone.

If all the trees were cut down we would still be okay...

Plus humans as a species are very resourceful even if our oxygen supply was getting too low we could make machines to convert the carbon dioxide like trees do.

  • 20% of Oxygen is produced in the Amazon, and is given free to the World. The world in return, should help Brazil and the other amazon sorrounding countries to keep it up.

  • USA media(full of faggots) keeps talking about saving the Amazon forest, NEVER about North American forest.

  • Don't like my earlier comments? Go to the UN site and read some publications on depopulation, or type in United Nations depopulation or UN depopulation intogoogle, why don't you. You can't handle facts. In the 1970's and 1980's tens of millions of activists lobbied the UN and had campaigns to stop deforestation but the UN did not take action. We have scientists and activist sin favour of depopulation of up to 90% teaching students at Universities. I guess they are the real pathetic ones not me.

  • How about plant some trees on your own countries and stop worrying about other people's land?

Come on, you screwed with your own forests and now you think Amazon's deforestation is a Global resposability?

Amazon Belongs to Brazil! Go take care of your own lives.

  • I wish you die on your own shit

  • wheres the layers panel??

  • lets kill thos brazilians

  • its all propaganda created by leftwing liberal nut fucks becided we are better off without trees that way in windstorm such as huricanes and tornados people wouldn't be crushed by them. The real enemy in this world isn't the rag headed muslims of the middle east although we could do without them as well it the forest so start you chainsaws and get to cuting.

  • For honor of humanity... Go hang yourself!

  • The UN have had a chance to stop deforestation in South American countries, don't worry though, useless eaters won't stop deforesting because of the poverty the corps cause. Now the UN will have world government and own your countries! Then you will not be allowed to do anything, let alone cut a twig.World Government is coming!South America will be depopulated and made unto a nature preserve!Read UN documents to find out their plans. Similar plans for North America,Africa and Asia on smaller scale.

  • You are pathetic! No more words.

  • I dont think people get it brazil is such a poor country that they have to do this to feed there familys in the amazon not in urban areas.

  • To chevytruck123

You are wrong. All these deforestation in Brazil is mainly caused by gigantic soy plantations, which goes to our cattle like pigs and cows in western countries for our meat. These soy plantations even are bad for the human rights in Brazil. Land is stolen from local people, and there are even sometimes local people killed if they resist.

  • dont you mean palm oil not soy?

  • europeans and americans sending cosmonauts to space and in africa and latin america millions of kids doesnt have nothing to eat

  • what brazil is doing in amazon is nothing compared to what united states is doing with the planet.

americans produce more pollution than the rest of the world together..

amazon is in out territory and we will do whatever we want here.. the rainforest will be internationalized when the money of the rich countrys be internationalized too..

there is a lot of larger problems in third world caused by the capitalism of the first world.

  • Not that I`m defending the American people, but what they're doing in Brazil to the Amazon, the worlds lung, is going to make clean air a larger and rarer luxury then it already is.

  • The Amazon is not the world´s lung man. Most of the oxigen produced in the world come from the ocean... the real world lung. I don´t know your nationality but you are really concerned about the air, you should start with USA and China, the most polluter countries of the world.

  • This video shows climate change but this is not direct deforestation but flooding of the land. I have a similar video but with showing direct deforestation.

  • "This video shows climate change but this is not direct deforestation but flooding of the land."

after some more research and use of google earth i have discovered this is not flooding but actual deforesttion the way you can tell is to zoom in yourself and you can see all the fences and thousands of farms

  • The short sighted parasitic pieces of scum who give little thought for their children's future, and this planet's future. They make money, get rich and to hell with the consequences. They rape this sacred, unique and fragile planet with such penetrative force, the lack of humility in their activities is soul destroying for any human being with just an ounce of integrity. An orgy of unsustainable exploitation, driven by an unscrupulous lust for gluttonous greed, gathering ever more momentum.

  • Blame heterosexuals. They're the ones that promote overpopulation of the planet, and if you don't like the destruction of the rain forest, stop eating McDonald's crappy food, stop eating chicken, beef, pork, stop drinking soy milk and eating tofu in your high and mighty vegetarian restaurants

  • I dont eat that stuff anyway, only meat i eat is rabbit stew and roast pigeon, not to mention a leg of redneck

  • fuck thats really bad i didnt realise it was to such an extent. humanity is raping this planet.

  • I want to kill the humanity. My country (Brazil) and my planet is dying.

  • Indeed there are hundred of families with millions of genus and genus with hundreds of species, let's see how many species we could find in a specie like Ficus wich has been overstudied and therefore is well preserved if you check it on genus search list you can find that there are only for Ficus 3789 species:

ipni dot org / ipni / plantnamesearchpage : genus: ficus

  • million years the vegetation remained undisturbed, and in less than few centuries we burnt and slashed all down. There are so many species, that scientists investigated barely less than 1% of the whole.

  • Well look at that!!! That is frightening! Looks like they paved the Amazon and put up a parking lot! This video is great in helping to spread the word. Check out our attempt to help. Lookup "chopping down the hillside" on youtube. It may not be much, but we're trying.

  • Wow, the Amazon is in serious danger. Check out "chopping down the hillside" for a musical commentary trying to spread the word on the destruction. Pass it around if you think it may help.

  • the slider sets the transparency of an overlay - nice

  • Whoa!!!! amazing...!!!
