It's a custom bass built by the late john Birch, who also built guitars for Brian May, Roy Orbison, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler. Dave Hill and the Glitter Band.
@seymorec4 It may be, I've never seen that finish before on a Gibson bass, EBO, or EB3 were that shape weren't they? To me the headstock looks wrong though, but I'm not a bass player so............
This band gave us some really good music, in fact some brilliant music. And the range of music they gave us is beyond most. At a festival they got the crowd going more then most, they were that good, and noddy had a really powerful voice, rock on slade.
Why in the name of all things rock are this band so overlooked? I cannot understand whay this kinda live footage has never been made available to the masses. I have only recently come on line and to discover such amazing footage I have never seen before Is at once fantastic but Its very sad that as a fanatic of this band since 1972 I had never seen it before. Watching this took me back to the fields of Reading when it was a true rock festival. Wot would they have dun to todays bill? HEH. HEH.
Absolutely wonderful!! Still the best band I've ever seen live - by a mile. Do you have the rest of the concert? I'd gladly pay you for a copy. Thanks so much for posting these clips, they have really made my day!

What make is that bass? It looks great.

@jackHNv I would say looking at the body shape and the indent in the headstock it's a Gibson sg bass.
I could be wrong but it's the best I can do from the images. Hope this helps.
