i dont know but id asume that lotus's have wax/oil on there leave to allow them to float an keep water off so they dont sink. i wonder if you can "water-log" the leaves an see if they will sink?
@monkey911t It has a wax, making it hydrophobic, yes. Not only that, it also has a microscopic structure making it superhydrophobic. Look up "superhydrophobicity" and "lotus-effect" if you want to know more.
