every one who visits the current river should look up Shannondale. great camping and great atmosphere. ive grown up as the pastor/directors son all my life. our camp/church would love to have you camp there. if you ever look it up ask for pastor Jeff, tell him his son sent ya.
Yes we are using our pungo 120's, for a 10 yr old he does very well paddling, he's a natural! Of course the pungo 120 makes it much easier as well since they track really good.
@mopedtrip There are several primitive camp spots all along the river. Or you can camp at Pulltite camp ground about halfway to between Akers and Round Spring. Cave Spring is halfway between Akers and Pulltite on the left side of the river where it turns to the right. Its easy to miss if you dont pay attention. June is a good time to got the river should be at a good float level and there will be many people on the river usually. I would start early before the crowds show up. Thanks
Thanks! Yes he is a great rat terrier! He pretty much took to it pretty quickly and our other female rat terrier did great with it also! Rats are great outdoor dog breeds with very few inhibitions it seems. You just need to get them out on a pond or small lake and get them use to your kayak or canoe first then hit the river, they will love it like ours hopefully! Thanks and goodluck!
This looks like a great time. Your Dog is awesome too !!! Did he just naturally just take to the Kayak or did it take him some time to get comfortable with it ? I ask because I also have Rat Terriers but I have never done this with them. I wonder how they would do.
I think it is so cool that your dog was riding at the front of the kayak, that is very cute! How long did it take for him/her to get adjusted to or just not being afraid to be there?

Were you all paddling Wilderness Systems 120. I thought the young boy handled his kayak very well.

I mean his small tail. If it was longer then it would appear that it was curled under his butt hehe.

Does your dog get scared? It seems like his tail was curled under his butt.
