  • if you want to hear an epic symphonic metal intro, then listen to epica's samadhi, it'll send chills up your spine!

  • The Grievence Enigma is the most epic one in this whole video

  • Check this

    /watch?v=jSQjZpCzoxE

  • @elCHEDE No you check it.

  • Great list, thanks for showing me some new stuff : )

  • Needs more Sonneillon - Upon A Crimson Moon. Greatest intro ever.

  • epic

  • Destroy Destroy Destroy wowowow

  • Dagor Dagorath FOR THE WIN!

  • Poet and the Pendulum ;)

  • these are not symphonic metal, all of them death metal bands with much keyboard.

  • They're beautiful songs...but not intros!

  • can someone tell me which of these bands have female singers? I havent heard of these bands and I only like my symphonic metal with female lead singers

  • @fictionaluser

I think you're looking for Gothic Metal, not Symphonic Metal.

  • @xSwampKalmah

Plenty of bands have female lead singers, Epica, Elis, Leaves Eyes, etc

  • @xSwampKalmah

cause epica, leaves eyes and nightwish are totally gothic metal...

truth is, what you showwed here is symphonic/melodic DEATH metal, but most people will think 'power' or 'progressive' metal when they only read the words symphonic and melodic metal.

(That would be bands like Rhapsody (of Fire), Nightwish, Kamelot, partly Blind Guardian etc)

  • @xSwampKalmah

Um, I hate to sound like a know it all, but just because a band has a female lead singer, that does not automatically make it "gothic". I can not even count how many times I've seen people be reminded of this over and over again, and now it's even bothering me. There are plenty of gothic metal bands out there with male singers, and symphonic ones with female singers.

  • @Oni91888 I'm aware of that. Never in my statement did I say female vocals automatically make it Gothic. I can name quite a few male-fronted Gothic Metal, just as much as I can name quite a few female-fronted Symphonic Metal. However, he was looking for female-fronted music only through the likes of Symphonic Metal, and what I was simply implying that he should be looking through Gothic Metal. That's where most female-fronted bands reside, and that's where he would have much better luck with.

  • @xSwampKalmah

Okay, whatever. Most female fronted bands I know of reside in the symphonic metal area, but maybe that's just me. Anytime there are male vocals, it's usually only if it's mixed with death, black or thrash though. Or maybe I just don't listen to enough gothic metal?

Oh, and this is a good list btw, don't get me wrong here! Great vid

  • @Oni91888 To each his own, my friend.

  • @Oni91888 any recommendations for symphonic metal with female singer? i appreciate your time

  • @fictionaluser arch enemy

  • @fictionaluser

    Try Epica

  • @fictionaluser how can you like only female singers in bands like this..but then you cant even tell if they are female or male obviously.. so then.. I could lie to you and say its a female and you would never know lol

  • Can you upload that songs in a host and give us the link??

  • Awesome list man! for me Lyfthrasyr was the best! Absolutely brutal!

  • I liked 2 and 6, really need to check them out later ;) Asgaard - The Grievance Enigma has a really interesting intro =)

  • This is probably the best list I have seen. Especially since I know most of the bands on it.

  • Asgaard ftw :)

I love all these intros...they are also my favourite...

and Insomnium - Mortal Share was awesome at live concert!!!!;)

Destroy Destroy Destroy-first time I see that name :)

Im gonna make a video with my favourite metal parts (growling, intros etc...) but Im still to lazy or I dont have enough time to make it ^^

  • nicely done!

  • That was effing awesome!!!! Wow, more bands on my list to check out! The name of Destroy Destroy Destroy's album was "Battle Sluts". Lol. Gotta love that.

  • Good list xSwampKalmah btw which one do you like best?

  • Thanks for the feedback, guys!

    @JackThePsychoKillerX

Oh man... well, my 2nd favorite band (behind Kalmah) is definitely Shade Empire. So, I gotta give it up to Ja Pimeys Laskeutui :-)

  • @xSwampKalmah Cool dude! \m/

  • that was some intense double bassing on shade empire's song O.o

  • I totally agree with you that an intro can make or break a song, but in this, they all make it !

  • all these intros are bad-ass ecspecially asgaard that intro is a massacre!

  • great selection, the bests in this genre, for sure!

  • Awesome man. Some of the intros were really badass.Though personally I like some intros better by some of the included bands in the vid.Like Insomnium - Against the Stream or Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Sweet Lilith Of My Dreams.Oh and Shade Empire - Demonized is amazing as well. But I understand it's your vid and I totally respect your opinion.I bet it was hard to pick the right intros cause some of those bands have many of those lol.Overall 5/5,10/10,100/100,+1.

  • @kravarnik: Thanks dude! Yeah it was hard, lol.

Know what's funny? Only reason I had to make it in parts is because I found out a lot of the bands I posted had SEVERAL great songs with intros, and I didn't want to have duplicate bands for each upload.

I decided to break it down in parts, and upload the rest of the duplicate bands on several different parts, just to keep the artists different and varied. For instance, I do plan on using other songs by EToS & Shade Empire for Part II. :-P

  • @xSwampKalmah Raunchy - To the lighthouse

Its not my/ur fav genre i guess, but the intro will blow you away, i promise ;)
