You also need an invitation from the host society, the correct costume and to pass the necessary combat assessments before you are allowed anywhere near the battlefield.
Oh, and the next big one is at least another 5 or so years away...
I will recieve an invitation. I have an historically accurate tunic, pants, waenningas, belt, helmet (Norman). And I will not enter in to the next big one but neither do I care. It will be awesome anyways. So shut up, thank you.
it was fault of huscarls not harolds harold ordered them to keep their line but when williams allies turn back and run huscarls run and pursued them and their legendery shield wall was broken so thats why noob william won the war ...
Yep, some of the men in the Saxon shield wall chased down the hill after some routed Norman allies and gave the Norman cavalry a chance to go in for the kill.
I remember being in the Saxon shield wall in 1066.Best thing I have ever done.

It is in Battle, near Hastings. Tewksbury is later medieval.
