  • Hey Badsneakers, your dad was a true patriot, not too many left in this country anymore, especially the "Entitlement Peoples"

  • Awesome clip of this movie - one of the best scenes in the movie. To bad I can't find this on DVD ANYWHERE!!!! A store in Boulder, Colorado had a VHS copy back in the day but that's the only one I can find. Sad....

  • You see that little T-33 that is flying chase? I was the real life crew chief of that bird !

  • My dad is flying the B52 in this scene. I attached a video response, but your video is of much better quality. Thanks!

  • @BadSneakers At least he wasn't the one flying the B-52 in the opening credits of Dr. Strangelove!!!

  • @BadSneakers I've just learned that my uncle flew all the B-52s in this film. I viewed your video and you seem much too young to have a father flying B-52s in 1962. What's the story? What is your father's name?

  • @carolut2b I know he was flying them. Your uncle may have been one of the pilots. I was only 1 in 1962. I even have a pic of my dad with Rock Hudson, and Gen. Beyerly, the base commander at the time, also remembers my dad flying.

  • @BadSneakers Bad third hand quote. I can see from the clips that the scenes are way too elaborate for one pilot. Did your dad do filming at both bases? Or which one? I know that Beale was one. I am now told that my uncle was in charge of the flying sequences and also flew. It's apparently from a newspaper clipping of the day. Don't know yet where he worked on the film.

  • @carolut2b Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people were involved. We were at Beale, the other base, I think, was in Omaha. My dad was second in command so I'm sure he worked closely with your uncle, if he was at Beale. Did your uncle attend the party they had for the cast and crew? Youtube "Boeing B-52G Stratofortress Minimum Interval Take Off" - probably the best flight scene in the movie. My dad is also piloting a plane in this scene.

  • @carolut2b And not sure what you mean by bad third hand qoute. If it was about Gen. Byerly he gave the orders relative to who did what in the film. A friend in Sacramento had luch with the General a few years ago (I called Gen and set it up) and he confirmed my dad piloted the the plane in the refueling scenes. Not to mention hearing it from my own father's lips. Again, I'm sure your uncle was heavily involved as were many others. Cheers

  • @carolut2b And where was your uncle stationed? There's no way he could flown all the B52s. They filmed at two bases. And another scene where my dad is flying is the minimal interval take off scene where 4 or 5 B52 are taking off. He's only flying one of them. :) But he was the pilot in the refueling scenes, but of course there were co-polits and other flying staff.
