Joe: Boy that looked cold! I was in Strasburg shooting a video at the Railroad (not on the RR) for two days. 30mph winds and 0 degree temps! Wow Was I coooooold, my other camera operator (my wife) protested vigorously! Keeping the equipment running was fun at that temp too!
Amen on the 1223! I also miss #7002 which I used to ride a lot of Friday morning freight runs behind back in the early 80s. I really miss those old "high wheelers"!
Ok, in 20 years of watching the SRC on video, these are amongst the best angles I've ever seen - Never seen the coaling on video, nor the bridge shot, or the Groffs Grove stuff - EXCELLENT!
Nice video, Joe - awesome echo! Whoever was at the throttle has a really good wrist for the whistle cord. Out of the 15 or so times I've seen her under steam, #31 never disappoints... always puts on one heckuva show!
number 31 doesn't sound to happy at 2:00

The closest I've come to crying over a steam train video. Talk about the mournful whistle blues. Thanks for the show.

Wow those rods are loose. Most engines have a slight clang sound in the rods, but you can really hear these ones.

thats normal as they wear down over time they tend to do

@484684984 don't you love hearing that? clank clank clank, music to a steam locomotive!

Wonderful video Joe!!
I was out at Strausburg in Dec.,
but there was no snow! Plenty
of cold harsh winds though...
The engine looks great rolling
over the white blanket!!
